Let’s just say I waited for the last minute to get something for my girlfriend for her birthday… bad on my part.
I requested overnight delivery from the manufacturer which they obliged with a hefty price tag. I contact FedEx letting them know I would not be home and if they could just leave the package. The lady said sure, I’ll notate that on the account and that I should just leave a sign notating this as well for the driver. Guess what, the driver ignored my sign and didn’t deliver.
I called back to see if I could go pick it up and since the package is with the driver and they get back after the business is closed, I’d have to get it tomorrow. One rep lied and said he’d get in touch with the driver and see if he could attempt delivery again today. The next tech said that was a lie and that nothing could be done. She also said the first person was mis-​informed and the second person didn’t notate that on the account, which means he never said it.
I will never use or respect this company. Completely destroyed a surprise Bday party.

just a total bad experience. i pay for expedited shippin because obviously i need the item within 2 days… my number address is 438… so please explain why the clearly incompetent driver drops my package off at number adress 1105… allows this person to sign off on my package that i paid for and now ive got to re-​order the package and wait 2 more days! what a waste of time.

Last week a Fed Ex ground delivery truck made a delivery next door to me. The driver then pulled in my driveway and turned around. When I went to get my mail, I saw black rubber tire marks in my driveway, which I had pressure cleaned 2 weeks before. Many trucks deliver on our street, but this is the first time a truck has used our driveway to turn around. I have placed 3 call to Fed Ex Corporate and I received a call back from a Fed Ex manager telling me another department made the delivery, not his, and they would contact me. Today is Friday, and I spoke with him last Tuesday. I just passed the Fed Ex truck who left the marks on the driveway, but couldn’t stop because of traffic. Terrible customer relations!

My wife’s boss sent us a package as a wedding gift. I came home from work one day and found a door tag on the door to our building saying a signature was required before they could give me the package. Two days later the package was at my doorstep. It had already been opened and the ribbon on the gift inside the package had been taken of, so it was obvious that someone had opened our package and went through it and decided they weren’t interested in what was in it. I called FedEx to complain and they said the shipper didn’t require a signature so it wasn’t their responsibility. I went ahead and filed a police report. A couple days later I tracked the package listed on the door tag and sure enough, it was the same package that had been delivered and was already opened when I got to it. I called FedEx again and they still claimed that their records still show that the shipper did not require a signature. That doesn’t make any sense at all. If the shipper didn’t require a signature, why wouldn’t they just leave it at the door to the building? They wouldn’t need to leave a door tag. Also, there’s no way the delivery guy would have been able to leave the package on my doorstep unless someone let him in the building, since you need a key. I asked them to have the delivery guy call me with a description of whoever let him in the building so I could include it in the police report and two days later they still haven’t gotten back to me

When I order anything online, I usually use expedited shipping. One would think that companies would recognize this as a sense of urgency around getting the package to the person around the anticipate delivery date but in my case this has been far from what’s occurred.
I should begin by mentioning that I live in an apartment complex and what’s becoming a common practice is that both FedEx and UPS drivers will simply drop my packages off at the apartment office without even trying to deliver them to my door first. The issue here is I work (full-​time) during my apartment’s office hours and I go to school full-​time as well, so when they do this it takes me quite some time to get packages and more recently they did this with my school textbooks when I had homework due so my books sat locked in the apartment office over the weekend and I was unable to complete my assignments (thanks for that, by the way).
Generally, when I’m anticipating a package I’m aware of the delivery date. What would be a lot more useful would be to notify me of when the item is in my area. There’s nothing worse than coming home and discovering you just missed a delivery that you were anticipating and that’s what would normally happen during the summer (when they actually decided to try to deliver packages to my door). To this point, if you do happen to miss a delivery it is nearly impossible to get it redelivered the same day. I even tried going into FedEx Delivery Manager and having it delivered to the FedEx store across the street from where I work, figuring I could just run by and pick it up later that day; Nope, it was schedule for the following day.
My second frustration steams from the FedEx online system for verifying addresses to utilize FedEx Delivery Manager. The address on the package MUST match EXACTLY what you input which is kind of silly. The system should accept «STE» in place of «Suite» and when it asked me the verification questions it kept saying I failed even though I’m pretty sure I know the answers to questions about MY life. Furthermore, it asked me a question about a car I’ve owned and listed two that I’ve owned so maybe doing more research or better wording. In short, when you miss a delivery it is WAY too complicated to (thru the web at least) get that package delivery rescheduled so now I get to spend more time this morning on the phone to get this squared away.
