FLOSS Dental – Uptown

Pretty frustrating am. I’m pregnant and new to town. I made a new patient appointment at Floss and told them I was pregnant when I made the appointment– like all the pregnancy books say to do. Then, when I got there I wrote that I am pregnant on all of the forms that I filled out, but when I reminded the hygienist of my pregnancy she looked shocked, went to ask someone, and then told me that they can’t see me without a doctor’s note. So, I wasted precious leave hours from my new job on an admin problem that could have been solved with one sentence. It would have been really helpful to know that I needed a note when I made the appointment weeks ago. Can I really trust a dentist who can’t get the admin together with my teeth/​health? Getting the note and taking it elsewhere.

Me and my fiancé really love Floss Dental. I’ve been a patient of this dental office location for 2 years and I recently referred my fiancé here and he loves it. Everyone is so wonderful and friendly here!!! We’re planning on coming back to get the rest of our dental work done here soon. I would recommend to everyone to come here. I’m picky about who I choose to go to but they are the greatest and I would not go anywhere else!!!

Love it here! So nice and clean and they take me immediately every time I’m there. The girls at the front desk are great and help me tons with any questions I have. Everyone there is very welcoming and helpful. Great location in Uptown Dallas. Got a deep cleaning and fillings there, usually I am so scared of any pain… However it didn’t hurt a bit! I definitely recommend this place. To my understanding they were under different management which is why they have some one star reviews but new management has made this place such a positive great experience, for a trip to the dentist haha.

I can not say enough great things about my recent experience here. The staff was so comforting and very friendly and you can really tell that every employee truly loves their job. Dr Korous is the best dentist I have ever gone to. After having some major dental work done, She personally called me that evening to check on me and did the same the next day. I highly recommend Floss (uptown location) to anyone looking for a new dentist.

The dentist is never fun but the sexy men working there make the pain not as bad lol it’s amazing what a little eye candy can do

I admit that I have extreme anxiety about going to the dentist… the idea of drills and needles is enough to make me call and cancel my appointment at the last minute. But the staff at Floss Dental (Cedar Springs Location) are so awesome — they deal with me with excellent care! And, they are always super positive and friendly.
If you’re in search of a great dentist in the Dallas area I highly recommend Floss Dental and their amazing staff!

Excellent dental experience today at Floss on Cedar Springs. I had a bad experience with my last dentist and needed a fresh start.
Referral for Dr. Scott came from my fiancé. I couldn’t have been more pleased and comfortable with a dentist than I was today with Dr. Scott. He is going to fix the mess my last dentist tried to save with practically a band aid.
I am usually very nervous at the thought of… dun dun dunnn … The dentist, but the staff immediately put me at ease. The technology and equipment seemed much more advanced than my last dentist. Can’t wait to finish the repairs and I am even getting Invisalign done! I am not sure which dentist those other Unilocalers saw but I imagine they are gone. Dr. Scott was great, funny and explained what I needed and didn’t need.
Hallelujah found a new dentist I can trust!

Do not trust Floss with your teeth or your time. I was new in town and got totally sucked into the chain dental concept because I wanted the free whitening treatment. NOT worth it. They told me I had a cavity in between two teeth and the young woman that filled it, while super polite and friendly, was so inexperienced. She could not get my mouth numb and I had feeling in the tooth throughout!
Fast forward one month: the filling comes out while flossing. Not a great experience and certainly not one I had ever had with my previous dentist. I called the after hours line and was able to get some advice to patch the tooth up until I could get in. At my next appointment, the same woman was STILL unable to get my mouth numb (after multiple shots… seriously probably 10+ so fun) so again I felt the filling being put in. I just wanted to get out of there at that point.
Here’s the real kicker — they charged me for the x-​rays they took to FIX my filling that was improperly installed. I’m pretty sure the whole place is a scam and everyone is fresh out of dental school. No one at the front desk knows what they are doing when dealing with insurance either. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Dr. Korous and her team are great. I’ve gone for my routine check up and also currently doing Invisalign with them. They are always working together and treat me like a person, an individual, not just another patient. The atmosphere is calm, even when extremely busy.
Overall, I’d say go there if you want to keep up on your dental health, if you haven’t been and there’s more serious issues you need to address I can’t speak for that. I know i’d feel comfortable working with Dr. Korous and her expertise with any future concerns .
I’m happy with my results and their overall performance thus far.

Absolutely terrible experience. While the office is clean, updated, and fancy, they seem to put more effort into their décor than their profession. The staff were all pleasant to be honest, but the dentist was belittling, condescending, and borderline sexist. I would never go back here.
First, they insisted on taking TONS of X-​rays even though I expressed that I was not comfortable with the amount and requested several times to limit the number. To make matters worse, they did not have a protective apron/​bib with a flap to protect your neck. I told them that thyroid cancer runs in my family and I needed to protect my neck, but they did not take my concerns very seriously.
Then the dentist spent more time flirting with me than doing his job. After a cursory look in my mouth he said everything was great, no cavities. Except I knew I lost a filling on a back molar and the hole had expanded significantly, so large that I could easily feel it with my finger. And he missed it, until I asked him what he thought we should do about it as he was halfway out the door.
Then after a second look (only at my insistence), he says I need a crown and maybe also my wisdom tooth removed. When I asked for a breakdown of the cost and an explanation of how and when he’d decide whether my wisdom tooth actually needed removed, he brushed it off as if I’m not to worry about those silly details, and he’d just make the call on the fly (while I’m unconscious of course). I ended up getting the answers I needed after some aggressive questioning, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off and I did not like it.
I ended up going to my parents’ dentist in Plano, who I knew was professional and has a thorough but conservative approach to dentistry. They are fantastic and even though they don’t bill directly to my insurance (I have to submit everything on my own) and I have to drive all the way up there, I am so glad I’m going there now. Don’t regret it at all.

I like this place. The staff is friendly (and alarmingly attractive) and the facility is new and has they latest and most up to date technlogy.

I actually had a really great experience here and was skeptical because of the current star rating.
the hygienist I wish i could remember her name and Dr. Steffans were both so cordial and thorough. I have had some slight staining on the back of my molars that my child hood dentist told me when I graduated from college and had to get on my own plan that bad dentists just out for money would tell me they were cavities and try to get me to fix them for the insurance pay out (never had a cavity before). That indeed happened to me a few times now by other dentists which had made me very skeptical of trying new ones.
My dental hygienist and Dr. Steffans though both told me I had staining (which i was aware of but didn’t mention) and that the molars were completely fine but to continue paying extra special attention to the area when brushing to make sure nothing happens. It was so great finding honest dental professionals not trying to gouge me or rip me off that I have found in both Houston and Dallas and I will continue to go back now because of that. The teeth whitening was definitely an added perk though, great experience all around!

Stay away if you want a root canal.
Had a root canal done by one of their so called «specialist» (endodontist) and it got infected and I had to get it redone by someone who actually knew what they were doing. A green piece of moldy cotton was taken out on the second take. Yeah, no wonder the tooth was killing me. New endodontist said it was definetly infected and they didn’t even go all they way up to kill all the root.
If you need a root canal, please, do NOT go here. Go to an actual professional who knows what they’re doing.

I came to Floss towards the end of 2012 for a routine cleaning and checkup. After they saw my supposedly awesome dental insurance, they talked me into buying Invisalign because they said it would only cost me $ 500 out of pocket. I told them that I would order it if this was all that it would cost, because I was quitting my job in June of 2013 and moving to California in August of 2013 to go back to school full time, and could not afford Invisalign if it was any more than that. They assured me that once I paid my $ 500 out of pocket, all my debts would be settled. I paid the $ 500, which was billed to my credit card on March 18, 2013, and moved on with my life and onto California (or so I thought)!
Fast forward to June 2014, when I get stunned with a letter that says I owe roughly $ 2400 to Floss. I called the office first thing in the morning on June 23, 2014, and spoke to the front desk man. He remembered me, my situation, and my dentist (Dr. Raj Shenoy, who no longer works at Floss but is still a good friend of mine). He apologized for the mistake, remembered the details of my transaction, and said that I owed nothing more to Floss and he would take care of the issue.
Fast forward once again to today, February 9, 2015, when I receive another stern letter from Floss. It says that they have been repeatedly trying to contact me (which is blatantly false), that I still owe roughly $ 2400, and that if I don’t pay, I will be turned over to collections.
This is absolutely absurd. I have a near perfect credit rating, and there is absolutely no way I would skip town with a $ 2400 bill. I called the billing service tonight, who agreed with how ridiculous my situation was. The guy told me I will be receiving a call tomorrow morning from Floss, where I will hopefully be able to explain my situation and be done with this nightmare. If I had known all this would have happened, I would never have come here in the first place.
My sister is about to be a 3^rd year dental student at Baylor in Dallas, and I wish I could have asked her advice before going to Floss. I will do everything in my power to fight this extremely annoying injustice.

Wonderful first experience at Floss! Highly recommend it, staff was warm and welcoming. Rocio the hygienist was superb! Thoroughly cleaned teeth and explained proper care. The dentist was very comforting as well and explained following steps.
Was definitely uncomfortable going to dentist prior to going to Floss. After this I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Friendly atmosphere and very thorough.

First off — I am so weary of going to the dentist. I was scarred when I was younger, so I just stopped going (I know, bad on my part) so this was my first visit to a dentist in quite a long time.
Being new to the area, It was quite hard to find, so I had to call and ask where to park (lol). When I got there, the place was very clean and neat, outside and inside! The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and luckily for me, I filled out all the paperwork before going in so I didn’t have to sit and just fill out stuff.
First off, I couldn’t remember his name but the person who took my x-​rays and all the pictures, which ugh I hate because it just feels so awkward biting down ._​.; but he made it very easy and painless and was quick! Thank gosh for that.
Now for the dentist, I had Dr. Clark who was very friendly. He was extremely knowledgeable, which one would expect going to a dentist, but he helped me with what I needed to get done in order to get them back on track. I knew I would need to get some deep-​cleaning so I’ve scheduled that for a later date. Unfortunately, they are not able to just extract my wisdom teeth out due to the fact that they’re just growing completely sideways — upside; they do have a oral surgeon they recommend that sometimes goes into the Floss office to help get an in-​group rate. I hope I can try to get an appointment with him!

Despite the reviews, I came here because the Lemon location was being remodeled. I came because I was told the staff from Lemon would be here during that time. The office is amazing– updated, state of the art equipment. Staff was very friendly, snacks and drinks were provided.
The reason for the 1 star is because the cleaning took less then 10 minutes, which included flossing and the polish! I do take very good care of my teeth, but I do how much work it takes at each 6 month cleaning. The cleaning/​scraping itself felt very superficial and I barely heard/​felt her scrape anything off. Coming from a family of dentists and hygenists, I’ve had cleanings all my life, this is the least thorough and most short cleaning I’ve ever experienced!

My husband and I came to this location because the Lemon location was being moved and hadn’t opened it’s new local yet. So we weren’t familia with how exactly to get to the office we did do a little circling action but figured it, yay!
Front staff was friendly enough, the desk is just the right height that they have their privacy and the waiting room can relax. Listen to music overhead, the news was on wfaa ch 8 abc! Snacks, Keurig, cooler with drinks, comfy seating and contemporary art on the wall makes your visit feel way fancy.
I had my teeth cleaned last month, it’s the hubs turn today. He was a bit bummed Dr. Joe had to leave early. Next time we schedule we’ll have to remember to request the Dr. Joe! He’s just as happy with his other Dr :)

As someone who detests the dentist (unless they dose me with an ample amount of laughing gas), I have to say this office is probably the best it gets. In a stubborn effort to avoid the inevitable news that I would soon have to have my wisdom teeth removed, I had not sat in a dentist’s chair for over a year. In any case, I finally decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Raj and take care of business. I’m not sure what made me schedule an appointment with FLOSS. Perhaps it was the modern-​looking offices, signs and advertising. Or maybe it was a mix of all three. Whatever it was, it worked because here I am writing this review.
To say that I was impressed from the very beginning is an understatement. Before coming in for my appointment, I received two text messages from their office. The first was simply asking me to reply and confirm my appointment date and the second to wish me a happy birthday! How considerate and thoughtful. Once I finally came in for my appointment, I was warmly welcomed in by a smiling man and woman at the front desk. They gave me new patient paperwork to fill out, which wasn’t long and only took a couple of minutes.
Then I was immediately brought back for a dental exam, deep cleaning and whitening… literally no wait time whatsoever. I appreciated the promptness of the staff. They respected my time and did a phenomenal, unrushed job without keeping me all day (considering the amount of work I got done). During my whitening, I had to spend about 30 minutes with a plastic device in my mouth, face pointed upward. Luckily to pass the time, there was a mounted flatscreen on the ceiling and I was given a squeaker to call the hygienist if I needed anything during my treatment.
On top of it all, they have perks for new patients. I left the office not only with super clean healthier-​feeling teeth, but also scores a free whitening, complimentary oral care package, and a voucher for a +1 air ticket (limited time promotion). As someone who hates the dentist, I am surprised at my eagerness to go back. Dr. Raj’s and his team were professional and knowledgeable.
