Joes Dug Out Bar And Grill

Really do like the bar and look. Service was ok. Bar patrons highly intoxicated kinda killed the atmosphere. The food is absolutely awful. I mean atrocious. Just come for drinks.

Fun bar. Pizza smelled good and service is great. Cat go wrong here if you want to listen to music and sip some brew.

They make the drinks really strong. Which is good. You’ve got to a sign a little waiver saying you’re in a private club so you can drink here. I got a little sloshed here last night with some old friends and it was not very cute. The fiancé kept buying all the hometown friends Vegas bombs which didn’t help. I am just going to apologize to everyone here including the bar tender for touching her hair when she brought drinks and saying it was «Sooo pretty.» To be fair her hair was really pretty!
I probably won’t ever go back just out of sheer embarrassment. That and this is sort of a seedy area of Carrollton. I just went here because I grew up in the area. I am more of an uptown/​highland park girl now. ;)

Small but what and amazing place great food and awesome customer service great people that work love the atmosphere they have a jukebox with todays songs and also oldies i will be going back with my friends

Real fun neighborhood bar. No drama, good clientele and great service. WAY cleaner than you would expect. Above average bar food and a wide selection of drinks. Best bar in that area. Most people in there are regulars so everyone knows everyone. Worth stopping by. You just might like it.

We;re done. In spite of this not being an «in bar» VS others nearby I HAD liked it for the food, and decent service. Well, little did I know the service was «when we get to it type».
DONE. AVOID. THE FEW RATINGS FOR THIS ARE PROBABLY EMPLOYEES, ETC. SERVICE (won’t let me use proper word) AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE. (And I say that as I wait over 20 minutes for a beer and tab here — which is my last time. Too bad, did like the food.)
Okay, so half hour plus later I get a free beer and my tab. Nice, but TOO late and wrong. Heck, if I could have just gone by now I have cheap beer.
Taking the: local small nice place” doesn’t follow through in the equation… BYE, sae for perhaps a brief food visit.

This bar exceeds the expectations of all other bars within a mile radius. Very clean shotgun style bar, friendly and attentive staff. They make a point to always remember your name and your preferred drink of choice.
From what I’ve had, the food seems to surpass the usual bar food. While they do have the usual fried food platters, their sandwiches are what had me coming back. Try the First and Third Base sandwiches.
The beer selection is small with about 10 taps, which half are the usual Big Three, but also some local and craft selections. Mine being the Deep Ellum IPA. Decent bottle beer selection of the same Big 3 and a handful of specialty and imports. And a few good craft beer choices.
What I like most about this place is the atmosphere. You don’t feel like you are in a dirty hole in the wall Dallas bar. The staff is friendly, and the clientele don’t seem to be comprised of low lifes.
The only improvement I would like to see is perhaps an increase is specialty and craft beers on tap. It’s a small place though, so I’m happy with what I’ve got.

Carmen, the bartender, she’s a sweetheart. Had a smile on her face the whole time we sat at the bar. Very nice!
She made a GREAT Tito’s and tonic and our shots of Fireball, came in a frosted shot glass… that made them THAT much better. I would’ve never even known that place was over there OR that it was so neat, clean and put together in there.
I’ll be going back for sure!

Great bar opened in the same location of what used to be a staple called Coaches. The bar is on the small side but has a ton of TV’s for the game. Drinks are a decent pour and price.

This is a hidden gem. They have a fairly extensive bottle beer selection and the draft choices are not limited to the «major three» breweries either. They even have a cider on tap (not a pear cider) which is nice for true cider lovers.
As an added bonus Tuesdays are Texas Tuesdays with $ 4 Texas liquor and $ 3 Texas beers. The Texas beers have lagers, IPA’s as well as darker selections (Not just Shiner-​not that Shiner is a bad thing). The Texas liquors consist of the usual selection of Tito’s Deep Eddy’s (sweet tea, ruby red & cranberry), but also some Texas whiskey, rum and even a delicious tequila. (I know Tequila can technically only come from Mexico but the Tarantula Tequila still gets included despise the slightly south of the border origins.
Of course, there are many other selections available! They even have some nice red wine choices that look delectable, but, alas, I did not get a chance to sample.
The food is bar food but GOOD bar food. I’ve had the nachos (with chicken). They come on individual large round tortilla chips, not just piled onto a plate, willy nilly so every chip has all the ingredients on it. I hate naked chips.
The buffalo chicken pizza has a nice burn but also creamy at the same time that leaves you wanting more.
The staff is friendly and accommodating I got lot of good suggestions on beer and food selections from them. I ordered a «Snakebite» which is a mix of cider and beer (lager) and was unsure which beer to mix it with. Kristen helped me out. (Shout out to Laura, Will, Jay, and Kristen!)
Also Golden Tee is available to play if that is your inclination.
It’s a shotgun type establishment so the bar is easily accessible from any location.
Over all, it has a fun, family atmosphere that I will be returning often.

We came here for a quick drink — we were a big fan of Coach’s — the previous establishment — but Joe’s dugout is a complete disappointment — the bouncer «Andre» thought I slammed the women’s restroom door too hard and gave us trouble. It was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. The women’s restroom has two doors: one to the sink and one to close off the toilet; he seriously gave us trouble because i slammed the toilet door «too hard.»

The 5 stars I am giving is cause this place was a blast! Small shot gun style bar with a few tables! The flatbread pizza was awesome! Had such a great time! This buy far is not you foodie place! It’s a bar, bar! Bring back some college memories! All I am saying don’t knock it till you try it! Great job joes dugout I am a fan!

Cold beer and very clean. Nice new HD screens to watch the games.
