Don’t stay here. Wifi is trash. Toilets don’t flush right, old and musty. The pizza in the restaurant is 13.00 bucks and I swear to god it’s a Digornio pizza. Can’t believe they can high buck like that. One washer and dryer and currently as of 11÷19÷15 the washer from 1984 is broken. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Terrible train noise as well. Hallways are cold always. Room is musty and old Tvs. Free breakfast is the only thing that’s good and by good I mean adequate. Wouldn’t stay here again.

This hotel was what I expected. The staff was professional and assisted me when I asked. Parking was free, which is rare in that part of town. The fitness room was small but it worked for me because no one else was there when my lady and I were there. The water was hot, the bed was great and the pillows fit right in. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting and not looking to pay $ 150+ per night.

Perfect for utsw interview, great special rate, decent room, friendly. Don’t take a cab ($ 21 flat for 3 mi!)

I had a pretty nice room, but that’s also because I had a discounted suite that was 50% marked down with a conference discount. I really don’t maximize the use of my hotel rooms — I don’t use the coffee machine, order room service, etc., so I can’t really comment on that. A couple notes though:
The ironing board could have used some kind of lubricant or something. It made an ungodly sound when I opened it.
The Wi-​fi sucks. I was here for six days; on the best day, I could load Yahoo’s homepage in like 5 seconds. On the worst day, I had to switch back and forth between all of their Wi-​fi networks (still not clear as to why there are so many), restart my computer several times, and go do other stuff for 15 minutes. This was not particularly helpful when trying to load stuff like Google Maps, Unilocal,or the DART webpage, that while not image-​intensive, are also not basic HTML pages and which are kind of important for non-​locals.
Water pressure in the sink was terrible. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t to conserve water either.
It’s kind of a weird location. It’s not that far from a DART station, but the area is a bit sketchy at night when it’s dark and no one’s around. There’s really not much within walking distance except the okay diner next door, and it’s pretty isolated from other hotels as well. The nearest thing is probably the medical district. It’s much easier if you have a car obviously. The train runs behind the hotel, so if you’re a very light sleeper, you might have problems, but it’s not a loud area overall.
Finally, I left really early in the morning, like pre-​6 AM, and like every other hotel, was just going to leave my keys in the room and leave since I’d already paid on my credit card. Five minutes before I left, an envelope with my receipt, requiring my signature, got slipped under my door; it was lucky timing, but I can only imagine the chaos that would have ensued if that had arrived even a bit late. Be aware and maybe ask to sign when you check in.

Don’t stay here, please.
We booked our weekend here because everything else was booked.
The rooms are old, outdated, and stuffy.
Furniture doesn’t match and is full of stains. Our pull out couch was so old the cushions were flat from wear.
Our toilet was a nightmare… it was on the verge of overflowing at every single flush.
The water pressure sucked.
The coffee machine wouldn’t work.
They had a sign at the entrance that said breakfast was $ 10!
We called front desk for TP and had to call them back 20 min later because they forgot.
Worst of all, they refolded towels that were left on the floor!
I used a towel and left a makeup stain on it, I placed it on the floor with the other towels we needed replaced and the next day I grabbed a towel and it was the same one!
Next time we stay in Dallas during a high volume weekend we will def book our hotel with plenty of time so we don’t get stuck in a place like this.

Tailgate got stolen over night in the parking lot and I told front desk and said probably be same guys that have been breaking into people’s cars.

Wow where do I start. Everywhere you go it stinks and it’s dirty. Nasty carpets we had to wear sandals at all times. Cheap unprofessional repairs needs updating badly. Not at all like the pictures you see online. It was noisy because the train kept going by. Water that doesn’t stay at the same temperature when you’re showering. Bathroom sink is falling off, toilet seat is loose, toilet itself has deep stains very nasty its really comical. Our room was hot they have some kind of water evaporator that couldn’t keep up. What kind of management runs this?

Cockroaches!!!
i usually never right reviews like this but this time i really had to.
6 in the morning i wake up to go to the restroom and almost step on a gigantic COCKROACH!
i called the front desk and the staffs were very unprofessional and rude. Did not even apologize.
Manager tells me they have no cockroach problems… (huh!?) than states that Texas has a lot! of cockroaches and all hotels in Texas has cockroach problems… (again… huh!?)
He also said. these kind of problems are like bed bugs… they are not preventive issues… when they get reported then they fix it…
I really don’t expect very much for Holiday Inn… but cockroaches and bed bugs… and customer service like this from a Hotel Manager… is very unacceptable, very unprofessional.
would not recommend anyone… to stay here. Will ruin your strip.
I do travel a lot for business purposes so I know how hotels are.
P. S. i have a friend who stayed here few month ago and he told me he found cockroach as well…

I would warn anyone who even considers staying at this hotel. The front desk staff were very nice to me and upgraded my room to a suite on the top floor (the 9^th). As I headed up in the elevator I thought that this would be a great stay. I was on the top floor and at the end of the hall, far away from the elevator and anyone else that would disturb me. Upon opening my door I truly discovered what some of the reviews had warned about.
I had stains on almost every piece of furniture in my room. This suite was large so there was plenty of old, stained furniture. The chair looked as if someone had sat in it for hours sweating. I had to put an extra sheet from the closet on the chair to feel comfortable enough to sit down. The carpet was so disgusting and had more stains that the wretched furniture. It was so unbelievable to me that the staff would not take more pride in this establishment. The smell was extremely old and stuffy. The bathroom was updated and was the nicest part of the room. The bed also seemed clean, had it not I would definitely not have stayed. I wish I had taken pictures of the furniture to prove this is no exaggeration of just how nasty this hotel is.
I drop my things off at the room and headed out to get something to eat. When I return, I see a man exiting a cab out front and walking in right before me. We both get on the elevator and the man looks at me and says, «so this place is kind of a dump huh?» I acknowledge that I think it’s old and appears to be dirty. As the man leaves the elevator he tells me good luck and that he is checking out to find another hotel. I only wish I had done the same. I had settled in too much to hunt for another hotel.
If you’ve read this all please do not make the same mistake I made by staying. I can assure you that you will be sadly disappointed. On the other hand, if you like free beer on Tuesday night from 5 – 7 and you are willing to stomach the stay then this may just be your place.

Good luck getting anything done or requested (Shuttle etc…) because all you’ll get is unpleasant attitudes from the front desk agents. Weird weird people from management to front desk staffs.
Room: Cold & Heater doesn’t work, if you want heater, engineering guy will come to your room fix here & there, still doesn’t work… (seemed heaters cannot be turned on /​off by guests; so weird)
Parking; difficult in & out, have signs everywhere saying park at your own risk, apparently not secure at all…

I booked this hotel online on Priceline and it was definitely cheaper. I was upset that there was no complementary breakfast but I understand we were downtown and hotels do this to increase revenue.
There were several things wrong with the room, which were the carpet being dirty and the fridge not working. This was disappointing as I’ve never had these problems at a holiday Inn. In addition my friend got bit when he slept on the floor which freaked all of us out. My friend called the front desk and the manager rectify the situation. Unfortunately the room he put us in did not have a microwave or fridge so we had to call downstairs again.
The manager did give us several food voucher so that was nice but there needs to be some change to make the visitor’s stay better. Not sure if I would go back.

The rooms may be fine BUT we parked a car there for three hours. We wanted to catch the shuttle to WTC for market. When we returned the passenger window had been broken out and items stolen. There were two other vehicles broken into during that same time frame. This was in the afternoon. They do not have any security and have had many break ins this week.
The policeman said they have this happen a lot.
Park at your on risk or stay some where else.

I have mixed reviews about this place.
For a motel it was meh — okay. It wasn’t terrible, but then it wasn’t the BEST. The receptionist was very friendly, and I was greeted upon arrival with an easy check-​in.
Unfortunately they put my husband and I in a smoking room, when we asked for non-​smoking room. Since we were just there one day, we stuck it out since it was booked.
The room was dated, and very old. The mattress creaked a lot, and the smell of smoke was definitely not pleasant.
In the midst of the smoking room, kudos to the different types of pillows though! Also, the free breakfast in the morning was one of the best selections i’ve seen from a holiday inn or equal places. I seriously have to say that breakfast selection upped a star.

yes 5 stars for a holiday inn. it was very updated/​remodeled and great location. the rooms were very spacious and it was a pleasant surprise. price was reasonable. will be back.

The guys that man the front desk are quite possibly the nicest and friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever come across. The hotel is in a great location and always seemed to be about 3 – 5 miles from wherever I wanted to go (except DFW). You get free parking, which I have to believe is rare for somewhere so close to downtown and so-​so free wi-​fi. The rooms may be a little worn in spots, but that’s just proof that a lot of people have stayed there and there’s good reason for that. A great place — I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

I gave this hotel a second chance and I am beyond pleased I did. It was a wonderful night. The staff was so nice and everything was peaceful. It was a great stay.

WiFi during the weekend of July 3^rd has been awful — any of the wifi signals. It is extremely slow and drops frequently.

Soooo it’s my last night– winter storm is coming down outside and i might not make my flight tmrrw bc of delays. After my first review I did experience a boost of heat frm HVAC, but other odd (or disturbing?) things started happening… Gurgles frm the sink (possibly caused by either the laundry rm across the hall or someone taking a shower? After all, I DID here a shower knob turn and a rush of water frm another rm) strange hairs… and tonight, the tip of the iceberg (really not the fault of anyone in direct contact w me, but damn can’t management «manage» the hotel upkeep a bit better?!) no heat… And let me not say ABSOLUTELY no heat, I mean the HVAC is stuck blowing cool air out. Abt as cool as a sun kissed breeze… Touching 70? Anyway, it’s gonna get in the 20s tonight, too bad I didn’t bring my damn long socks and long johns, bc I def would’ve done that had I known I was going to a dilapidated old building in a beat down neighborhood and almost no proximity to anything terribly exciting… I was prepped for this kinda thing as a broke ass grad student. Not now tho… Nope. Def not. :-/​
For what’s it’s worth tho, I DID receive breakfast vouchers and points on my rewards accounts– and most places I wanna go r within a few miles of here. But then again, I’ve also been feelin really really itchy this week, and have had some interesting bumps pop up on my arms and face. Never been one to complain or anything, and I haven’t seen critters, but I’ve also not been blessed w seeing the dirty bum who smokes in the hallway. Grrrr. Type of clientele for the price and the locality I suppose. ;(

I needed a hotel that was really close to the American Airlines Center and this one fit the bill. Upon checking in, the receptionist was not really friendly, but whatever. all I cared about was getting to my room. That, however, was not an easy task because there appeared to be a screw-​up with my reservation. I had booked a room about a month in advance for a double bed suite, but she insisted that it was only a king bed. I had two other people with me – nope, not going to happen. Frustrated, I was about to pull up the confirmation email on my iPhone until she noticed her error. Problem solved.
I have to agree with the other Unilocalers. This place could definitely use some renovating — It appeared worn and outdated. Thankfully, our room was clean so I guess that’s all that matters. When I first walked into the lobby, I caught a whiff of stale cigarette smoke from the lounge nearby. Bleh.
/​/​Parking: Free. Security is really good and they roam around in golf carts. I felt secure as I was walking through the lot late at night
/​/​Priority Club: No swag bag, but you get a voucher for two free bottled waters, free appetizer from Kem’s restaurant, and a cocktail from the lounge
/​/​Wi-​Fi: Very slow and almost unusable
/​/​Food: No free breakfast. Room service available

This is one of the older Holiday Inns that I have stayed in all my travels. The building looks old and the hallways are outdated and dull. The floor layout is a little confusing and the location isn’t within walking distance of much but a diner next door.
However — being a fan of Holiday Inn the check in process was quick. the rooms are spacious and clean and the wi-​fi is free.
I wish I knew there was a train track near by — doesn’t seem to run at night so that’s nice. Other than that — this location is conveniently right off the freeway and though not walking distant, it is driveable in any direction to find what you need.
