For a first visit, I was very impressed with the design and atmosphere of the restaurant. We sat at the bar, Dave was our bartender. He was very attentive, nice, and knowledgeable of the menu. We never went with an empty glass! We had read such rave reviews, it was hard to decide what we wanted(good play, cause now we will definitely be back to try other things). We ended up with the chicken Chile Verde nachos(huge order for only $ 7. I couldn’t believe it was an appetizer), chicken wings(good wings, but we ordered Thai Chile and got served bbq), chicken tenders(wasn’t thrilled with the breading, it almost tasted burnt), and the bbq bacon burger(good sized burger, good flavor and juicy). Yes there were three of us eating all this lol. Like i said we will definitely be back! Can’t wait for warmer weather to come so we can enjoy the patio Let’s just say, our second visit wasn’t as great as the first one… We sat on patio, not knowing there was a «waiting list» for patio, most patios are like the bar area, self seating. So after we sat, a manager(i guess) asked us if we were on the waiting list and we said we didn’t know there was one, keep in mind we walked right past the hostess stand and walked out to the patio and no one stopped us saying there was a wait list, and there were several empty tables on the patio, so why the«wait list»? So he said let me go check and see how many people were waiting. And never returned, leaving us feeling really awkward and uncomfortable. Next the food… We ordered the white peach sangria pitcher, the waitress wrote it down and walked off. We received our appetizer(free flatbread with marinara, when you check in on Unilocal) but still no sangria. About 15 – 20 minutes passed and we had to let the waitress know we still had not received our sangria. She looked confused, walked off saying she would go check and then returned admitting that she had forgot to put it in, that being said you would think she would have put it in on a rush, but yet it was still another ten minutes before we got it. I had the bbq bacon cheeseburger with Cajun fries, it was excellent. Cooked perfectly medium and juicy, would def get it again. My bf had the lamb stroganoff, the lamb was not as tender as expected, flavor was pretty good. Had some spice to it, that he was pleasantly surprised with. So I still give atmosphere and food four stars. Service slipped drastically in my books. Two stars.

I was a little disappointed after coming here because I was expecting to be wowed by the food based on great reviews. This establishment reminded me of BJ’s or your typical American bar restaurant. They had more of an Asian-fusion entrees and plenty of different entrees to try from. My sister and I came during lunch which they had a lunch menu special. My sister had the blackened chicken burrito bowl while I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken noodle bowl. The chicken burrito bowl was similar to a Chipotle burrito bowl and had plenty of veggies in it. For the price, it was decent and I enjoyed it. My dish tasted weird though… the noodle they used was like the pad thai noodles with this sweet sauce on it. The sauce was too sweet and thick for my liking. We also ordered the cajun fries, a very large plate that neither of us made a dent into. It was okay and didn’t stand out too much. I didn’t check out the drinks or bring my dogs here which I’m sure that’s what they’re more known for. Overall, another nice addition to the area and a quick place to grab lunch.

This is our second time there. The first time, after trying to locate a parking space for 30 minutes brought us to a multilevel parking garage. The restaurant food was fine. They stressed«cooked to order». I don’t know if that means that your food will take longer than normal or what, but cooked ribs are either cooked or not cooked. This, our second visit was a whole other experience. Our soup was cold. I dont mean tepid. I mean room temp. Waiter apologized. Had kitchen reheat it. Next, everyone’s potatoes were cold. Not just one but all four. Waiter apologized. Went back to kitchen and brought four new portions of potatoes. Our main dish was fine and we did not want to send it back for fear it would come back either burned or cold. They offered to comp dessert, which was nice of them, but unnecessary. We ordered two desserts for the four of us, with coffee. Wouldn’t you know it? Three the coffees were cold! The manager brought us hot coffee and apologized… again. I wonder what the issue is with the cold food? The food was not bad, but we saw that this did not make for a great dining experience.

California concept is cool, and the idea of bringing your four legged friend is novel. Unfortunately, not everyone shares the hair of the dog with their meal. Restaurant is huge, with a big outdoor patio, high ceilings and fire place. Ingredients are all sourced locally, and utilize a made from scratch concept. The drinks were good, we have a couple of the beer samplers, barkeep messed up the order of the glasses, but our Californian waiter took them back and reorganized without prompting. The menu is a bit like Cheesecake factory(huge!) and food was nothing special. We got the hummus trio appetizer, and it was pretty good. I also had the tortilla soup which was really good, and for my meal the Hawaiian sticky ribs and slaw. The ribs were not very ‘Hawaiian’ and also a bit overcooked and dry. One of the folks in our party got the campfire pot roast and raved about it. Overall, the feeling was mediocre. If we end up going back, I will have to try the pot roast and see if we can fair better.

Need a place to grab a good lunch with your dog in tow? Lazy Dog is the place for you. We went about 1:00 on a Wednesday and were seated immediately. They have a large, open, pet-friendly outdoor patio, which is where we sat with our dog. Our waiter, Rome, was great — friendly but not gushing, informative, attentive. My wife and I wanted something light. She chose the spicy Thai chicken salad. This was a nice combination of chicken, cabbage and veggies with a spicy peanut drawing. She normally orders the dressing on the side but forgot this time. The salad was perfectly dressed — enough to get the flavor but not drenched. She like but very much. It was a good size and filling. I ordered the greens, egg and ham. It’s a nice play on the Dr. Seuss book title and consists of a poached egg on top of grilled broccolini, bacon, and parmesan cheese mixed with poblano pepper cream sauce. Like my wife’s salad, the dish was perfectly dressed with just enough cream sauce to add flavor. It was a very nice, light dish. We also shared an order of sweet potato tater tots. These were great and the highlight of my meal! I don’t recall the final bill but it was reasonable for the food, service and dog-friendly seating. I wish they had a Lazy Dog in Austin. We’d be a regular.

Update: This has become my absolute favorite restaurant hands down. Every once in a while the service has been slow, but its almost worth the wait. The food is always fresh and delicious!!! My recommendations: Chicken pot pie, pot roast, veggie lasagna. LOVETHEAPPLECRUMBLEDESSERT!

I Really want this to become a regular stop on our«where do you want to go tonight?» options. For that to happen Lazy Dog needs to get a bigger wait staff. Our Waiter was great, he knew the menu. He gave good recommendations but he was working on tables all over this place. And btw this is a big restaurant. We were a table of 7 and we didn’t arrive together. So that made it tougher on our waiter. Having said that… Food– diverse menu, big portions, tasty. Drinks– good selection of beer /cocktails. Atmosphere– hunting lodge meets mid size warehouse. This was the night of the Christmas weekend storms in Garland and Rowlett so the patio wasn’t an option. I did check it out. There is a terrific firepit area and overall it’s a great patio to hang out on with friends and bring your dogs.

Pretty good place to grab some grub and a beer. Atmosphere: Basically like a Gordon Biersch/BJ’s sort of place. Large restaurant that can cater to larger groups. Big outdoor covered patio area as well. Food: Everything from burgers, sandwiches, pizza to dinner plates such as pasta. It’s a pretty decent size menu, sort of Cheesecake factory type of variety. You’ll find something to eat. I had the fish and chips, which was decent. Food came out hot, the fish came out in these round discs, which I found a little odd, but the fish tasted good and the batter was fried right. We had cajun fries to share as an app, I should have ordered cajun fries with the fish because their regular fries are about as bland as it gets. Maybe they should just nix the regular fries and go with their cajun fries on everything. I don’t think anyone in our group ate their fries that came with the meals. Service: Our server was nice and fairly attentive. My beer was empty and I was never asked about a refill or water however. We had a large group, maybe she just missed me. Who knows. I’d say this place is about a 3.5, leaning on 4. Gonna give it 4 for now and I’ll come back and give it another try to see if it sticks.

Not to point any fingers but I believe that our waiter«effed» their chances of not getting 5 stars from this Unilocal Guest. He starts off by asking what we want to drink, blah blah blah, asked have we been here before, we said no, blah blah blah, he said everything here is homemade blah blah… TIMEOUT! Homemade?! He said everything is «scratch made in the kitchen – from the slow braised pulled pork to the fresh cut fries.» Hmm. Interesting. Spinach Cheese Dip: The fondue appetizer came out quick, fast and in a hurry. The presentation was nice, but the potion looked a lot smaller than I imagined. I quickly started to dip with the side of chips. Ughhhhh. You know when you forget to close a bag of tortilla chips over a week’s time? Yeah, that’s how they tasted. The cheese was rockin’ though. Chicken Salad Sammie: Very fresh and mayonnaise-y. The veggies were crisp and flavorful. The portion was HUGE and the fries — well you guessed it. They were about as fresh as Steph Curry’s line-up. Yeah, totally frozen. If anyone wants to grab a drink, we can meet here. But that’s about it.

I actually thought this was a hot dog place based on the name, but it’s not! They’re dog-friendly, so they allow dogs on the patio. Food-wise, they have a lot of different options– pasta, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, salads, soups, Asian-inspired, etc. In past experiences, restaurants that try to do a little bit of everything usually don’t work that well, but surprisingly, it did here. I had the carbonara, and although it’s not really authentic, it tasted great. Their food is made from scratch daily, and it certainly makes a difference. What’s awesome is that you can buy discounted movie tickets for the AMC next door. You can ask your server, and it’s $ 9/ticket for any movie. It will save you at least a few dollars per ticket, so it’s great if you’re planning a dinner/movie night!

Fantastic happy hour selection.(Reverse happy hour from 9−11pm sun — Thursday as well!) This restaurant has a fabulous atmosphere. The service was spot on as well. They have an extensive menu with many different dishes. They also have a lighter sized menu as well. It’s dog themed. Who doesn’t love dogs? We tried the Brussel sprouts, chicken tortilla soup, chicken pesto & hummus salad, ribs and cheeseburger. Solid meals, great portions — but nothing too special. The Brussel sprouts were amazing, but the rest were simply OK. I will be back to try other things on the menu in the future! Chicken pot pie, stir fry bowls, steaks, pizza and pastas! They have a menu for the pups as well! You can bring your pups to the patio(where there’s a fire pit & ample seating /tables). Try this place if you’re around the Addison area(but beware of parking on the weekends, the shopping center tends to be consistently full)

4 stars from a D.O.G.‘s perspective only(a solid 3 if human only): When we’re in Addison(Dallas), we take one for the team so-to-speak. That is, like many«parents» might go to ChuckECheese for pizza, it’s not because they offer a great piza’pie…it’s to make their kids happy. So it is the same for our furbaby Elvis(yes, we turned into those crazy dog people we used to make fun of before rescuing this pooch a decade ago). He gets to choose from 3 delish selections off of the Doggy Menu. Elvis highly recommends the fresh grilled chicken and brown rice — his fav! Ruff approved! 4 stars in lieu of 5 because the server made him wait for his cocktail bowl… er, um, water. ;) In all seriousness it’s a really cool concept(tons in Cali; this is 1stTX locale). Lazy Dog is a full service restaurant and bar with a menu that’s meant to please both humans and their canine companions on their very large dog-friendly patio. Innovative human menu offering up simple burgers to green eggs & ham to seared ahi. Quite diverse, unfortunately quality marginal at best. Definitely skip the fully loaded«hushpuppies» — no more than deep fried pot mash. Burgers tend to be overdressed and ahi could be more fresh. Just overall, meh. Cajun fries are great though! :) Also, the service is lackluster. A little inattentive and lacking in personality… honestly I think the dogs just get on their nerves after a while(I am aware that one of their rules is that they can not pet the dogs because of health reasons; I completely understand), but they can be nice to their own kind, right? Overall: Will visit again for Fido’s din din time and human boozer hour. Cheers to beer and dog lovers! Note: One rule for customers is that dogs not eat/drink from«human» plates/glasses. There are several breakers out there… just sayin’ :/ [184 in 2015]

The old Blue Mesa location renovated for puppies and pit-bulls. The name should give a hint: The Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar are dog lovers. It’ll also booze, beer and human friendly. Yes, they have a dog menu, It features chicken, hamburger and brown rice. A bowl of water is complimentary. There’s a spacious dining area inside, bar with big-screen TVs showing sporting events and a big patio for dogs. People can really bring their dogs and hang out on the patio plus nice outside seating with a fireplace. The menu for humans has plenty of options, wide selection of sandwiches, salads, full dinner menu and brunch on weekends. They have a great Bloody Mary and that’s always a good way to start the weekend mornings. Menu has something for everyone, great bar drinks as well as wine and local beer list. Good food, good staff and if you have well behaved dog or two bring them in!

As you approach the restaurant you immediately notice the outside seating which is inviting during nice cooler nights. There’s a fire pit and looks like you can eat around it. The inside is huge the ceiling décor is cool to look at. The menu is a little confusing as it has a plethora of dishes ranging from American burgers to Italian pasta to Chinese wok items to Mexican food. At first I thought we ventured into a food court but surprisingly enough the food items we ordered, pot roast and Baja burger were really good. Our server, Victor is very attentive and took care of us. He took the time to explain some of the items on the menu and more important why there are different items in the menu. I’m sure on Fridays and Saturdays this place is busy given there’s a big bar area. It’s a little loud but worth the visit.

HUGEMENU! They offer a variety of food, Asian fusion, pizza and pasta, burgers, sandwiches, soups, meat, chicken, seafood dishes, dessert, and even a menu for dogs! They have $ 5 cocktails for brunch, which includes bloody marys, mimosas, and sangria. I got their weekend brunch menu item Country Chickens & Biscuit: Crispy fried chicken, chicken sausage made from scratch, TWO sunny side up eggs & a house made buttermilk biscuit topped with Cajun gravy spiced maple syrup. Loved the fluffy biscuit. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Cajun gravy was a tad bit salty, but good. I want to try their Sunny Side Up Pizza next! Looks like they have a good selection of items on their HH menu($ 3-$ 7 drinks and food)! I will definitely need to check it out. Good sized dog-friendly patio too! Happy Hour is Monday-Friday 3−6pm & Sunday-Thursday 9pm-close(bar & patio only).

This place is awesome! It’s so open and I love that it’s dog friendly! The patio was packed with pups and people when we went. The servers were incredibly friendly and decently quick. For my meal I got the black and blue burger wrapped in lettuce with the Cajun fries on the side. The burger was awesome! The meat was cooked perfectly and it was so juicy it was running down my hands! The Cajun fries were a must. They have a light spice to them that made the flavor just pop. Mimosas are $ 5 on Sunday. They also have sangria for $ 5 or pitchers of sangria for $ 15. You get about 4 glasses out of a pitcher so it’s totally worth it. I would definitely recommend stopping in here. It’s great for groups or anyone with a dog. I can’t wait to go back!

Ok, I love this place. It’s «adogable»!! Great menu, cute décor and outstanding service. We had Cajun fries, lamb stroganoff, schnitzel and turkey meatballs. It all was delicious, but the stroganoff was definitely the table fave. We were too full for dessert, but it looked divine! We’ll be back, but next time it will be a doggie play date on the patio. So fun!
