Hyatt Place Dallas North Galleria

The hotel was fine EXCEPT when I got to my room, the toilet was stopped up. I called for Maintenance. The Maintenance guy showed up at my door, handed me a plunger and walked off. I was speechless. That is so not cool. What kind of place treats a guest like that? The breakfast in the mornings was very nice. The internet was very slow.

I’ve been staying here for weeks on business and could not be having a more pleasant experience!
Pros:
The entire hotel is fairly new and everything is clean. The staff is super attentive and accommodating and are always willing to make a few recommendations on where to go.
The room is cool and clean with a great flow from winding down to going to bed. Its perfect, really.
The bed is mad comfortable and the pillows are better than the ones I have at home!
Kitchen is open ²⁴⁄₇ with pretty decent food. They have same day laundry/​dry cleaning service. There is a shuttle that will take you (and pick you up from) anywhere you want to go within 5 miles of the hotel.
Cons:
My first and BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that their Wifi is insultingly slow!!! 1.5mb download and upload (see my photo for evidence). I couldn’t get ANY work done and had to resort to staying in the office until late at night and incurring overage charges if I worked from my room because my phone had a better connection and would allow me to get my work done.
Why they don’t have a microwave in a room that has a sink and refrigerator, is beyond me.
The A/​C units are super loud especially when they turn over from fan-​mode to a/​c-​mode. This is annoying because the windows don’t open and the room get stuffy so make sure to bring ear plugs.
Shower pressure and diameter suck, probably left over from before the remodel.
All-​in-​all, I look forward to staying here again. Mainly because the staff is so cool!

The people working here are very attentive and accommodating to guests’ need. The free breakfast was very good. Different food daily. Place is perfectly close to galleria mall and driving distance to all Asian restaurants that I crave for. Room is big enough, bigger that most hotels at this star rating since it’s all suite with extra sofa bed, which is a big bonus for larger family. I would have give this place a 5 star if it’s not for the dated flooring.

Just stayed this past week– they are in the process of sprucing up with new design elements. Breakfast, Staff and the Bed were great! Wifi worked well… Starbucks is available if it’s available to you. Overall a nice stay.

Overall, my family’s stay at this hotel was great. The room was quite spacious, with a sofa bed partitioned off from the two queen beds by a small vertical divider. Additionally, the lobby and breakfast area were quite upscale, and the breakfast was great with many options including sliced fruit. Also, the young man checking us in was very friendly. The hotel was showing its age somewhat, though, and the rooms were quite dark. All in all, I would definitely return to the hotel. It was in a great location close to the Galleria and Addison’s «Restaurant Row.»

I travel out of state a lot for work and family. And Hyatt has always been one of my top few choices for obvious reasons: the interior design, cleanliness and customer service are usually very pleasant. So when my mother and siblings came into town, I didn’t think twice about where I wanted her to stay. I was excited to find this one located right in the middle of all the places I wanted to take her to and booked immediately.
Upon arrival on the first night, we were greeted by a rude woman who had just finished handling the customer in front of us poorly resulting in that person storming out of the hotel. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, we decided to just ignore how she spoke to the last customer and proceeded to check-​in. Everything was already prepaid so there should have been a reservation under my name. However, in the middle of explaining this, the woman cut me off and said there wasn’t anything booked… Okay? So I pulled out my phone and showed her my email confirmations, and even went out of my way to show her my bank statement that clearly charged me $ 137 from their hotel. Her response was, «I’m sorry, give me a moment to figure this out.» So my mother and I patiently stood there for 10 minutes to see what kind of excuse this person was going to give us.
I understand sometimes things go wrong in the system, and I can even forgive the fact that somebody didn’t do their job and book my room. But I can NOT forget the horrible attitude she had and the things she said WHILE STANDING IN FRONT OF US trying to figure out what THEY did wrong. She was constantly complaining to her coworker standing next to her how badly she wanted to go home, how she wasn’t supposed to be there, how tired she was, how her kids didn’t have anybody at home, etc etc. My mother and I are very compassionate people and understood that it was late. I even APOLOGIZED for our inconvenience, but she straight up ignored us and continued to speak in a room volume (meaning everyone in the lobby could probably hear her) telling that coworker yet again, that she wants to go home. Finally, she decided she couldn’t do anything about it until the next morning when the manager came in, and took my mothers credit card to «have in the file.» At this point we were pretty skeptical, so the next morning my mother checked her bank account and of course, it was charged $ 152. Why did they charge my mother the first night when I have a confirmation that it has been already taken cared of? Makes no sense.
SECONDLY, I had stressed that the room I booked was for two beds, one sofa pull-​out. We were given keys to what looked like an unprepared room (used towels, dirty sheets) on the first floor with just one bed. That’s it. So I walk back out to the front desk and inform her this. Again she cut me off mid-​sentence telling me that was the last room they had since I «didn’t have a reservation», and they wouldn’t be able to help me until the next morning.
After being woken up three times from an apparent fire happening somewhere in the hotel, I told my mother I’d help her find another hotel that wouldn’t have so many issues. Why she decided to book an extra five more nights there, I will never understand.
If the lady who was taking care of us was wearing her name badge like everyone else was (presuming that she was ready to leave so bad), I wouldn’t have hesitated to call management on her. Please beware of a blonde/​fake redheaded front desk clerk with a little mouth on her and insincere apologies.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the interior was fantastic! 4 of us shared a room very comfortably. There was a spacious study/​living area with a large sofa set. I was in technology heaven because not only did I have free wifi, but it’s all set up to connect my iPad and watch my favorite video streaming!!! I could stay here forever!

We usually stay at the Hyatt place when we travel so it wasn’t hard to decide to stay at this place. Loved the location since everywhere we wanted to go is within a 10 min drive and there are so many shopping places around the area. The hotel itself is nice and clean and it looks like they recently remodeled their rooms. Still has that new furniture smell. They also have free hot breakfast every morning; that’s one of the reasons we love staying at hyatt place.

On a business trip, location is very important. And fortunately for me, it’s less than a mile from the offices where I had some training. It’s also less than a mile from the Galleria Mall, and about 20 restaurants within a five minute drive. 24 hour fitness, etc. I checked in a 4:00 PM. and the place wasn’t busy at all. Check in took less than 3 minutes because my company pre paid for the hotel, and I just had to give my credit card for incidentals and got a room on the 4^th floor. There was some construction going on, so the elevator was a little dirty, but no big deal. The clientele is mostly business travellers and some tourists, no trashy or whacko people — which may be a disappointment to the bored…
The room itself was nice, very decent size with a sofa. Actually, I watched some shows viewing their 42 inch LG TV on the sofa and dozed off. It was that comfortable. The bed I had was king sized and comfy too. What I like is that it’s covered with a white bedspread so that it doesn’t hide the body fluids that you cannot see on a colored heavy comforter (ugh!) in many other places. There was decent lighting, a decent work chair and desk, a sink and fridge, and you could make tea if you wanted. The bathroom was small. but the mirror and washing area was nice with a hair dryer and Bible inside the drawer. One thing that bugged me was there were no glasses to use for rinsing your mouth after brushing. So, I used the coffee cups meant for tea. Also, the towels are in a rack about 6 feet high, making it impossible for little people (midgets) to reach it. The best thing though was the free wi fi.
There is free breakfast in the morning and it was great. I grabbed a warm sandwhich and warm pastry, coffee, and proceeded to eat it in my room, but there are seats in the lobby. They also have a bar, but I didn’t frequent that. They do have food available ²⁴⁄₇ with mostly flat breads and salads, sandwhiches, etc. There are also some premade desserts and other things. Although there is a Wendy’s next door, and the Jersey Mike’s subshop across the street, it’s nice to have something when you can’t travel, esp. given the extremes in termperature outside.
I also didn’t use the pool or the exercise equipment. The one thing I wish they had was a self service laundry, I would’ve packed less clothes. There is a laundry supposedly not far from here, but there is definitely a dry cleaner a block away that can have your clothes ready the same day. Parking is adequate at this place, and there is a shuttle that will take you to local places, so I’m told but I had a rental car.
I really like thie hotel overall, and would stay here again.

2 stars for location and customer service.
I have been frequenting this property on work trips and during the past year it has gone downhill in terms of room cleanliness and property wear and tear in general.
Very disappointed.

Yet it’s s very good location close to major attractions and freeway. Nice window views from the top floor.

Stayed here 2 nights. Great location! Irina was extremely friendly and helpful at check in. The breakfast buffet was superior to other hotel breakfasts, though still looks like it was made in a factory somewhere. Nonetheless, I loved the breakfast sandwiches. Having coffee available after hours is a nice touch.
They have a bar! Well, really its a small granite counter and a table, but I really appreciated it when I needed a nightcap. Yea!
My room on the second floor was huge, but the sofa was threadbare and looked like it had seen 100s of people. They lost 1 star because if the furniture condition.
However the location and other amenities make up for it.

I don’t believe I’ll ever stay here again. Despite it’s reasonable price, great location and nice rooms. The terrible service really did them in.
Our first day there should’ve really let us know how the rest of the weekend was going to be. I specifically indicated that someone else would be be joining me and arriving separately. I stepped out of the hotel to buy some sundries at the nearest store and when I arrived my friend was exasperated in the lobby after having spoken to the clerk to let him in and being told he’d have to wait for me. We headed up to the room which was well appointed and… cleanish.
Its set up like a mini suite with a sleeping area and a sitting area, separated by a decorative wall panel. The room and the hotel seemed modern and tastefully decorated.
We took showers, got ready and started our weekend. At bedtime, the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were not supportive at all and very uncomfortable.
The next day rolls around and we were still getting ready at around 9−10am. Housekeeping down the hall so we put the sign that specifically said «Come back later» on the door, finished our ablutions, removed the sign from the door and headed out for the day while housekeeping was still on the floor. When we returned from our adventures at around 6pm, the room had not yet been cleaned. I called down to the front desk and asked if someone would be coming up later. They completely blew me off. They said their process is not to service the room at all if they see a sign on the door at all during the day. I thought that was ludicrous and every hotel I’ve ever stayed in has cleaned my room a little bit later if I had Do Not DIsturb on the door.
They sent a clerk to my room with a pile of towels, sheets and a pocketful of shampoo with the expectation that we’d re-​make our own bed.
The rest of the stay was similar. The elevators were dirty. Our carpet never looked that clean. It was really disappointing.

We booked a 2 double bed room and when we got there, they said they ran out of those types of rooms, so they put us in a single king bed room. There was another couple with us, so we had to sleep on the couch. It was inconvenient and annoying and they didn’t even do anything to make up for it. Not coming back.

It probably throws off people the fact that I rate this as a 2 star facility because it is a nice looking hotel in a fairly decent area. My experience was good at first and in fairness like I said the facility itself is nice. The front desk personnel were friendly and the breakfast was decent too (good for hotel breakfast). Here is the rub that completely ruined this hotel for me. My week of staying at the Hyatt came to an end, and at 10am I decided to start bringing my stuff to my car in preparation for checking out… But let it be known I was not checking out yet and not all of my stuff was out of the room yet. I make my first of what was supposed to be two trips down. I come back up and low and behold to my surprise all my remaining stuff is gone!!! I was literally gone for 5 minutes & NO I DID NOT LEAVE MY DOOR OPENED! I am very anal when it comes to making certain the door is closed and locked behind me. I then see there is a new set of sheets on my sofa… not on the bed, nothing else has been done just my stuff cleaned out.
I walk to the hallway to find someone where I find a guy. As I start to ask him what happened to my stuff, another lady comes up saying the same exact thing as me. He proceeds to tell me «I didn’t go into your room!» Funny enough after he says that he asks «what room is yours»? Then he tells me again «no I didn’t go into that room! Maybe the other maid did.» I check with her «no, no I no go in there». They say well maybe it was this other guy who magically appears at the end of the hall and as I turn to ask him he responds with «I didn’t go in your room» even before I ask him! It’s very obvious to me that there is something going on here, and then I just start tearing through the maids cart to find a few things and then I see another cart where I find the remaining items in a black garbage bag, however they all denied having anything to do with it.
I tried to inform the management and explain that they had gone into my room before I was checked out. Again the other lady is telling the the same story. After telling us that this is strange because they shouldn’t be cleaning a room till they are notified by the system she says ok let me check with the staff to see what’s going on. After «talking» with them she informs me that they thought I had checked out of the room since they saw me leaving. I remind her of what she just told me, and all I get was a we are really sorry. Needless to say I was pissed and won’t stay here again.
Fair warning to travelers that there are straight up crooks working at this place and you better keep an eye on your stuff if you are crazy enough to stay here.

This hotel is beyond great! Wonderful customer service from beginning till end. I have stayed at 5 star hotels in Vegas that didn’t make me feel this comfortable.
The staff at the Hyatt made me feel very comfortable during a 4 night stay for work. Every single employee was extremely professional and kind.
The best part of my stay was when I ordered an appetizer from the café. I went downstairs to pick it up, and then ordered a glass of wine. The appetizer comes on a tray which i had to carry up to my room. I didn’t want to spill the wine, so as I was about to leave it at the bar to come back and get it, one of the staff (i wish i remembered his name) offered to help me carry it up. He then offered to carry the tray since it was heavier than the wine, helped me all the way up to the 5^th floor and was pleased to do it. It’s little things like that, that gives a great customer experience.
I will stay here every time i come to Dallas!

Went here on business and sometimes this grade of hotel are hit or miss from a service perspective. At this Hyatt Place they really hit out-​performance in service. The staff was amazing and extremely conscientious of their guests. You really get five star service at this hotel. Great job on making my stay great. I will be staying here next time I am in town.

Come in after a long day of work and everything was very nice and had new towels and soap and everything was cleaned up very nicely. I also noticed they even replaced the sheetd which most hotels do not do on long term guests. I had money left on my desk and it was untouched. They keep exceeding my expectations.

Excellent hotel. Spacious rooms. Clean beds. Most of all, great people working there. They know how to treat their customers.

I stayed here for one night while I was in Dallas and the staff is very friendly and the rooms spacious and clean. There is no formal restaurant inside this hotel, but there is a steakhouse that is a 2 minute walk through the parking lot. Free wi-​fi.
