Fashion Industry Gallery

The Dallas Arts Fair was a great event. Each artist had their own space to exhibit their work. Most was contemporary mixed media art of which I am not a huge fan of but I found a few pieces that if I had the money I would have snapped up really quickly. This was my first time visiting the Fashion Industry Gallery (F.I.G.) and I was really impressed by the space which was expansive and customizable. The staff were friendly and the artist dark and moody just like we like them. It’s a wonderful opportunity to take a peak of what is happening in the art scene and meet local and internationally renowned artist.

this was the 2^nd year in a row that my company hosted our christmas party here! i love the ambience here. i think it’s great for gatherings.

I came here for a Patron aficionados party for my friend’s company. It was an absolutely gorgeous space for the event with a great service crew and a lovely venue.
This could be a great space for a wedding venue, but the ceiling might be a little bit low, especially for a bouquet toss. The only other qualm I have with the venue might not even have control over. When the valet returned my SUV, and I obviously understand it’s Texas in September, my car seat was literally SOAKED in the fella’s sweat. It went though my two-​layer dress on my back and seat. I couldn’t find a dry spot to drive home! Like I said, that may not be their deal, but I was greatly displeased.
Back to the space though, there was a wide open spade for food and drinks and socializing as well as smaller rooms for break out space. Lighting was fantastic, exposed brick, all fantastic. I’d consider hosting an event here if I needed that size venue.

Pamper me fabulous on may 19. The venue was staffed with friendly people and really organized. The facility was clean and cool. It a simple warehouse style building with nothing flashy, brick walls and concrete flooring. I really would look forward to another event held at this facility.

Not sure if I should review FIG or the event I went to at FIG… lol. Either way, I love the venue, I always come here for my girls night out type events (Shecky’s, Pamper Me Fabulous, etc). I have no complaints about the venue, parking is typical parking — find a meter or park in the garage directly across the street. Depending on the event you can valet too… just know it’s not free, so don’t expect a win, ever. FIG is pretty spacious which allows the host to have free range when it comes to the set up. Break out rooms for zumba class, margarita making class, food tastings, etc.

Great warehouse space! Nice industrial feel — seems like a great event space. Lots of nearby parking!

This is a review of the yearly F.I.G. sale in February. Many locations are cash only, which I wish I had realized before I went since there didn’t seem to be an ATM inside. Some of the businesses that would take a credit card charged a 3% markup to use it, but others did not.
The women’s items for sale varied highly in cost and quality. There was a shop with Rachael Zoe suiting juxtaposed with a shop selling what appeared to be cheap frocks from forever 21, but at a markup. There were deals to be had though, especially in the St. Bernard sports shop which had splendid tanks and joie shirts for under $ 30, and good jeans (adriano g, citizens, joes, seven for all mankind) for 75% off, which translates to around $ 50. If you’re a dude, be warned that there are fewer shops selling mens than ladies wear, but there was at least one, and it did have things for 50% off retail — including some ben sherman, citizens, adriano g, lacoste, david smith, etc.
If you’ve never been to the F.I.G. it is definitely worth the $ 10 one day admission cost to check it out. They do offer wine samples after about noon. If you’re arriving by car, the valet is $ 10, or you can find street parking (25 cents per ten minutes, 2 hour limit). There are also some garages in the area, but many will tell you you cannot park there despite their listing on the F.I.G. website (and willingness to pay!).

Love the NYE party they throw annually. The price included unlimited alcohol, food, and a photo. Great dj and party favors. This year they rearranged the set up and it was perfect. They had several VIP areas. I highly recommeng getting a hotel downtown and enjoying a great party for NYE.

I go here only for special events. They allow the public to shop only two times a year… I have learned that the valet is worth it over parking on the street. To get in faster, download an app for the Iphone called everbrite (or something). super fast. and free

A remarkable, large scale multi-​colored Gabriel Dawe installation was the first thing I noticed upon entering the modern space. The layered environment of different levels inspires a chic attitude. Indeed, the venue is austere, clean, and gorgeous; however the cumbersome nature of the layou might make it more suitable for its original function: a fashion industry gallery.
Small vignettes or galleries constitute the downtown facilty. Housed with clothing hailing from the top designers, each designer house or gallery does make you feel pretty cool that our fair city is deemed worthy enough to boast such a progressive art and cultural space.

I went there for the August Sample sale, walked out empty handed. I was so disappointed, I guess for someone who was used to New York style sample sales (and no need to pay for a ticket!), I was expecting some high end brands, not some leftover from cheaper brands from several seasons ago. I think you can do better at suburban Neiman Marcus Last Call if all you want is Elizabeth & James or Alice and Olivia in size LARGE! I was shocked when I saw a vendor still trying to sell Mike and Chris leather jacket for $ 500! They are so 2006! Anyway, that was the biggest waste of time and $ 15 ticket!

I came here this past weekend for the Dallas Art Fair which had art works from many local galleries and others from elsewhere. A lot of the art work that I viewed was very inspiring and very creative with using mixed media. I liked the venue and it seems like the perfect place for such a fair. I didn’t like that some of the areas aren’t too spacious; oblivious people just came right in between you and piece of art work. Seriously, on one occasion I was not even three feet away from a piece and some old lady is all up in my business. I could have had relations with that woman.
They also had a café that was catered by Kathleen’s Art Café which rocked because I definitely needed a snack after browsing many cool art pieces.

Spacious warehouse space that can be rented out for parties. Patio outside, sharing the space with Stephan Pyles, overlooks an art museum lawn. Smack dab in the middle of downtown. A rooftop patio might give this place five stars, but nevertheless, it sure comes close.

I don’t know much about the wholesale fasion sales that they have there although I have heard of them. But I went to a charity reception there and it was very neat. A great space in the middle of downtown that I never knew about.
