Description

Specialties

Faith-Based private high school for students ages 16 & older who need a 2nd chance to earn a high school diploma.

History

Established in 2006.

Cornerstone Crossroads Academy was started in 2006 by Jim and Jane Beckett, of Highland Village. After volunteering in literacy programs in the juvenile justice system, they realized the incarcerated teens needed a school they could attend after being released — a small school with caring teachers and individualized instruction where students could begin to make lasting life changes.

Approximately 25 students, ages 16+, are selected each year for intensive intervention, most referred by the South Dallas Juvenile Probation Officers. In the first five years, over 35 students have graduated from the program. Many of these students are the first in their families to earn a high school diploma. Over 70% of the graduates from the past three years are currently attending college or working full-time jobs.
