I have been using this guys for about four year since I moved to the area and my experience has been no to bad. They for sure are fast on getting the job done and informing you of what needs to get done next. Never felt push to get anything done to my car that I didn’t want to at the moment. They are also good at following up with you and calling you if they need to. Their costumer service is not bad but it could always improve to make people feel more welcome. Other than the seem like hard working people.

Fueling Frustration. So i needed an oil change on my car, called up the place. I asked so can you please tell me what an oil change would cost me. The guy who answered the phone said $ 39.99.Although I thought it was a little high but figured it was convenient place to go. So I went to the shop, where i was signaled into the garage. I told the guy I called for an oil change and the guy says OK… took my keys and I went into the office to wait. about 15 minutes later guy says its ready… I walk up to register and the guys says «It will be $ 47. plus change» …I said What? When I called they told me $ 39.99? why is it different? The guy says well there is disposal fee, taxes.etc. etc… Well I paid but I do think it is unfair they don’t tell you all this on the phone before you get there… I will not be referring anyone here and will never go back for the expensive oil change… very deceptive… As well about a month ago I think I was scammed at this same place when a supposed glass expert told me I had tiny chip on my windshield. I couldn’t see anything but I feel for it and paid $ 50 for their supposed chip glue they put into the tiny tiny tiny crack my eyes couldn’t see… watch out when you go for one thing here and they tell you you have a crack on your windshield, don’t fall for it like I did.

Totally got scammed at this place. Went for an inspection and they told me I had two cracks in my windshield that I couldn’t see and they would fix for free in 5 minutes… I know, I know… flash forward and I’m being told that I either open a claim with my insurance company or I owe him $ 200 (but if I pay cash, then it’s $ 40). I’m a sucker.

These guys ought to be selling aluminum siding, or maybe casket upgrades at a funeral home. Ever been to a restaurant and been offered a slice of «homemade» key lime pie that you know damned well came out of a Sysco box and had a 600% markup? Well, for Dallas oil change joints, this franchise must be Dallas’ ground zero for overpriced, add-​on services.

What do you mean, you just want an oil change? Just look at the color of your oil! You obviously need a Crankcase Flush.
And, gosh, your car has 60,000 miles on it, so let’s run a $ 10 can of cleaner through your fuel injection system and charge you $ 90.
Cabin Air Filter. Why sure we have this $ 7 drop-​in item and will charge about 30 clams for it.
Radiator Flush, Windshield Repair, you-​name-​it and we’ll try to get you to buy it!

I’ve been here before for service, and have always thought the prices fair and the people honest Today I went in to have my license plates put on my new car. They also put on the registration sticker. I expected a charge but it was free. You can bet I won’t ever look for anyplace else to take my vehicles!

Frustrating experience! I went in to get my travel trailer inspected and they wouldn’t do it because I didn’t have my insurance card! And insurance on a trailer is not required in ANY state. Think about it! It’s not a vehicle, they don’t sell liability insurance. I happen to have property damage insurance on it, but only because I choose to, not because I have a lien or it is required by law. The inspector (David) was short and not willing to listen or get me someone else to speak to. I won’t be doing any other services here. Eventually, I took it to another Kwik Kar and they did it promptly,

I see this place got a lot of bad reviews but when my car needed immediate oil added and I randomly turned in to this spot they were great! No wait, super helpful and they didn’t try to up sell anything. Thanks!

They have a really bad customer service and they tried in a very pushing way for ppl to do more stuff at their car service. I regret to go to this place even though I already see the bad ratings that they have. I felt tricked and will never come back to this place again!

For once I’d like to go in and receive only the service I request, nothing else. Just went in to have an inspection and I’m asked to come to my car. I hesitate looking at the man holding the door, I’m rolling my eyes because I know what’s coming. I peel myself off the hot plastic faux leather chair and follow. He begins to speak…”…windshield…blah blah blah… nick” I feel not just my eyes but my entire body rolling in frustration. I could have behaved better. I told him to stop and that I was sick and tired of coming here and being sold on something other that I came for. The dings in the windshield are so insignificant a bug could do more damage. This is the second time they have approached me about my windshield. The first time I took the bait the second time I spit it out.

So once you get past the standard «you need to get your Brake Fluid Changed» and the «You need to get your Power Steering Fluid Changed» stuff — the staff is fast and friendly –and there is always a coupon to use in the mailer. Ive used other locations and I find the service to be quite OK. Glad to see that they have gotten rid of that glass guy. I think overall they do good work.

A quick, efficient service for an oil change, an inspection, a tune up. They have three bays and a team working at each. Their convenient location on Mockingbird and Skillman provide a lot a drop-​in business, so the guys there are good at getting you in and out in a timely manner.

I came here initially using one of those Planet Super Saver discounts. I will NEVER use either company again. The employees are unscrupulous as they had extra fees, charged me for more oil that never happened at other locations, tried to tell me I couldn’t leave without paying for other options that were «dire» on the car and billed me before I agreed to any of them. I had to argue with them and say «NO» repeatedly just to get my car back as it was held hostage before being allowed to leave. It was to the point that I was either going to call the police or get physical to get my car back as they came back 3 – 5 times claiming more stuff that was required after I said no to the prior issue and in one case they said they just went ahead and did without getting my permission and as such I would have to pay. I didn’t. If restaurants «spit» in your food or worse when you return it, then I don’t want to imagine what this place was doing to my car because I refused their sales tactics.

I had a friend follow me over here to leave my car to get my state inspection done. She waited for me in her vehicle while I drove around to the back to start the process. I pulled up and stood outside my car for around two minutes before anyone addressed me. Several people looked at me, but it took two minutes for anyone to actually walk out of the garage and ask me what I needed.
When the man finally strolled out, he told me that I needed to scoot my car up 10 feet and give him a copy of my proof of insurance and my key. I scooted my car up and in the 15 seconds it took me to do that he went back into the garage. I stood outside my car for a few minutes and he never came back. Finally, I walked around to the front office to leave my requested stuff with the office personnel. I stood behind another gentleman for a few minutes and no one came in. Several of the workers in the garage kept looking in, but none came in as they were too bust with their texting. I asked the man in front of me if he had been helped inside and he said he had been standing there for ten minutes.
I opened the glass door to the garage and asked the man who was texting by the door for help. He, in a rude tone, asked how he could help me. I told him I had been waiting and was told by the other person that he had been waiting for 10 minutes so he could help him first. He then shouted at me that he was working on his car (which is a lie as he was playing on his cell phone for a good five minutes) and asked again what I needed from him. At that point I just left as it was clear that these people were lazy, rude and careless and I would not want them touching my car as I got the feeling that they would do something to it. I would say it was a waste of 20 minutes, but I I did learn to stay away from that place and to warn others to do the same. Oh, and there was a guy smoking in the garage … luckily the place didn’t blow up …
Steer clear from these sketchy peeps.

In short: I hate this place. They lie, steal and cheat you out of your hard earned money for no reason at all.
Certainly don’t go in if you’re a female by herself. They just expect us girls to be dumb and ignorant and think they can squeeze another few hundred dollars out of us for work we don’t really need for our cars.
Here’s why I loath this establishment:
I’ve gone to this location a couple of times and always leave pissed off and annoyed.
I go in for oil changes only, but of course they say I need this and that done or my car will break down within days.
The first time I asked for a printed quote for all services required and the guy spouted off a list of problems and prices and again, I asked for a printed quote. He got super annoyed with me and told me nothing would be printed out until I paid and got my receipt. So I told him I would not authorize any additional work until a printed quote. He walked off pissed and mumbling under his breath about this and that.
Finally pay out, get a list of «problems» and their prices. Looks to be about $ 200 worth of flushes, fluids and services.
I go back for my next oil change, with my receipt, ready with cash for the quoted price and the same guy that worked on my car before, comes up to me and tells me there was a misprint and that it would $ 40 more than what he quoted me a few months earlier; he apparently mistyped the price.
I’d had it at this point. Told him I would not be paying for HIS mistake and would no longer need them to service me car. During this time, another mechanic came up to me with another list of issues, equaling about an additional $ 500 worth of work. Of course I left this place as soon as I could get my car keys back.
I found a real mechanic that day, took my car in to be looked over and gave him the list of services required (by this time, I needed about $ 700 worth of work done)
Turns out, didn’t need anything other than an oil change and tune up. ($ 170!!)
P. S. There is a chip repair guy that lurks around. Told me he could fix my windshield, $ 50 if I paid with a card and $ 20, if I had cash. Sounded shady as hell to me, so of course, I said no.
If you go to this place, you’ll be saying no, no, NO!

One and done with Kwik Kar regarding oil changes.
They did all the tricks they did with others:
— Air filter with extra leaves and twigs hand placed on top of it
— Told that unless I approve 8 additional «critical» services, the car would self implode
— Charged the same as what a dealer would, even after the online $ 5 coupon.

This place is horrible.
They always hustle you for extra services and get offended when you don’t accept them. I will never use them again after my last visit, some time ago.
I was getting my oil changed. I know the drill, most places try to up sell you. I was a regular and was used to the annoyance. They brought me out to look at my air filter and were holding it very carefully with precariously placed dried leaves on it. They told me it was all clogged up from being parked in the shade. I took the filter out of his hands and all of the leaves just fell off. (Obviously they were placed and not still on the filter post-​removal).
They all literally yelled at me,“hey man, don’t go dumping that on our floor, what if we came into your house and dumped leaves into the floor?“
I was astounded and told them if the leaves were still on from the filter being pulled out, they would have stayed on when I took it from their hands to inspect it closely… And that if they didn’t want them to dump out everywhere, they shouldn’t have placed them on the filter.
They lied and tried to cheat me. This is beyond Unilocal,it’s BBB type stuff. No one should patronize this business, unless you enjoy abuse and being outright lied to.

I have been here several times with both of our vehicles. Every single time I go in to get an oil change they try to sell me on a myriad of other services, insisting I need them. Last week I went in, they said I needed a new filter, now I KNEW I just bought a filter from them, so I told him that. He then says that someone previously had put the wrong filter in, so I did need another. I have not taken that car any where else to be serviced. So IF the filter was the wrong one, THEY put it in! Ugh. After trying to milk me for all I could (about 120 $ in services) some very rude man tries to insist I get my windshield chip fixed and bill my insurance. I have a huge crack n it already so I said I wasn’t worried about the chip, then he starts giving me major attitude.
I certainly won’t be back here

questionable practices here. came for an oil change. they had a guy here from chipfixer auto glass — told me i had a windshield chip theyd fix free. then he had me call to file a claim. beware!

This place definitely preys on women who don’t know how to say no.
I was pressured three times by two different people for an engine flush and fuel injection service that I am 100% sure my 2009 vehicle with 25k miles does not need. Another person came in and pressured me to have a windshield chip repaired. I said I only wanted an oil change. I didn’t mind paying a bit more for synthetic oil, but I’m not sure how much more these fools know than the manual that came with my car. I didn’t get the services I didn’t need, but I could see they were getting frustrated with my stubbornness. I left feeling really icky and I will not go back.

My mechanic moved here from another Kwik Kar Lube & Tune and I followed him. I bring my ’99 Camry here for diagnostics and every other oil change. (I still use the Kwik Kar Lube & Tune that is a couple blocks from my home. I’ve been going to them since before I got this car.)
What I like about the Mockingbird location:
+ has a mechanic I can trust to tell me the real deal
+ small
+ good weekend hours
+ cozy waiting area
What I wish they would change or do better:
— all employees should wear standard uniforms. Had one guy come up to me and I thought he was homeless and about to beg for money. But, turns out, he worked there.
— offer free wi-​fi for customers in the waiting area
