Ilume

I have lived at the ilume and ilume Park for more than 2 years now. The apartments are nice, in good condition, with hardwood floor, spacious balconies and for a very competitive price in the Oak Lawn area. In addition, I have been highly impressed by the level of professionalism of the staff. From signing our first lease, to renewal, to cleaning, repairs and maintenance, I have always had positive experiences. Even when the swimming pool heating had some issues, the staff was in contact with us to ensure a resolution of the problem. I’m very happy to live at the ilume!

Love the community and the staff has always been incredibly responsive to any requests. It doesn’t hurt that they have a great pool and 4 really good restaurants in premise. I would definitely recommend the Ilume!

I was apartment hunting around the area in Dallas and very much liked the apartment that I was shown at Ilume, thus I decided to take it into consideration and contact the leasing agent I worked with to proceed further if I so decided. After much thought, I decided that I liked Ilume’s location, sense of community, and look, so I filled out a leasing application (on paper, as their website is not up and running) and reached out to the leasing agent via both phone/​voicemail and email.
Over the course of 2 days, I must have called at least 25 times, left several voicemails, sent an email to the leasing agent I worked with, sent a message through the website, and even messaged the page on Facebook after seeing that they had been actively posting photos. I was told via Facebook message that I would be contacted by a leasing agent, but I received not even one phone call or message back from anyone from the Ilume team at all. This just shows how unorganized and inconsiderate the Ilume staff is, having no consideration for their future residents at all. It so happened that I had to make another 250 mile trip to Dallas to find another apartment JUST because Ilume couldn’t pick up the damn phone.
Don’t be fooled by the enticing amenities and nice apartments — the customer service here is nothing short of atrocious. Safe to say I’m glad to have dodged a bullet here with this community, and I’m happy to have taken my business elsewhere.

The leasing troll was short, rude and pretentious. I think you need to be a white male in pastels to live here.

The apartments look nice on the outside, that’s about it.
Service is terrible. Have maintenance issues? Good luck getting it fixed. A few months ago, a pipe started leaking and water started dripping from the kitchen ceiling. We submitted a couple of maintenance requests and called a few times. Those requests were closed and labeled as complete. However, that was not the case. We had to submit another one and had to talk to someone in the leasing office. This was a few weeks later and at this point, mold started to grow on the ceiling. Finally, after inconveniencing the leasing people again, they finally send someone to «repair» the ceiling. This happened back in the summer of 2015.
Fast forward a few months later to today (October 23, 2015): Our ceiling starts leaking again because of the rain we’ve been getting. We have the same issue once again. Again, we submit maintenance requests. And again, we get notification that the request was complete. We come home and we still have a leak.
In conclusion, DO NOT RENT HERE. My partner and I made the mistake of renewing our lease for another year. We renewed our lease before all this happened, but we knew the front desk people were not helpful. It always seems like they are bothered by any issues you bring to their attention.

The apartment is great as if you are entering a five star luxury hotel or penthouse or condo.

Illume has fantastic amenities and the staff is always friendly, quick and informative.
This property also makes is very easy for maintenance request, rent payment or questions. It’s all online and are always handled very quickly.
The interiors of the apartments are top quality with beautiful finishes and appliances. In addition to the gorgeous interior, the pool looks like your at a hotel.
The gym is also beautifully crafted with top of the line equipment. I swear you would not need a gym membership because it has everything you would need.
There is also plenty of parking and the building is very secure! You have to have a fob to get in and out of the building and I’ve never felt unsafe.
Lastly, one of my favorite parts about the ilume are the dog walking amenities. The ilume is very pet friendly and offers a wide variety of services for your furry-​tailed friends.

Great amenities and a greater diversity of people than you might expect. Convenient to downtown, uptown and lots of services. Kroger is across the street & Eatzies is walking distance. Great pool area and the pool is heated in cooler months.

Ive lived here since June of 2013 and have been happy the entire time, of course there are little things that happen, but its always rectified in a timely manner. The best part about living here is Ernesto, he’s kind, understanding and responsive would be an understatement. The staff is always really really nice to me when i come downstairs and ask for something or need anything. The only reason I would not renew my lease would be if I were relocated for work to another state… if you’re hesitant about moving in, take a tour and ask to speak with Ernesto, talk to the people in the building if you see them and get a sense of it for yourself

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Unless you like rude/​lazy office staff, drugged out, loud neighbors, and increasing cost of rent every year in a really unsafe neighborhood. They only clean the lobby; many times there was dog feces and human puke left for days in the corridor leading to my apartment. I moved due to the uncleanliness, the rampant drug use of my neighbors as well as it being a really bad area (a person was stabbed at the BOA across the street). I could smell pot most nights and even saw a man tweaking out in the hallway, rocking himself and scratching his head in what appeared to be a bad come down from a high at 10am on a Sunday morning. To top it off when moving out they charged me extra money saying because I didn’t leave the apartment EXACTLY as I got it they had to charge me for move out cleaning. When I asked for an explanation of what needed extra cleaning they couldn’t answer and gave me the run around. Even though they couldn’t answer my questions, they would not drop the charges. That is like walking into Macy’s and being handed a bag of unknown items and being told to pay. When you ask what is in the bag, you’re pretty much told not to worry about it and just pay; that seems real legit doesn’t it? There are tons of nice apartment communities in Dallas… ilume isn’t one of them. The positive reviews are from staff or friends of staff. Bad neighborhood, bad staff… steer clear.

After living here at ilume for 1 year and 4 months, I am still happy with my choice to move to ilume. Repairs, when needed, are done quickly. Oscar and Juan in maintenance, have taken care of the few issues that needed attention. Last summer, I was happy to learn that maintenance would install my ceiling fan which I purchased for the living area. Stacy is a wonderful yoga instructor and I enjoy her classes which are free for members of ilume. The pool is one of my favorite places to hang out during the summer. My company had a retirement party in the Great Room (for a reasonable fee) and everyone enjoyed it, saying it was beautiful and just what we needed for a memorable occasion. The staff (Andrew, Jeremy, Ernesto, Aric, Austin, and Bryan) is helpful and always there for me. I’m happy.

Having relocated a few times over the years for work, I’ve lived in about half a dozen different «luxury» apartment buildings. Most of them don’t live up to the luxury descriptor, or only in terms of amenities/​buildout. ilume gets it right on every level, including the best management team I’ve ever come across, without qualification. Impeccable service on every level.

Having moved in 2009, I’m still extremely satisfied with the complex and the management, although, I had a mishap with one new employee, management made sure it was rectified. The complex is convenient, the amenities are satisfactory, and staff is flexible.
When I’m not working on the weekends, I park my car and not move it until Monday as my commuute is waking to the grocery store, bar, a bite to eat or cab it.

What can I say besides the ilume and the management staff are nothing shy of fantastic. My unit has an incredible view of the pool where I spend quite a bit of time on weekends playing water volleyball with friends (I’m the «coach»). The management staff here has been very supportive of our desire for having organized ball play, even to the point of installing a temporary heating fix on the pool for us to be able to play a challenge match in late October with other avid ball players from Austin. Now that the permanent fix is in place, we’re looking forward to being able to start spring training next year. I am sure that we end up having some great party weekends and ball play during next Summer. There are also many, many other amenities available for residents and guests to take advantage of. With it being only a 1 or 2 block walk to some of Dallas’ great night clubs, restaurants, and shops, the ilume provides the lifestyle for living and active, high-​quality life. When ilume park comes online in a month or two, that lifestyle will only get better.
