KERA 90.1 FM

Too much talk of death on what use to be decent television channels. I use to enjoy watching KERA television, until, the producers learned about my activities online, concerning, my religious belief.
Run an Internet search for «accurate understanding of end times, and, accurate understanding of Christ Jesus parables,» and you will see my faith blogs in the Top 2 position of relevance. I can’t control what the racist ones do.
Because I’ve listed KERA as one of my favorite TV channels to watch, at Facebook, those Italians, Jews, and other Europeans who hate the ground we walk on, choose to air programs on KERA, so as to inform me of there being a death trap for black men like me.
But tonight, I’m going to watch «Roman Death Trap» on KERA Television, in Dallas, sponsored by people who love to send subliminal messages.
Targeted programming corporation heads are threatening my life all day every day via Progressive Insurance, and Geico commercials, just to name a couple.
I see the Queen’s influence there, as well. I get an SSI check for being Bi-​Polar because I’m passionate about my belief that the Lord has done wonderful works through an ignorant man like me, but our world leaders, who make believe I want to rule over them, has misinterpreted my intentions.
I’m not a pimp. I have merchandise to sell. I work.

Wow! This is the POS of NPR stations. It has the WORST local content. Yeah, I was ashamed of Dallas, too, but that’s no reason for the local NPR station to take two hours in the middle of every day and play phone interviews with obscure authors shilling offbeat books («Civil War Dentistry: A Toothsome Tale» — OK, I made that up). Where were local bureaucrats? Politicians? Business people? KCRW in Santa Monica, KUT in Austin, KQED in SF, WNYC in NYC, WLRN in Miami, and WAMU in DC are all WAY better, and have amazing local content. Yeah, NPR is terrific, but what is it about Dallas that keeps it from developing a self-​conception? When I lived there, I listened to WAMU, WNYC, and KCRW, and I joined the latter over giving to KERA. In fact, at $ 240 /​year, you’re a «star» at KCRW, but if you want recognition at KERA? Better hand over $ 1,600. Apparently anything less in material-​mad Dallas is barely worth recognition.
BTW, WLRN in Miami far and away has the best local content I’ve heard on any public radio station. Go Phil!

NPR is awesome. I drive a lot for work and this is my go to station. Through the years I’ve learned so many interesting things about the world we live in by listening to this station. The arts, politics, culture, science and the daily news around the world.
Some of my favorite articles through the years were the discussion about Coco Chanel and her Parisian flat. I went online at NPR to see actual photos of her apartment after returning home that day. Very cool.
Another extremely interesting bit of information I learned listening to scientist on NPR is that our frontal lobe is not fully developed until our mid 20’s. Yeah, you know, the part of our brain that differentiates us from other animals! That explains why I was never able to make sound decisions until my late 20’s! (So don’t get married until you’re at least 30. I don’t care how much you love him!)

This is a great radio station. I listen to it 95% of the time (minus when I hear the same story twice or the mind numbing pledge drives).
There is so much quality news and information you can gain from listening to NPR on KERA. The reporters all have their unique voices and styles and are usually very entertaining. All of the shows, national and local, keep you up to date and knowledgeable about your area and the world. With all the bubblegum brain-​dulling music on the radio, it is so nice to be able to expand your mind while trapped in the car.
Sure wish there was something they could do about the pledge drives that interrupt so much of the great programming, but they have to get the funding somehow.

I absolutely love NPR. I can’t count how many times I’ve sat in my car before going inside my destination because I want to hear the end of a story. The programming is everything from informative to hilarious. KERA ensures that I learn something new every day, and most importantly, I don’t have to listen to anybody screaming ridiculous commercials during my commute!

I credit my regular helpings of NPR over the years for keeping the ol’ dendrites in my noggin from suffering complete decay. After all, you can only listen to Cee Lo’s «Eff you» so many times on the radio before you start losing brain cells.
90.1 is my go-​to for weekday am listening. It’s the home of excellent, balanced programming and is a great, dependable news source. Keep up the good work, KERA!

Love KERA! Just discovered it the past few years after living in Dallas my whole life. I don’t know how I listened to the other junk for so long!

My family took a lot of road trips growing up and I remember listening to Greater Tuna, Car Talk, and the like. NPR will always hold a place in my heart.
I love how 90.1 doesn’t feed me a left or right wing view. They report the news like it is and allow me to make my own decisions. Sometimes I wish my commute was longer just so I can listen to NPR longer than the 10 minutes it takes for me to get to work.

It certainly is better than the ridiculous stuff you hear on 570 and 820.

The best radio station in Dallas, period, and not just because they asked me to appear in a spot a few years back. This station epitomizes integrity and what radio is about.

Lots of commercial radio shows have made NPR seem like the opposite of Fox News. 100% leftist propaganda. These assclowns are doing anyone who believes these claims a huge disservice.
Yes, KERA and NPR do lean left but there are so many programs that aren’t political that have tons of value and to be honest the news programs have done a pretty good job at poking holes in the claims that the economy is in recovery.
I recently heard (on this site) that 91.7 is going to be changing formats in a few weeks under the control of KERA to something similar to 90.1 at night with Paul Slavens (basically a very eclectic mix of music that you won’t hear elsewhere). I can’t wait!

I think if it weren’t for KERA and NPR I might know as much about the news, politics, random stories across the nation and such. I wake up to and drive around listening to this station.
I love that I get local, national and global news and stories in such short time periods. I can listen for one hour and end up hearing several pieces that are interesting and entertaining. Plus, I enjoy knowing community events and info.

I love NPR! I loved grabbing lunch for my pharmacy on Sundays because I was able to listen to Car Talk — I would time my lunch to match their program time. I also love the lady that answered food questions on the weekends although I have no idea when she comes on anymore. grrr! The channel can be a little left wing sometimes but I still love NPR because it’s truly a breath of fresh air from the overplayed stuff on other channels.
Give it a try when you’re stuck driving for a few hours, it’s better than listening to the same 5 songs over and over again. :)

Get thee to 90.1 on the dial and tune into great interviews, stories, and news pieces that «really matter.» And the best part is that it’s funded by the public (read: people like me), so there is no kow-​towing to ad sponsors. Oh, and when you tune in to listen, send them a check for $ 30 (or more) and help keep the dream alive.

I love you KERA! Thanks for making those years back in high school memorable.
It seems like only yesterday when I was trying to decide where to volunteer in the DFW metroplex. It was a requirement for high school graduation and I needed something fast. I chose KERA mostly because of the location (not too far from the house) and didn’t really think about the type of community I’d be stepping into. I am so glad I made the decision thanks to all the wonderful staff and volunteers I met!
I highly recommend spending time to help out during a pledge drive or promotional event. I’ve always found KERA volunteers to be some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. There is never a dull moment during a pledge drive especially when you get the little kids calling in to ask what happened to Barney’s time slot. Priceless.
Did I mention that KERA also provided snacks for volunteers? I’m not sure if they still do this but they occasionally catered food from some pretty amazing places including La Madeleine! Oh yeah, they also had a popcorn machine that was always popping in the lounge! Yum.
If you’re lucky enough to volunteer during a live pledge drive please do it! I organized a volunteer session for one of my classes one weekend and we all enjoyed our visit. We got to talk to the featured artist who also gave away some of her in studio sketches. I still see footage on KERA from our visit and get all nostalgic just watching it.
KERA you rock! Definitely a community worth checking out!

A great station for catching up on news and current events. Expand your mind, people!
Car Talk is definitely a favorite although I rarely catch it now that I don’t work weekends.

Yep, this is a good station. I wonder why everyone on there talks in a soft monotone style though?
The car show is hilarious, you can tell they have fun doing what they do. Making noises that match the callers exact description.
I like the world news aspect of this station, getting views from different news organizations not affiliated with the US is a great opportunity not afforded on regular tv.
The is the best station for unbiased news reporting!

I don’t know how I forgot to review 90.1! This will have to go in one of my lists…
I became addicted to KERA about a year ago when I tuned in for the first time after getting really sick of the typical morning shows (and had to drive 45 minutes to and from work every day).
Now I have a new job and drive less than 10 minutes per day, and I really miss knowing pertinent details about current events! (I also miss knowing random facts!)

I love listening to Car Talk on Sunday afternoons and the BBC World Service during the week.
Listening to BBC kinds helps me out with working on my British accent, haha.
