I have had better. Orange chicken tasted burnt, the fried rice had little flavor, beef was cooked to long and the chicken didn’t taste cooked all the way.

I like this neighborhood Food deep in the heart of Dallas! Egg roll hut has been around for over 30 years in Dallas. My grandparents come here all the time. Let’s be real, This of course isn’t a fancy restaurant. It’s a simple eat in and drive thru restaurant, but gives you the best value and a taste of Dallas history. They load everything up!

Great cheap chinese. I get the Orange Shrimp usually. Big, delicious shrimp, sweet & spicy. Great neighborhood place. I like Panda sometimes, too, but Panda is corporate food, and this is a neighborhood place

Easily the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had(and I’m closer to geezer than tweener). No surprise that this place survives in Dallas, a city of amazingly mediocre Chinese food. The positives? After all, I gave it two stars instead of one. Volume. Lots of food. Fresh vegetables. Cheap. $ 2.20 for a shake. $ 5.50 for a lunch combo. The pineapple shake — real pieces of pineapple. The negatives? The meat. An all-vegetable dish is a better way to go. The fried rice. Not sure what makes it brown. No veggies or egg. Bland sauces, even the so-called spicy ones. The crab rangoon had nary a crab or a piece of onion. At the point where huge chunks of paint have come off the wall, it is time to do some minimal remodeling.

Not my favorite place, it’s your typical run of the mill Chinease food place. The place feels dirty but I would still eat here if I had to.

I am really confused about the other ratings being so high. Yes, there is a lot of food but the taste was not that good. There was virtually no flavor and the egg rolls tasted weird. I would have figured it was just mine but 5 of my employees ordered and we all ordered different things and they didn’t like it either. The reason that I give it a one is that we would not order from here again. Don’t waste the money.

Plain-Jane old Dairy Queen was converted long ago into this East Dallas institution. Cheap and good food, and lots of it. Revised 8.9.14. I’m knocking off a star. This place needs a good cleaning, inside and out.

Love eating at the place! Food is amazing!!! They give you so much and the price is decent too. Only part I don’t like thats why I’m giving it 4 stars is the waitress very bad! Never ask if we want refills, if we have a question she doesn’t answer only nod. Not helpful at all! Besides the sucky waitress I still enjoy the place and will keep going for the food. I do recommended this place!

What I love about this place is that they deliver and I can order and tip completely online via Foodler. What I don’t love about this place is most of the Chinese-style entrees. They’re usually very soupy — drowning in sauce, overly sweet, or bland. The PuPu Tray is little more than an array of questionable meat scraps, and the Lo Mein is mostly vegetables(even if you order a meat). I will, however, stand by the Combination Fried Rice, steamed dumplings, and the Schezwan Chicken. All good. One day when I was being exceptionally lazy and agoraphobic, but didn’t want pizza or Chinese food, I remembered they have American fare on their menu as well. So I ordered the burger, fries, and a shake and it was acceptable, bordering on good. So if you’re ever craving fried rice with a chocolate shake and you live within their delivery vicinity, give it a shot.

Every once in a while, I’ll retry a place that I’ve had a bad experience at to see if the bad experience was a fluke. Let me tell you, having a decent meal at Eggroll Hut would be a fluke. I tried the chicken with vegetable today to see if there was any improvement, and it was just as awful as the last time I ate here. Every piece of chicken was smaller than the end of my thumb, and had a gross soft texture, like eating marshmallows. There was one piece of chicken that was as big as my whole thumb, but when I bit into it, it crunched. CRUNCHED. The vegetables were edible at least, but the veg to chicken ratio was about 10 to 1. And last but not least the rice: it was such an overdone mush that it was hard to discern individual grains. It was supposed to be fried rice but was really just brown rice, with nothing mixed in. I choked down enough to fill up, but I’ll never waste my time here again.

I’ve noticed a trend with these cheap chinese food drive throughs – all their chicken is bland, a lof of their stuff is watered down, the noodles are all drenched in oil, and nothing ever tastes good or is ever made with love. You are better off going to pei wei or panda and overpaying for that little bit of quality that you didn’t know you came to expect with places like that until after you had Egg Roll Hut.

I rarely do delivery but they’ve never let me down. The best part is that they deliver milkshakes too. That was a nice surprise while I’m sick in bed and ordering Chinese. It was yummy and fast!

I don’t think this place is horrible, at all. I’ve been on a serious egg foo young kick and theirs is pretty close to what I grew up eating. This place has all sorts of interesting character — which makes me love it even more. I like this place, their fried rice was good, egg food young good, service was more than fine and we’ll be back… maybe even today.

Was looking for a new Chinese delivery place, and unfortunately picked the wrong one. Took 45 mins to get here and they were just a mile away from my apt. The wonton soup was watery, and it was simply large wonton strips thrown in there with a silver of tasteless chicken tucked in them. The fried rice was plain and old and the Orange Chicken had no ounce of orange taste to them. Tonight’s dinner was a failure. Even my fortune sucked.

This place used to be decent to eat at, but this last time was an awful experience. The staff were not good at attending to customers needs. The food was not even good and it didnt look very clean. Overall not a good place to spend your money and I personally will never eat there again.

YUMMMMM!!! They even have BURGERS& Shakes and and and… yuuuuummmmmmm: D But Seriously, we order from there at least 1 – 2 times per month. Very good value for the food you get. We live a few blocks away and walked there often when our car broke down and we couldn’t get to the groc. store. hehe :) this place!
