From the reviews I have seen, I would look elsewhere for service. They butchered trees for at least 2 of my neighbors recently. Reports are they are not willing to make good on their sloppy work. Disappointing to know a neighborhood business thinks so little of their customers. I will definitely look elsewhere for service.

Lindsey Tree Service — I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Had used them in the past, but completely dissatisfied with recent work. Paid to have 3 live oaks pruned, lifted and deadwood removed. Our one tree out front received these services. Crew left large portions of other two trees unprunned other than cutting limbs back from the roof without much attention to appearance. Deadwood is still visible from even the lowest branches. When I contacted the owner, Tom, his only suggestion was that they come back after hours to complete the work on an hourly basis. WHAT? Tom would not even stop back by the house to look at the trees and discuss my concerns in person. When I let Tom know that the only recourse he was leaving me with was to share my experience through negative reviews, he told me to «knock myself out.» Disappointing, as Lindsey’s is a local neighborhood business for me :(

Recently went out to buy some firewood for a campfire, It was my first time going somewhere to buy fire wood so I knew nothing about types of wood and how its sold.
The cashier picked up right way that I didn’t know anything and she kindly explained to me the difference between the woods. Then she asked me how much I needed and that I didn’t know either since our car had been packed for camping and space was limited so she sent one of the workers to look and fit as much as he could and then charge me a $ 1 for each log.
The man loaded the wood very nice and neat in the back and even showed me how to start the fire and stack the wood to get it to catch faster. Usually my campfires are short and small and very smoky, that night at the campsite, I had the biggest and longest burning fire in the park, Thanks A lot guys!

Simply put, it was good work, but I don’t like how it was handled. I had originally submitted a request on their website and never heard back, so I followed up with a call. The person I spoke with apologized for not getting it and said that sometimes they receive the online requests, sometimes they don’t. Anyways, I told them to come out there and give me an estimate for everything and mentioned a few specific items I wanted to make sure they included. I got the estimate the next day ($ 800) and it only included two items (from the list of items they performed for me, they left a number of things off). So I called them up the next day and mentioned all these other items they left off and they came back out to get me another estimate ($ 1,250). I thought for $ 1,250 ($ 450 more than the first) that it was a pretty good deal for everything that I needed done and I called them the next day and got them scheduled. The estimate is actually labeled as a «contract — proposal» and I was going to sign and scan in, but they told me that wasn’t necessary.
They came out on time and got everything cut and trimmed (with the exception of a few branches that were missed between the neighbor’s house; not enough to raise a fuss about) and was quite happy with how everything looked. It was to my surprise, and this is where my displeasure comes from, when I later received an invoice for $ 2,050 plus tax.
I called up Tom Lindsey and explained that I was confused by the higher amount and he told me that it was two separate estimates and that I needed to add them together. The handwriting on the estimates are hard to read and it was never explained that they were two separate estimates (why they couldn’t add the total from the other estimate and show a grand total on the new estimate is beyond me). I explained my confusion further and that I had tried to sign and was going to send the contract proposal for what I wanted done, and he said that they hardly ever receive those. So the one document that I was going to send in that showed just the $ 1,250 that would have cleared up this mess before it started, I was told not to by his Company.
I’m not going to say that I still wouldn’t have ended up going with them at the $ 2,050, but I would have gotten more than the two estimates that I had, andit would have been nice to know going in how much it was going to be and not surprised later. Tom could have taken a couple hundred off the total as compensation for the mix up, but I could tell from his tone that he didn’t care and all he wanted was his money for this service, whether or not it jeopardized any future service.
Just make sure you know what you are agreeing to before telling them to come out.

Unfortunately there isn’t a –star rating. I have bought aged wood from Lindsey’s sonce 2008 because they’re convenient in location. However, I have shopped around because either the price per stick is exorbitant or they don’t have what I’m seeking at the time. This time I needed wood to smoke briskets and before buying I specifically asked for dry Mesquite, knowing it had rained the night before. So, she tells me… oh we cover it up, so it’s dry. Well, the wood looked dry however when I unloaded the wood I could see it wasn’t exactly DRY. So, I lit a few sticks and yes, it’s damp enough to not burn at the temperature needed for smoking briskets, 150 degrees. When I returned with the wood, not to get a refund but to exchange it for dry wood… the only thing I got was attitude. When I explained the wood was damp, I got argumentative explanations and her refusal to listen to reason. There comes and time when someone such ands herself should learn to be less obtuse with a customer and offer a solution… like one of the many bags of Mesquite that are dry, stored inside, out of the elements, right next to the door! Instead I got no solution, damp wood and her attempt at explaining how wood absorbs moisture even if it’s covered up. Genius… then to try a failed attempt at sarcasm to tell me it was nice to meet me. I would much rather drive to McKinney or anywhere else to get wood, than to drive 2 miles and deal with ANYONE from Lindsey’s Wood.

After getting quotes from other companies to completely remove the Elm tree from our front yard, we picked Lindsey because they were 25% cheaper than everyone else.
When they came out to do the job, I just so happened to be outside and saw them bring down a branch that was very close to hitting our roof/​house. We were not home the entire time they were removing the tree, so after they were finished my husband received a phone call from the owner to inform us that the workers broke part of our sidewalk while cutting down branches. He told us that they would replace the concrete for free, and not make us pay until that was done. They also waived the tax on our invoice. We were very thankful that they took the time to inform us of their mistake, and do what they could to make it right.
Later on, we noticed divots in our yard from large branches and rocks from the old concrete they broke off to replace.
Overall, great customer service, but somewhat sloppy execution.

After rescuing our home from a split tree in the big storm last fall, Lindsey cleaned up our ash and elm trees this spring. Only took a couple of hours and you wouldn’t have known they were here it was so clean.
Also, I got quotes from a couple of others and Lindsey was the most competitive. Add that to the fact they have been in business in the area for so many years and this was a no brainer. Highly recommend.

I’ve used Lindsey tree service several times, but the last time, 2 months ago, the pruning of a pecan tree and a live oak was not done right, to the point that I thought they might have a new crew. I alerted the company several times with no luck. The owner finally says that he’ll come out for an extra charge, and when I questioned as to why, he hung up on me. One loyal customer lost.

My elderly mother called Lindsley’s to get some tree branches trimmed off her roof.
They arrived that morning and 30 minutes later the crew of non-​English speaking men had CUT OFF NINE 12 INCH TO 15 INCH LIMBS NEARLY MAKING BARE AN ENTIRE SIDE OF THE TREE!!!
I asked them to stop repeatedly while we called Mr Lindsley and by the time he called back the tree was BUTCHERED!!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I had Lindsey Tree Service trim the trees in my front and backyard today. They did an excellent job, finished in just a few hours, and did it for less than half the price of the other bids I received. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I’ve used Lindsey Tree Service 4 – 5 times now at 2 different houses. For the most part, they have always been prompt and their rates are very competitive with other services that I’ve called for bids. Tom Lindsey is easy to work with, very straight-​forward and doesn’t try to «hard-​sell» you like some other tree services here in town. That said, they do sometimes get backed up and it might take a while for them to get to your project. But as long as you’re not an «instant gratification» kinda guy like me, you should fine calling them.

Sorry I CAN NOT recommend this company.
I had a bad experience with them.
Save your time and money.
Call another tree company.

Scheduled a delivery of Oak Firewood 237.00 dollars to be delivered. In addition to a 40.00 tip because I know its hard work. They arrived and told me they were unable to give me the wood because their wheel barrow would not fit past my air conditioner and that it would be too much trouble and take too long.
I scheduled this 5 days ago, and I would suggest in the future they ask about access before wasting my time and theirs. Now I have to wait another week while I find another source.
Other options — I could have helped them carry the wood, they could have dropped it in the driveway and I would have done it myself.

Lindsey Tree Service is excellent. Their prices are very competitive, they communicate with you and show up when you need them and do a great job. In fact, for us, they went above and beyond and didn’t charge us extra for the added service. I am very pleased with the work they did for us and will recommend them to all our friends. We had a large 25′ dying tree surrounded by hedges in the yard of a home we’d just bought in Lake Highlands. We love trees and called out an arborist to try to save it, but it was a lost cause. We got three quotes on removing it and Tom Lindsey at Lindsey Tree Service was right in the middle. I did my research and decided to go with Lindsey and I’m sure glad I did! He got me on their schedule quickly, showed up when they said they would and were in and out in less than an hour. Took down the tree AND hedges and ground down the stumps! Thank you, Lindsey Tree Service!

Trusted business — no need to call anyone else for bids!
I am so glad to find a space to write about my great experience with Lindsey Tree Service. I no longer get bids for work on my home and rent houses. And we have a number of large trees at our houses. Their prices are fair. They show up on time, do the work requested, ask and suggest to make the best outcome for the tree and safety. They always clean up well. Tom and his crew are my heroes when they recently responded to an emergency at our rent house where a large broken branch could have caused more damage.
Bonus — I am so glad they offer the free mulch! Ask about their special fertilizer spray service that is so much more and will make a huge difference for your landscape.

I am surprised by the awful service from this company. There are so many excellent Tree Services in Dallas, don’t waste your time with Lindsey. In addition to tearing up my yard, the workman left trash and gloves littered around and spilled an entire gallon of motor oil on my driveway. The owner refused to clean it up. The poor quality work and unacceptable customer service makes this company a no-​go. Do yourself a favor — keep looking.
