K & R Electric

The man (Ralph) showed up and had a revolting smartass attitude. Told him to leave our home immediately. No excuse for acting like that.

Although the company did complete my repairs, it has taken a while for follow up for the additional repairs.

Through our home warranty, Ralph of K & R Electric was sent to our home to repair a fixture that was flickering. At the first visit, he quickly assessed that the bulb in the fixture was bad and that it just needed to be replaced (which we did). The $ 60 invoice for this 5 minute visit clearly says «bad bulb». Later that day, the light resumed flickering. Because it was obvious that the bulb was not the problem and we were concerned that there may be a loose wire, we contacted K & R Electric and asked that Ralph return to take another look. When he called to schedule the second visit, he was clearly irritated that we wanted him to return. Today, he arrived at our house and stormed past me to the location of the light and threw down his tool bag. He went on to rudely tell me how «he knows what he’s doing and it’s the fixture that’s bad, just like he told me before». I reminded him that he had actually told us that the bulb was bad, not the fixture, which he ignored entirely in spite of my offer to show him the previous invoice. He went on to say that our home warranty does not cover fixtures (which we were aware of). I replied (gently) that had he diagnosed the fixture as the problem at the first visit, would not have needed him to return (which he also ignored). As he walked (stormed) out the front door, he went on to tell us how he really should be charging us an additional copay for «making him come back and not listening to him the first time».
Between both visits, Ralph spent no more than 10 minutes at our house. By his behavior and attitude, you would think that we had been a tremendous inconvenience. It is outside of his control that the fixture is not covered by our warranty, so I’m not complaining about the fact that our fixture is still not working. It was Ralph’s flippant and dismissive attitude at the first visit, followed by the irritated follow up call and outright rude second visit that I found unacceptable.
