Geppetto’s is the new home to Le Theatre de Marionette. In this fast-paced, technological world it’s sometimes hard to find charming old-world entertainment your kids will enjoy. Geppetto’s offers ‘electronics-free’ family fun that everyone will love in the form of marionette shows presented in a live theater environment.
History
Established in 1992.
Geppetto’s Theater and Workshop is now the new home to the Le Theatre de Marionette puppet shows. Le Theatre was founded in 1992 in Arlington, TX and has performed countless shows for children and families in the DFW area and Texas. Their first theater opened in downtown Arlington but relocated to Northpark Center in 1995. In 2000, a second location opened in Fort Worth, In 2004, the theaters were closed and Le Theatre entered into agreements with the Texas Commission of the Arts to perform in schools, museums, libraries and festival events and fairs. In 2013, plans were launched to open a new permanent theater for their staged marionette shows. Geppetto’s Theater opened in June of 2014.

Starting at Six Flags Over Texas in 1975, John Hopkins began what turned into a lifetime career in children’s entertainment. Mr. Hopkins has worked for numerous entertainment companies including Children’s Television Workshop — Aniforms and Sid and Marty Krofft Television. A wood craftsman at heart, John created Le Theatre de Marionette in 1992 in Arlington, Texas when he transformed the then-defunct Greyhound bus station into a family theater and local children’s attraction. The theater moved to NorthPark Center in Dallas in 1995. John has been the driving force in fabrication and design of the marionettes for Le Theatre over the last 20+ years. He has also constructed countless puppets, sets, and props for companies across America. John has built three other theaters since that first opening in 1992, and maintains the production facility for the Le Theatre touring programs. John resides in Flower Mound with his wife Patrice and son Gavin.
