Business Owner

Clay Stapp began working in the Dallas real estate business in 2006. Shortly thereafter, Stapp established himself as one of Dallas’ leading realtors. From 2008 to mid-​year 2010, according to MLS, Stapp ranked third in Uptown/​Oak Lawn and fourteenth in the Intown areas of Preston Hollow, Highland Park, Oak Lawn, and East Dallas for listed/​sold properties for all Dallas realtors despite only being in the business four years

Before transitioning to real estate, Stapp worked as an auditor for Arthur Andersen, a software consultant for Clarkston Potomac, and as a Dallas real estate developer. The American Institute of Architects selected Stapp’s development Oliver Street Lofts as one of eight residences for viewing during the 2008 Dallas Modern Home Tour.

Stapp lives in the Uptown area with his wife Lisa and bulldog Ozzy. He enjoys lifting weights, ping-​pong, spending time with friends and family, and playing Scrabble.

Matt Scobee became my realtor a couple of years ago and helped me and my husband find the perfect home for us! With his help, we were able to close in less than a month and are now proud homeowners. Matt is a longtime friend of mine and my husband’s and there is no hesitation on who I would call when it’s time to sell my home and purchase another one! I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how personable Matt is and he treats every client like they are his one and only. He truly is a great guy and outstanding realtor!

I had a terrible experience with one of their agents. Mr. Huddleston represented the buyer in my condo sale. While the tone of emails can be misinterpreted, I feel that he came across as inexperienced and easily upset and flustered. The fact that he sent an offer via email and then tried to go back on it when I had already accepted it is abhorrent and inexcusable. The deal ultimately went through, but he made the process much more complicated and frustrating than it needed to be.

RUN FAST !!!
I would not buy a double wide trailer from Clay Stapp+CO Agent Elaine Harper was good in the beginning (kinda hard to screw up showing a house) but turned out to be scattered brained and not organized. Basically she failed to retract or tenure my offer in a timely manner and caused me to loose my earnest money to the sellers. $ 3000.00 bucks. They have left me high and dry regarding my money. They have not returned my many phone calls nor reply when threatened with a complaint to the TREC. The arrogance of both Clay Stapp/​Broker and Elaine Harper Agent is amazing. Clay Stapp agree to the mistake and did try to amend the situation by offering me a credit against the next house Id buy from his agent. When I didn’t like the offer, he suggested I get an attorney. Wow! They were supposed to be working for me. I just wanted to buy a house for me and my son. Weeks of the run around and lies.

RUN! My experience with Clay Stapp has been awful at best.
My partner and I made a huge mistake when we rented a Clay Stapp property. The unit is in poor condition and is severely overpriced. You can expect a rent increase of over 10% and little urgency and pushback when it comes to maintenance requests.
Clay and his staff have communicated in a rude and unprofessional manner.
I wish we researched other property management companies before signing a lease.
Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

We had an amazing experience with Katie from Clay Stapp+Co. She was über patient with my husband and me during our search for the perfect apartment. She sent several options for us to view online before taking us out to see the properties in person. Katie was also very receptive to our sending her links of various apartments. One of the things I found most helpful was her ability to get right to the point and provide us with the pros and cons of each of the options in order to make our decision that much easier. Katie’s the best! We’ll definitely be referring everyone we know who needs a new home to her. And you better believe we’ll request her services the next time we’re looking for new digs!

I had a very good experience buying my first home with Clay Stapp’s Blake Damron as my realtor. He was not only professional and competent, but he made the experience, which I had dreaded, fun. I felt very alone when I started the process and was glad to find someone who immediately inspired my trust and made me feel like I had a team working with me. He recommended a great mortgage broker who helped quickly get my financing in place, and when the seller wouldn’t concede her fridge in the contract, Blake even offered to take me refrigerator shopping.
In less than 3 months, I went from panicking over my apartment’s being sold (and remodelled into office space) to being a very happy homeowner, and I am grateful to Blake and his team for making that happen. Highly recommended.
