H&R Block

I went to H&R Block last year to get my taxes looked at.
Using the H&R Block tax software, it looked like I was going to owe more than the previous year with roughly the same income and changes to my W-​4. Further complicating my tax situation was a job change, 401k rollover, and a S-​Corp that I have on the side. [Turns out, this really doesn’t complicate a whole lot because tax software can walk you through it all.]
Previous to last year, I did taxes myself with the help of Turbo Tax or H&R Block’s tax software.
The results were basically identical and I had to pay $ 375 for the consult in addition to already owing the IRS. Bummer! What is funny is they provide a report that says how much money you saved. So allegedly I save around $ 15,000 by using them. In reality, that number is the amount of the itemized deductions, sales tax, and other applicable deductions. In reality, they COST me $ 375.
The other thing that freaked me out was the lady was able to pull up my return that I was working on via the home software! So apparently they store that information in their centralized database.
