Hinga squeezed me in at the end of the day for a quick oil change on a 5.0L F150. The best part: he gave me a full discount for bringing my own oil. Sounds simple, but most oil/​lube places will only give you a $ 5 discount for bringing in $ 50 worth of oil. I walked out with a fair bill of $ 30 for labor and filter. Hinga has owned this business for 30 years and he’s won me over as a repeat customer. Would recommend for maintenance and general/​light repairs.

Support your local biz. Hinga is very nice and trustworthy. I know the city has been trying to push them out for 8 years but for some reason they have held on. Always take my car here immediately as they price very reasonably and I know theres no bs taking place.

I came in for an oil change and to have my window looked at. Hinga is an awesome guy, super friendly and honest. The repair guy couldn’t look at the window that day so I came back a day later as asked by Hinga. The oil change was $ 40, the window needed a new piece which he ordered on the spot and I paid for. A few days later it was installed free of charge! It’s nice to have a mechanic I can trust. After thanking him, he said he has sisters and hopes they are treated as well as he treats his female customers.

Simply awesome! The nicest staff and helped me fix my auto issue in no time. Highly recommend.

Updated to add, took my car in yesterday to ask if I needed a new battery after having some trouble. Hinga took a look at it immediately, diagnosed the problem and ordered a battery. Can’t beat the service or individual attention here. Not to mention more reasonable prices than the pesky dealership.

I’m sorry you guys I really wish this review could have been a positive one. I read the reviews which is why I gave him a call on Tuesday June 9^th requesting an estimate for my vehicle. I gave them all the details requested and I was told they would get back to me at the latest Wednesday. I even mentioned that I would like to have the work done the same week if possible. Unfortunately I never received a call back and it’s been a week. I’m sure they do awesome work but it was really disappointing as a potential new customer not to receive a call back.

Hinga Automotive is the only auto repair company I fully trust in the Dallas area. They always provide me with fantastic service and low prices.
Hinga and his wife know who I am when I call and make me feel like I am truly being taken care of. The results ring true, once they repair my Subaru I don’t have to return for the same issue. When it comes to my safety and large car expenses I feel like I have finally found a family business I want to support again and again.

Title: They Saved our Lives!
We were driving from Florida to Dallas when our car developed a loud knocking sound. It seemed to get worse and louder the longer we drove. Seeing as how we had to drive back to Florida, we decided to have our car checked out by someone in Dallas.
Not knowing the area, we tried searching the Internet and found the excellent reviews for Hinga Automotive and decided to call them. It’s a good thing we did! Mrs Hinga told us to come to their shop. When Mr Hinga heard our story and about our upcoming trip, he put his other jobs aside and went with my husband for a ride in our car to hear the noise firsthand.
When they came back to the shop, Mr Hinga put our car up on the rack to try and find the source of the noise.
After careful scrutiny Mr Hinga found that 3 of the lug nuts on the driver’s side front tire were lose… and only hand tightened! The other 2 lug nuts were snapped off! The tire was so wobbly it could have fallen off anytime during our trip! And to think that we had been driving at 70 mph in Texas, through the heavy rain! It was a miracle that the wheel had not fallen off, crashing the car, and killing us!
It was especially disheartening to think we had just put 4 new tires on our car several weeks ago!
My Hinga tightened the lose lug nuts, and drilled out and replaced the 2 broken lug nuts. This consumed 4 hours of his busy time!
He and his wife both took the time to help us and we will be forever grateful.
Hinga Automotive saved our lives.
You would be wise to bring your automotive needs to them. We will the next time we’re in Dallas.

Hinga’s is awesome… Quick turn around on any repairs and they always stick as close to their estimate as possible… If they think that the work may go over estimate, they always call and confirm… We trust all our family vehicles to Hinga’s!

I only chose Hinga’s because of the outstanding Unilocal reviews. These are misleading. I had a bad experience because when I arrived, it was hard to park, and once I got in, the woman at the desk never looked at me or greeted me. She was on a personal call on her cell phone for ten minutes or so while I waited. The shop was a mess and the longer I sat without acknowledgment, the more uncomfortable I became. I asked the girl next to me if she had been helped, but she didn’t speak English. When the woman at the desk got off her phone, she asked which one of us was next. I said that I didn’t know, so she said that she thought the girl next to me was next. I asked her if they were too busy to do my inspection and she said maybe they were, so I told her I was leaving. Glad I left. I am getting appropriate service at Kwik Kar now. Go to Kwik Kar! The Unilocal reviews for Hinga’s are bogus.

I will only go to Hinga’s from now on! They are honest, fast, experienced and well priced.
I’ve always been nervous about mechanics because I’ve been taken advantage of more than once. Hinga’s has always given me the very best service and never tries to take advantage of your situation.

This is the only car place I will go to from now on! Very reasonably priced and fast repair.

This man is the truth!!!
I came into town from San Antonio and my front tire started making a humming sound. I was pretty sure it was my bearings since I had this problem with a different tire back in SA. I show up at Hingas and he confirmed the bearings were shot. He also pointed out other problems (that I was aware of but never fixed). He changed bearings and wheel hubs on two tires, an axel and rotor. I expected an invoice for about $ 1200. This is what other @$$hole mechanics had quoted me. Well, I ended up paying less than half that. He was aware that I was on a tight budget and wanted to help. I know a little bit about cars (my cars) and I know the things he fixed we real problems not just up sales.
This man just gained my business forever and endless referrals.

A knowledgeable mechanic and fair prices. The work was fairly quick considering I’ve only seen Mr. Hinga and one other guy there working on vehicles, aside from the very kind secretary. I had questions regarding the repair, and Mr. Hinga walked me through what the problem was and what was necessary to fix it. After I left with my car, the check engine light emerged once more. I brought the car back and the issue was resolved at no labor cost. Be it an American or foreign car (i drive a vw), I will recommend this mechanic to anyone in dallas that is tired of being ripped off by the dealerships.

If Hinga was running for the president, I’d vote for him. I found him by Unilocal and forever am indebted to Unilocal because of it. I’ve been to him now several times and always impressed by his honesty, integrity and fair prices. First time I went in was to replace some parts to fix my check engine. He bought the part and then called me, as he didn’t want me to spend the money until he was 100% sure it was the correct part. He didn’t charge me for any diagnosis. I was blown away. Long story short, ended getting it repaired by him a day passed inspection soon after. He has already changed my oil and I’ll use him as long I live in Dallas.

I have taken both my cars here and am relieved to find a mechanic that I can trust. Hinga explains everything as clearly his accent will allow. He answered all my questions with a confidence, given you the peace of mind that he knows what he’s talking about. Hinga gives a full explanation of the issues and the potential causes.
I walked away not feeling the need to call CarTalk on NPR, the Tappet brothers have nothing on this guy!

It was a Saturday evening and my car died in the middle of a small road because the alternator went out. I looked online for a shop to tow my car to. Hinga’s shop had good reviews so I chose this one. However, the shop was already closed for the day.
I called the phone number on the Unilocal page and Hinga actually picked up even though it was after hours. Because my car has an aftermarket gps/​stereo, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it outside of the gates of his shop. Hinga took the time to drive to the shop to unlock the gate for me way after the shop closed for the weekend.
Because the shop wasn’t open on Sunday, he gave me a call Monday morning with the issue (alternator) and the price. Not only was his price extremely fair, but my car was fixed by 4 PM the same day.
Really nice guy. Really knowledgeable. Really great service.
I will absolutely be coming here for future repairs.

Yesterday, I was scrambling all over North Dallas/​Plano/​Richardson looking for the perfect apartment. I looked high and lo, and then I finally found the one I liked. (Yay, I move next month. Raise. the. Roof. Woof.)
As I’m leaving said appointment in preparation to celebrate, my car conks out. I thought it was in need of coolant; purchased coolant. No, that’s not it. Thought my car needed a few hours to chill. Went to Starbucks. Chilled. No, that wasn’t it either.
Ended up getting two jumpstarts. My car made it partway down 75 South before it completely shut off. I ended up getting my car towed home, then looked up places to go. Hinga’s Automotive stuck out because of the positive reviews. Even the very unfavorable one seemed overrun by the positive reactions to be had by this company’s service.
I called them at 9. Hinga himself answered. He said if I brought the car, he’d be ready to look at it. Well, I got it towed to the shop, waited 20 minutes, and he explained my battery was dead. They were going to charge it, then provide a diagnostic because it seemed my alternator had gone bad.
Soooooo it was a lot of waiting and walking around the block… and the estimate was pretty high but I got my car fixed and it is what it is. They charged for the battery getting charged (I didn’t know that was being charged, but whatever!)
All I know is Hinga handled my car and fixed it — like a boss. And now I’m driving… and I’ll more than likely be back to get my thermostat housing handled.
All in all, Hinga was quick and respectful. He took care of my issue and I didn’t have to wait four million days for it to get done.

Mr. Hinga and crew communicated with me, charged me a great price and listened to inspirational music on my Sirius while they fixed my car. They got me a courtesy ride to work downtown right after I signed the paperwork and gave me a clear, itemized estimate and bill.
One of the parts I wanted was pricey so Mr. Hinga called me to confirm, even though I’d signed off. Courteous and thankful for my business, my oil change sticker is legible and the math was just right.
