Lights Fantastic

Customer service is horrific! I have been here multiple times & not acknowledged at all by one of the five staff members behind their desks. Those staff members also watched me struggle to open the door & get the stroller in with no attempt to offer assistance which I would think is common courtesy (they all sat & watched!).
I ordered some lights through them & on the invoice it said they were due to arrive on the 8^th. So on the 13^th I call just to check up & see where they are (no big deal they are late but just wanted to make sure they were ordered & on the way)… Well. The lady on the phone was so rude it was like I was asking for her first born child! Sorry it is such an effort to you to look up a order!
Total snobs!

This place has everything you’ll need. I never thought I’d say this in regards to lights, but it really is the last place you’ll need to look. I called a couple other places and they said they had what I needed, but they didn’t sound very certain about it. I needed something very specific — a narrow spot light that was a point source — and they said, «yeah, we have it.» Then when I repeated what I needed, she said, «Yeah, we should have something that works.»
So I called Lights Fantastic and talked to Joe and he said, «I have at least one bulb that fits that description, we definitely have something that will work.» So, since I didn’t have a lot of time to dilly dally, I went straight to the store.
First off, you’ll walk into the showroom and it’s for all the fixtures. Light fixtures everywhere. I needed the bulb section, so they sent me down the ramp there and in there are just shelves and displays of bulbs. Every bulb you can imagine. For good prices too. We bought some specialty bulbs at Home Depot for $ 12.99 only to find them here for $ 8.99. I was amazed.
On to the bulb, I needed a point source bulb and I thought I needed a narrow spot, but it turned out that the bulb I chose was a flood. I did need to block out some of the reflector, but the center section was a point source and it fit my application perfectly. We probably looked at about 6 different bulbs before we came across this one and Joe was patient and extremely helpful.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. It was exactly the help I needed and I got the bulb I needed.
You need lights? Fantastic. You’ve found your place.

This place will make you want to change out all your lighting in your home! They have the most amazing selection of lighting at great prices. My favorite sales person to work with is Kenny. He is extremely knowledgeable and has great suggestions if you are having a hard time making your selection.

I bought 3 ceiling fans from Kenny at Lights Fantastic. When one of them didn’t work, I called Kenny and he worked magic for me. He ordered me a new one and then had a wonderful installer named Don come over and put it in for us. No charge. If we’d bought the fan on Amazon, it would have been just about the same price, but we would have been out of luck to get one reinstalled for free. I was so happy with Kenny’s service. Customer service is what saves a place like this. Thanks, Kenny!

Horrible customer service. They had at least 6 people sitting behind desks throughout the store and NOT one employee acknowledged me. I have a 5000 sq ft custom home to equip. The inventory is just mediocre and the same items you can buy cheap at Home Depot. Dont waste your time here. NO WHERE TO PARK. a bunch of snobs!!!

I just called for help with a 700.00 Minka fan & got the most bored sounding, condescending man ever! We built a new home less than 2 years ago & bought over 15k on lighting/​fans. I explained that the fan just quit. Hadn’t been turned off, it just quit running. I told him I thought it was the motor. He said (in his bored condescending way) I parked my car & went in a store & when I came back the starter was out so things happen.” What? Why are we talking about your car??? I finally said I’d call the company & hung up. I called Minka & got a really nice helpful man who told me to call a different lighting company & get them to help. I did & they helped me & now waiting on a new part that’s already being shipped to us by a lighting store we DIDN’T spend thousands of dollars with. I’ll never go back to Lights Fantastic because in my opinion, they aren’t too fantastic!

Very disorganized and they really don’t care what you think. The people who answer the phone are completely clueless as to how the business operates and no one can find anything. I ordered lights months ago and when I asked for an update I get dates with «unconfirmed» next to them. You are better off ordering online… same prices, less frustration.

Apparently I’m not with the norm based on their rating. I came to get specialty LED bulbs, and I got them. The service was great.
Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 bulbs didn’t work. Any inconvenience of having to go back and return them was thrown out when the lady who took care of me came in the picture. I can’t remember her name, but she was awesome…
When I take out two loans against my mortgage, car and life savings I will be back to purchase a light from them.

I purchased over $ 10,000 in lighting for my new home exactly one year ago. The lights in my bathroom never properly worked. 1 – 2 bulbs per fixture always have to be manually tweaked to turn on. I finally went in to talk to them and Jim advised he would get with the manufacturer and get back with me. Three weeks go by and I call to follow up. I get a call from someone else telling me I have to ship the lights at my expense to the manufacturer and see if they will repair them. That means I will have NO lighting at all in my bathroom sine this is now my problem. I feel like a fool to have spent so much money there and be treated like I am dealing with WALMART.

After reading the other reviews on Unilocal,I was hesitant to go to this store at all. However, I really needed an additional down rod that matched the diameter of the rod to a light fixture I had just purchased. No one seemed to carry the diameter and threading of the rod I needed.
I walked in the door at 5:45pm on Friday evening, fifteen minutes before they closed. Doug walked up to me as soon as I came through the door, smiled and asked if I needed any help. I showed him the rod, and he assured me that he could find a match and went in the back to look. While he was gone, two other female employees walked up to me and asked if I needed help. Doug returned and informed me that the rod I had was not an exact match to what they had. I explained to him how much difficulty I was having in locating a rod that matched. He told me if I brought the light fixture in, that he could retrofit the connections to work with their rods. I was very surprised that he was so accommodating since I had not purchased the fixture there!
The employees were great (even at closing time on Friday), I will definitely be back, and I would definitely recommend others to shop here also!

After driving by this place about a million times I finally stopped in in search of chandelier parts. They didn’t have any.
It seemed like a high pressure sales system going on here as there were about 8 sales people working in the middle of a weekday. They were nice enough to recommend a few places that they thought I could find my parts but I ended up ordering them online anyway.
I would recommend checking out Lamps Plus on Knox instead unless you feel the need to spend too much on a light.

This place is the stop for lamps for me. They have the nicest people working there. And they have been right there since I was a teenager, a Loong time.

This place is incredible!!! They have unique light fixtures, chandeliers, fans, furniture, etc. The staff knows their product, especially BRIAN! He was very polite and was able to find the right bulb very quickly. I will surely use this company for all my lighting needs.

We’re buying and remodeling a mid-​century ranch home and will be replacing all the fixtures including the chandelier in the dining room. Our family of four walked in to view their selections and as beautiful as their showroom was, I could not believe how inattentive their staff was. We walked around for about thirty minutes viewing the entire store upstairs and down and were ignored by every single employee in the building. NOT ONE person said as much as «hello» and there must have been ten employees that we passed. Reading the other reviews, I see that this is typical for their location and completely unacceptable to me. Our budget for lighting is about $ 3500, but I would drive a hundred miles if it was necessary (it’s not) to keep from giving these people a nickel of my money. Phooey on lights fantastic.

I agree wholeheartedly with many of the other reviews listed here. Every time I’ve come to this store — there’s been nothing but a feeling of condescension shown by the employees working within (I’m just curious: What’s the situation? Do they beat them between shifts???).
The salespeople act as if they’re doing you a major favor simply acknowledging your presence.
Hopefully, this’ll be the last time I ever have to visit this box of bad vibes. ..

Great selection… but some of the most unfriendly salespeople I’ve dealt with, and I’ve gone in a number of times over the past couple of years. Staff always seems like you’re bothering them when requesting information.

I don’t know what it is about lighting stores, but I freaking love them. OK, I guess I do – bright, shiny, pretty, sparkly lights everywhere!!! I could spend hours mesmerized in here. They have a very large selection of lights in various price ranges… best deals to be had are in the clearance room by the dock. I don’t know who buys some of the stuff they sell though — plastic chairs and couches that light up? Not necessary in my opinion but hey, something for everyone I guess! Most of the stuff is pricey, customer service is good. Would recommend at least checking it out if you need anything lighting related!

When you want to find the latest rod lighting, chandelier, pendant, floor lamp, sconce, etc. this is the place. In order to purchase any of the said above, you must locate a salesperson. In order to gain assistance from one of the sales persons, you must wait in a long unorganized system that has unwritten rules that change.
Seriously, all I wanted to do is replace the transformer of a track-​lighting system that was barely used that I purchased from this store just a while back which I thought would only take 15 – 20 minutes. I spent more than that and had to deal with the salesperson that evidently was having a rough day.
Why would this store sell me 4 identical track-​lighting systems that were pricey only for them to tell me when I needed to replace the transformer that was barely used that the 4 identical track-​lighting systems are now discontinued.
I think the store sells great looking items that are overpriced and cheaply made sold to you by salespeople that appear to fell like they have the entitlement to treat you poorly.

I have had enormous problems getting them to live up to the lifetime warranty on a Casablanca fan I bought at this store. The owner is a master at passing the buck and shirking responsibility. His view is that the lifetime warranty extends 6 months (his words were «3 – 5 months» but I am rounding up). I will never buy another fan there. Life is too short to go through this aggravation again.

SHINY. You can not imagine how shiny it is inside this store. I needed a special light bulb – of course they had it. But the minute me and my daughter walked in Lights Fantastic our jaws dropped and we – meaning me – reverted back to childhood and walked through the store gazing up at all the chandeliers and colored lights.
Yes, this is worth a field trip. We did the «this is my favorite, no wait this one is my favorite, nope… wait, this one for sure is my favorite,» for about a half hour. When I asked why all the lights were not on the manager told me it would cost a fortune to light them all and the heat would be too intense.
Nice folks, beautiful place and hard to find light bulbs!
