Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dallas/Stemmons Fwy

Airport shuttle is unreliable.
The room was clean and comfortable, but not overly nice. We chose this hotel based on location to Dallas Love airport, and because they told us they offered a free shuttle to airport starting at 7am. When we got to the desk in the morning to check out and get on shuttle, we were told that the shuttle would not be available until later in the day. As a result, our morning was stressful trying to make our morning flight.

Well, the room was nice. King non smoking. I took us 3 times to make a reservation, no email confirmation either.
Now to the real reason this gets 2 stars. The Internet here is GARBAGE. It’s 2015… Dallas. Come on. I walk over and ask the, what I thought was nice lady, at the front desk– the one with the hijab. Yeah you are the rudest person I have ever met. Here is how the conversation went.
Me– Hi, how are you. Is there something wrong with the internet.
Rude lady– Nope its just fine. We have a full house. It’s just you.
Me– Really? So it’s just me and my friend having the same issue? I don’t think. …
Rudy lady– (cuts me off to answer the phone)
Me– I walk back to the conference room and let my friend know how rude she was.
Rude lady– Walks back in with a sticky note. This is our tech support, call them and they will help you. Then walks out.
Congrats, you are the winner of the day for douchelord of the hotel.

It is nice. the front staff are cool. They got only one elevator. at times. there it smells like someone took a nice smoke break there. But I do not care! The room is clean and nice, no noise. They got a gym and outdoor pool. Have not tried any of them, but looked clean. I will have NO problem staying here again.

So I am staying here due to work my manager booked the room I know for a fact she didn’t ask for a preference on room style just what ever was available.
So I come in at 1:45 to do early check in to insure I get a room w just one bed. No one was at the counter… she was off to the right side of the counter where u couldn’t see here we had to say excuse me for her to even turn toward us and speak. I explain I need to check in and she starts the process. She is demanding a credit card be on file… there was already a company credit card on file so I refuse. She was very rude to me about this kept telling me I had to I said no ma’am I will not u have a company credit card on file u can use it.
So then I’m asking to ensure that I get a bed large enough for my husband and I both to sleep in and she is telling me that my room was booked for a two bed room instead of the king bed… Not true! Then proceeds to tell me its based on availability… I’m sorry but this place is basically on a strip of men’s clubs and is in a not so great area seems like. So I find it hard to believe this place w the completely empty parking lot is rented up but I give her the benefit of the doubt… so next during the conversation due to the room she has the audacity to tell me i had an attitude! As if me being upset by how rude she was is not an excuse to have an attitude. Why yes u act like that and I will break out my attitude I find it odd the person who really doesn’t act like she cares if she has a job or not wants me to drop the attitude that I have due to the fact she is a rude and incompetent jerk?!
Infuriated me! So manager is not in on a Sunday and I am now here in the room closest to the doors so I hear every one coming and going and the parking lot yes is still empty now at 7:40.
When I came into the hotel this evening it was a different person at the counter and I walked by 3 times and they never looked up or even spoke to me. I think these people need some customer service training!
As for the room it self. It stinks and the couch is absolutely disgusting looking. The mini fridge is several decades old and I’m surprised it works! Besides that its not awful but its nothing worth coming back for or wanting to stay.
I will post another review after I speak to the manager tomorrow. But as for now they need negative stars as far as I’m concerned.
I can say I was in the holiday inn express in Irving in Dallas and it was wonderful! Great ppl excellent room.

Room is pretty nice on 3^rd floor but hallway stinks of smoke. View of Starbucks and Waffle House from the room.
Breakfast had quite a variety but I was disappointed that there wasn’t a waffle iron. There was a pancake maker I didn’t try… and some yummy cinnamon rolls. Yay! Special K berries in the cereal dispenser along with Raisin Bran and a couple other kinds of cereal.
Wifi kept dropping. Room cards had to be replaced 2 times already and it’s not even been 18 hours. Interesting sign in the bathroom: charges for the irons, blow dryers, pillows, towels, etc. in case you decide to buy one.
No binder with hotel info or local area restaurants. They have Time Warner here as of 3 weeks ago. I had to call to ask so I could look up the football game info on my app. The LG flat screen TV was nice but no Guide on the remote.
Also found out that because I booked thru Hotwire, I’m not eligible to use the airport shuttle. :-/​Not sure if that applies to the fitness center. I haven’t tried it yet.
I was disappointed to find our room was across from the elevator but THANKFULLY the walls are somewhat soundproof, at least to most hallway noise. The little kids next door this morning were pretty noisy and easily heard thru the locked suite doors.

I flew in arriving by taxi. Travis just what I like and expect in friendly Texas-​hospitable and helpful with room check in and neighborhood. Nadia got me taxi as well. Room on top floor was quiet, overlooked I-​35E freeway; hotel near access to Metroplex attractions. Breakfast great, plenty of choices. Only regret shuttle van doesn’t go out on weekends-​no driver after a previous accident with another van so I had to get a taxi for a Saturday check out, and the taxi arrival was slow! Hotel near food within walking distance.

Good comfortable hotel in Dallas. Spacicous room with microwave & mini-​refrigerator, fitness center, outdoor pool, and free wifi. It was pretty centally located to the places I wanted to check out in downtown & North Dallas. On– & off-​ramps were close by too. Reasonable rates and lots of complimentary parking. Someplace to keep in the mix whenever I make it back to Dallas. Someplace to recommend and repeat!

I check out tomorrow. The hotel is cool. Nothing special.
I’m not really a knit picker. But I guess in order to give an accurate review I would have to be.
I got the hotel on Hotwire and the address is on West Northwest Hwy. The building isn’t even faced in that direction. It’s on Shady Trail. Thats annoying to me when I already don’t know where I’m going. But its all good!
I pulled up and went to the front desk. The staff wasn’t as friendly as I would like, but not rude either. Just kinda bla… «credit card and ID please… here’s your room key» Even though I’m not listening most of the time, I like for the check-​in clerk to tell me about some of the amenities the hotel has to offer. Maybe she was tired!
Anyway I went up to my room. The room is cool for the price. Nothing special.
The gym downstairs looked decent. I didn’t use the gym though.
Oh yea and I checked out the breakfast. I wasn’t a fan. I heard that Holiday Inn Express had the best breakfast… LIES!!!
Its cool for what it is. If Hotwire gave it to me again, I wouldn’t be mad!!!

Very clean rooms… no ICK factor… clean hallways… good little gym… I travel for work EVERY week and I do like to give credit where due when it comes to hotels.
The front desk staff working each shift were all very nice and professional

For $ 77 a night, this is a great place to stay, assuming your catalytic converter doesn’t get stolen. Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Definitely recommend a room away from the freeways (ask for a room overlooking the pool) as the road noise from TWO roads is quite loud.

I stayed there on Aug 14, 2012. My car’s catalytic converter was stolen there overnight. I reported the incident to the police and the hotel manager and learned that the hotel only has security cameras inside but none in the parking area because the owner did not want to be responsible for the parking lot security. WHAT AN IRRESPONSIBLE EXCUSE!!! I also learned that the same incident happened to another vehicle on the same night in the same parking lot. My one night trip ended up cost me an extra night since I had to get my car repaired. DON’T stay there until the owner is responsible enough to place security cameras in the parking area for YOUR safety.
