I used College Works painting this summer to paint my home and a duplex that we own. Parker Schmidt was my contact. Ariel was Parker’s boss and Ruben worked on the duplex. I found all to be very professional, friendly and helpful. I love the idea of the training that they do with the college students. This can be a very beneficial internship for college kiddos. My house had 4 colors plus a porch paint color, siding, wood and wrought iron fences and railings. Overall a very hard house to paint. Parker was very helpful on getting samples, trying the different colors till we got the one we thought was perfect. Ariel painted all my grandmother’s old wrought iron which I love and did a really good job. Parker would start early and work diligently through the day and the clean up was great and really appreciated. Every day we would do a walk around to see what I thought and what else needed to be done. They also have a great warranty plan which I really appreciate! Ruben did work on our duplex including fixing some bad wood & prepping very carefully! Overall I was pleased. We had to tweak somethings, but everyone was patient and helpful. Sincerely, Melinda Matter

As best I can tell, this a company that exists to help college aged young people learn about their chosen field, in much the same way an intern would. What makes this different is that these kids actually run their own businesses(including budgets, marketing, etc) under the tutelage of College Works’ professional mentors. This can be a positive or negative aspect, depending on the person on the front-end. Fortunately, ours was the former and this ended up being a win-win for both of us. My sales rep, Chris Gautier of Frisco, clearly has chosen the right major(Business), as the overall experience with him almost made me forget that I was putting a large job in the hands of someone going into his Jr year of college and just learning about the«real» business world. We found out about his business from a door flyer where he had a photo of himself and introduction of his objective(interior and exterior painting) What was especially good of him to do that set him apart was stating on the flyer that he was a graduate of one of the local high schools which immediately gave him credibility and made it easy for anyone to find out more about his work ethic. I had already gotten 2 quotes for the job we needed(stained fence and front door) and his quote came in well under the others. He explained the process fully, including payment terms(which sometimes can be difficult for people to do who are new in sales trying desperately to close deals.) His communication with me the entire time was excellent and he was highly confident in his ability to do so. We did have some hiccups with the contractors hired to actually complete the job, but what impressed me was that after Chris did the final walk thru with me to inspect the work completed, I realized that the stain on the front door was not what I expected(I wanted a glossy finish but it was flat.) Chris, himself, came back to our house to put the final coat on the door although a contractor would have normally done so. This was a good example of how business owners sometimes have to literally know every aspect of their business just in case they need to jump in to make the customer happy. I highly recommend working with Chris Gautier of College Works Painting.

this business is located with a Dallas address, but I used a local Austin contractor. My sales person, contractor, point of contact was Ms. Jordan Bishop. Her and the team she assembled painted my house on time, and on budget as agreed. They even worked on Memorial Day, which I didn’t ask for, but they are that busy due to their workload. I would use them again if she is my point of contact.
