One star is generous for this gas station. I usually shy away from the negative reviews, but Deesway outdid themselves with a single experience. Zero-star worthy review if I’ve ever seen one. Filthy inside and outside, terrible(and rather creepy) customer service and unsafe day or night. Why so mad, Heli? Let me rewind and put everything into context. I was heading home, exhausted from a long evening of work in Fort Worth. In bad judgment, I violated the golden driving rule that my Dad had always taught me: «Don’t drive on anything less than a half a tank of gas.» In my defense, it was too dark for me to stop on my way back and I thought I could make it with the amount left in my tank. Unfortunately, I was wrong. As my car puttered to a stop about a mile away from home in a less than desirable area, panic struck throughout my body. I grabbed my cell to call for assistance and realized that there was a brightly lit gas station directly across the street: Deesway. I had a friend on the line as I crossed the street and walked in thinking they likely have dealt with this before and would know how to help. I informed the attendant that my car had run out of gas and asked if he could assist me as this had never happened to me before. Without any real acknowledgement of what I was saying, he seemed un-phased by a woman stranded in the middle of the night. I asked for a gas can and he handed me a $ 15 plastic container. Ridiculous! In any case, I coughed up the change anxious to get back to my car and head home. However, since it was my first time using one, I was confused on how to assemble the pout. I asked for help once again, telling him that I really needed to get home and if had a minute to show me how the damn thing worked. He shrugged. Finally, a kind stranger saw that I was flustered and quite nervous, and walked over to help. Actually this guy was an angel(if it weren’t for him, I probably still would have been stuck at this trashy hell hole of a gas station). I attempted to swipe my card on this pump’s ancient machine. Out of order, but of course Deesway had no sign. So, I had to walk back in to pay for 1 gallon of gas. The same rude, nonchalant attendant was more talkative this time: «What do you need, baby?» Baby!!! Excuse me. I was so taken aback by his disrespectful behavior. Gross. I get upset just thinking about his uncomfortable cockiness. In any case, between the shady characters that roam Deesway and the incompetent, rude attendants, I’d steer clear of this place day or night. Just thinking about what could have happened had I not come across such a sweet good Samaritan really scares me. Avoid at all costs. And keep that tank full!
