Deno’s Of Highland Park

I needed the elastic in the back of my boots taken in as they had stretched out over time. Took 3 weeks and when I picked them up it was $ 97. The work is good, but seriously… not communicating a price like that and honestly, charging that is unacceptable. Going back to Kosta Dino’s on Oak Lawn. Good quality, but faster and cheaper.

If you need any of your leather goods fixed this is the place to go. They are the experts in Dallas and always seem to amaze me with the quality of work they do.

I took in some Louboutin’s to have rubber soles placed 2 pumps and 1 espadrille. They did a very good job! The color match on the soles is perfect as well.

Never take a good shoe repair for granted. I moved from Dallas to San Francisco 4 years ago and have not been able to find a decent shop around the city. I am contemplating sending my new Louboutin’s back to Dallas for a proper anti-​slip sole!

They got the job done but they’re pricey and the customer service is awful! They act like they don’t need or want your business. There’s a little shoe repair shop in Lakewood (Mockingbird & Abrams) that is great and the owner welcomes you with a smile and a good attitude!

Just found this place:) They did a fantastic job on transforming two of purses into crossbody style bags. One purse was a gorgeous red and they matched the color beautifully! Will definitely be back:)

If you have ANY leatherwork you need help with, these are your folks! I don’t think there’s anything they can’t fix. And they’re affordable too!

I literally just downloaded the Unilocal app and am doing my first review in years because the lady at Deno’s asked me to — and she has taken such good care of me over the years that I promised her I would! Deno’s has repaired handbags/​shoes that other people have said were not repairable, including a pair that one of my friends sent to me from Houston because she couldn’t find anyone in Houston to fix them. They have saved many a handbag/​pair of shoes for me, and I won’t be taking my handbags/​shoes anywhere else any time soon!

I, too, wish i had read the reviews before taking my Louboutins there. I took them the first time to get a simple cleaning of the shoes, particularly the red bottoms. When I picked them up, they had repainted the entire sole, pretending they only touched the part on the sole directly in contact with the ground. However, when I tried them on at home, the red paint was COMING OFF, leaving horrible stains on my floor! In addition, they were still STICKY, after 2 weeks spent at their shop, as if it wasn’t enough time to dry. As a remainder, I DID NOT ASK THEM TO PAINT MY SHOES, obviously because I wanted to keep the original red color. I took them back, and after another 2 weeks they were still sticky on the bottoms. I pointed it out and they kept them AGAIN. Finally, i got my shoes back, and now, a few months later, the lacquer I assume they spread on there is chipping off! My Louboutins will never look the same again, and neither will I return there EVER! Please go somewhere else, not to mention how rude and careless the staff is, except for one lady. So don’t be fooled by Highland Park’s reputation for good quality and excellence, you won’t get it there.

I took in 3 pairs of loafers that didn’t quite fit. I have narrow feet, problematic heels & a very difficult time finding shoes. The loafers came very close but, no cigar. I wasn’t sure what I needed so I described my problem, the shoes slipped up and down my heels. We put in little pads on the tops of the loafers and «butterfly» pads on the heels. It’s been a year now and everything is still in place and I feel I paid a fair price. I didn’t leave my shoes; perhaps that’s why the quality was so much better than reported previously and the employees were very courteous, even friendly. I plan to continue taking my shoes here, even though I no longer live in Dallas but, visit very few weeks. Give them a chance.

Deno’s has been a favorite for over 15 years. All of my shoes, handbags, belts etc look like new after they’ve been repaired at Deno’s. Out of town friends always send anything they need repaired to Deno’s because there is no one better! A Dallas institution!

I took several pairs of heels to Deno’s to be re-​soled. When I went to pick up a week later, the work was incredibly sloppy. Glue was running down the side of my Manolo’s, plastic was sticking out of the sole on another pair of Aquazzura’s. I also had them re-​glue the straps of a leather bag — when they presented it to me, it was as if no work had even been done. I was completely taken aback, as most people seem to love the work at Deno’s. However, I was more surprised that they would present these extremely low quality of work back to the customer. I asked for them to be re-​done. They said, no problem.
A week later, I go to pick up for the second time. I’m pulling the shoes out of the paper bag they stuff them in and when I get to the Manolo’s I just say, «OMG!» They had completely ruined them. The leather on the side of the toe had been scuffed away, it looked as if they had been rubbed up against a street curb and the leather had been worn off. To continue to make the experience worse, my other pair of Valentino’s had been imbalanced in the re-​sole — meaning the bottom of the shoe and the heel were not even — and then the bag straps had painted glue flaking off.
Whatever you do, do NOT take your shoes or any other leather goods here. I will not trust them with anything of mine ever again. Not only is their work sloppy and rushed, they are rude and do not seem to understand the effects of their work.

It took me 3 months to get the courage to write this review, I hated my experience with this company. I used to use the oak lawn Dino’s until it closed down and didn’t know where to turn. This place is OVERPRICED and full of themselves. I felt like I couldn’t get a word in while asking how long my shoes would take to be finished. I completely overpaid ($ 230) later for soles on $ 29.99 boots that took 2 weeks to fix. Ridiculous! They are in an expensive part of town, so rent must be high. Go to cobblestone off Lemmon instead!

Extremely rude staff. I can not even begin to stress how RUDE these people are. As a paying customer, they should at least have the courtesy to smile and not act like I am bothering them by being in the store. They ruined my Valentino shoes, then when I brought them back for them to fix, they blamed the mistake on me. And then they told me, actually no YELLED at me to take all of my stuff and never come back. No problem!!! I wouldn’t come back either way :-)

Every time I get heel caps replaced here, they mess up the balance of my heel. Once, the newly replaced heel caps wore through after only two wears, requiring me to take them back a second time.
I’ve had to take my Giuseppe Zanotti booties elsewhere to be stretched length-​wise because they said they couldn’t do it. As for my Giuseppe Zanotti over the knee boots, they told me they couldn’t fix the bent heel counter. I will have to send them to LA.
Once I took some Fendi flip flops to be taken in here, and they took them in asymmetrically, thus ruining them. Once I needed them to fix straps on some Michael Kors that had become unsewn. They glued them back together, gluing the holes shut so they could no longer be buckled. How much of a moron would you have to be to do that?
I still take my shoes here because I don’t know where else to take them. Other places in Dallas seem to be equally awful.

I am going to start by saying, I wish I would have read the reviews before I went to Deno’s! But because they were recommended by Nordstrom, I thought they would be great and would do high quality work!
I took my wedding shoes to be dyed purple (from the standard white) and they did a «HORRIBLE» job! The purple dye bled onto the bottom of my shoes (which are tan). I purchased the I DO stickers to go on the bottom of my shoes so that my photographer could take pictures of them before the wedding and now because I purple blotches at the bottom I can’t!
When I realized there was purple on the bottoms about a week later after I picked my shoes up, I went back. I spoke with the owner and he told me as long as I have a good photographer they should be able to photoshop the purple out — «WHAT THE HECK»!!! NO, that was the wrong answer! I didn’t get an apology or a let me refund your money, I got a «HEY LET SOMEONE ELSE FIX MY HORRIBLE WORK»!
I will never ever take a pair of shoes there again and they need to stop saying this is the best shoe place in town BECAUSE IT’S NOT!
I have purchased another pair of shoes for my wedding because of this! So needless to say, because of Deno’s «HORRIBLE WORK», I had to come out of pocket with more money for another pair of shoes! THANKS FOR NOTHING Deno’s!

High Heels Need Love too. I had 2 pairs of Cole Haans come apart under the padding. $ 20 a pair to glue, set, shine, and add the little rubber piece I have worn off cruising about. My Ralph Lauren Boots had a zipper bust… not bc of the boot but bc of liquid nitrogen lol,…do not ask… and she put a new zipper on in 5 min and added the rubber piece to the heels so I was in and out and no longer walking on nails and could zip accordingly. haha When I die… make sure my heels are tall enough to reach Heaven.

First l’ll start by saying that this is the only place I take my shoes to get repaired. Having said that, I’ve read some of the other reviews, which aren’t great. This place is a family owned joint, in the heart of fashion Mecca for Dallas. Each and every time I have brought shoes in, they’ve done a stellar job. Are they the friendliest people on the planet? No. But I’m not paying them to be nice to me. I’m paying them to repair my shoes, make them look good, and return them to me quickly. In this regard, they do not disappoint. I live in San Antonio and have yet to find anyone in my hometown that can do the job like Deno’s.

Expensive. And no better than the less expensive place (read: Cobblestones). Specifically, took a pair of heels there for a repair to sew the ankle strap in place for my heels, they did that. It broke again. The same ankle strap, after I told them to reinforce the stitching. No issue with the other shoe.
Had to get heel taps twice within a few weeks on a different pair because they did such a poor job the first time.
They suck because of all the re-​dos and as I don’t like to re-​pay I’m gonna try this other place Roma’s on NW highway. If they don’t work out, I’ll go back to Cobblestones
I also hate the location, it’s an incredible PITA to park and get out of there!

I’m very sure this is a D Best because Khloe Kardashian was seen getting stuff done here — because their work is no good. I came in to get the bottoms of my Louboutins reinforced. I didn’t want it to get scratched up during my elopement in wine country Italy (cobblestones and gravel roads). I came in to a very disinterested employee with RBF. She informed me that it was $ 40.
I paid $ 40 for someone to attach red stickers to the bottom of my shoes. Had I known that’s all they would’ve done, I would’ve just gotten an iPhone screen cover and put it on myself. It has traction now, so it is kind of worth it. My gripe is that they couldn’t even cut the stickers to match my shoes perfectly. There were frayed edges and uneven sides. Seriously. If you can’t even apply stickers, you are not touching anything else.
