Established in 1942.
Although it may be hard to believe, City CU started with only $ 50 in deposits in 1942, which was the minimum amount required to obtain a Credit Union Charter from the State of Texas. The first official meeting of City CU took place on August 24, 1942 in the Central Council Chamber of the old City Hall. It was decided that the Board of Directors would consist of nine members, with the Supervisory Committee consisting of three members. Loans outstanding totaled $ 100; total cash was $ 1,712 and assets totaled $ 1,812.
