I had an appointment with David for a drastically different cut than what I came in with. He was amazing! Very professional, and gave me exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be back.

Had a appointment with Etoile and she is amazing!!! I have never loved my hair this much. I went in to blend up my ombré and she did an amazing job. I’m so thankful to have found this salon and Etoile! I really recommend anyone wanting amazing results to check this salon out!

Just had an extremely frustrating experience with these guys.
I had an appointment for today. The salon representative left me a voice mail in the morning. I noticed that there’s a voice mail during my 10 miles run. I called them back and they asked me to reschedule the appointment for a couple of hours ago — for 2 pm. I told them that 2 pm wouldn’t work for me and that I could do 2:30 pm. They were insisting and suggested 2:15 pm. I assumed that they really have some reasons to be so insistent and told them, that 2:15 would be tough, but I’d try.
So I did what I promised. I increased my pace (remember, I was doing my 10 miles run) to be in time and I have rearranged my schedule to squeeze these changes that were made with a very late notice.
When I showed up at the salon, (I was about 8 minutes late), a beautiful lady told me that they don’t have enough time for me. I was super frustrated. We agreed on 2:15 pm and usually there are at least 15 spare minutes before the customer is considered late. In fact, I came only to be told that they can’t do anything for me. This is ridiculous.
— So, what should we do? — I asked, assuming, that this lady might at least suggest me some options, since it wasn’t me who was rescheduling the appointment.
— I don’t know… — she answered
Guys, is that the real customer experience that your salon is supposed to show? Needless to say that I won’t come back again.

Finally a salon that will listen and tailor your tresses the way they deserved to be tamed! All the stylists and colorists are good here! They are efficient and individualize your haircare here. I love the shampoo/​conditioner they use from japan! I had to take products home! I had complements all night the way they naturally styled my hair. I never wear it straight because it looks to frizzy, but my new cut and style stayed all night long! I am a regular! Everyone should experience a place like this, you won’t regret it

One of the drawbacks of relocating to a new City/​State is finding all of your people. Skin people, nail people, hair people, Doctor people. You know, your people!
I visited Chad’s salon on the recommendation of a friend who is close to Chad, and I went to the man himself. I have recently discovered some pesky odd colored hair coming in and I completely attribute this to the Dallas climate. It certainly cannot have anything to do with aging! I understood Chad to be an expert in coloring and cut and left my dark auburn locks in his hands. Chad did a great job on both the first time around, I was a happy girl! We had a bit of a mishap on the second go round, but Chad was a pro and even came in on a Sunday when the salon was closed to correct the color.
The salon is nice and the staff is friendly. Clients are offered choice of beverage while the magic is being performed. The trendy music matches the trendy neighborhood. I’m definitely a fan and will be back.
Don’t forget to have some cash in your pocket to tip the gems who wash your hair and give fabulous scalp massages.

I have been seeing Hannah Rychtyk for over a year for my hair color. When I very first met her– my hair was a mess: failed balayage attempt from a colorist who didn’t know what she was doing… and then I tried myself to use a box color to fix that fiasco. #hotmess Hannah saved me! Bless her! She did a color correction and we worked towards the gorgeous balayage color I so desperately wanted in my hair. Hannah is a master of hair color. She is up to date on all of the latest trends: ombré, balayage, bronde, rose gold, lavender, chocolate and caramel brunettes, perfect shades of blonde… To top it off, she is down-​to-​earth and just fun to spend time with while she works magic on your hair. She offers a great value for the cost and is super accommodating of her clients’ varying schedules. I highly recommend her to anyone!

Etoile listened to what I wanted and mastered my color. My hair looked like a movie star’s leaving this place. Atmosphere is modern and location is convenient for me as its in my neighborhood. Lovely experience overall! Loved the products but too pricey for me ($ 60 for one 6 oz color protecting product)

Came to TX 2.5 yrs ago and have been to several hairdressers from Uptown to McKinney. Finally, got a good haircut here from Jason. He listened to me, looked at pics I brought and started cutting. He is also very nice and friendly. I highly recommend for short haircut:)

I had never gotten any color done to my hair until just now– and Jenna did an AMAZING job! She listened to what I wanted and the color turned out perfectly. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone!

I have known Chad for almost a decade now and he is the only one allowed to touch my hair. He has long been known & lauded for keeping the blondes in Dallas beautiful but he keeps my crazy Kardashian hair in perfect shape too. I love that he mastered the art of balayage long before anyone else in Dallas had even heard of the technique. Appointments with him are the best — I just sit back, relax & sip on a glass of champagne while my hair is transformed into perfection. It doesn’t hurt that I sometimes catch a glimpse of one of the Dallas Stars or Pauly Shore every now and then when I’m in Chad’s chair. Truly THE best in Dallas.

I’ve been coming here on and off the past year and always enjoy my experience. I usually book ahead of time and always get service right when I come in with no wait. Always being offered refreshments is also nice.
Only thing I would suggest is some blinds on the front window. I feel bad for the worker at the register being blinded in the afternoons.

This place is very pricy compared to other placed in the Dallas area but they are a lot better and more professional. I used them a couple times and they get the job done.

I went for a blow out and it was amazing. My hair is thick and course with lots of frizz (especially now that my Brazilian blow out is gone). I asked for smooth with volume and got exactly that. I am always impressed with a stylist can make my hair achieve exactly what I want! The style lasted two days (I don’t wash my hair every day). Many props to Etoile for taking care of me. Will definitely be back.

Color X2 with Jenna. Great experience again. Balyage again. Seems to be what this salon’s colorists are known/​trained for. Can’t get enough of it because it allows my hair color to grow out well.
Everyone is so friendly, the blowouts are well done [even for a curly haired girl like me!!], and the ambience is so relaxing.
**FYI Jenna was running late on this particular visit, and this nice man seated me and gowned me up and got me some water. Well, during the course of my appointment, I may have «accidentally» overheard that he was the owner [co-​owner?]. I’m not nosy, just have excellent hearing… anyway, I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with that. I really appreciated what he did, and it’s yet another reason why you should come here. They go out of their way to make sure you’re visit is a good one.

I love this place. They have a great staff and they are always so friendly. They have beer, wine and cocktails if you want to have drinks while you are there having whatever done. The location is perfect. It’s right next to the W on Victory Park Ave.
Atwal is the real reason that I keep going back. She is not only a fantastic stylist, but also very friendly and talkative. She remembers everything you tell her and picks up the conversation that you had a month ago like it was yesterday.

This salon is fantastic! I have been trying to leave my longtime salon for years and am so happy to have found Amanda at Chad Rookstool.
Customer service is amazing. An out of town friend needed color and Chad, the owner, came in on a Sunday (salon is normally closed) to take care of her.
Try them out! Don’t be put off by the street construction out front. You can still park in the garage.

I’m incredibly picky about my hair… and the stylist here always come through.
Followed my stylist here so wasn’t too worried about anyone else… until she quit to pursue an academic career. She recommended Amanda, and I trusted her taste. After my first visit with Amanda I knew she was skilled.
This is the type of salon that takes about 45min to an hour to cut your hair, but they really take pride in their work. Everyone has caveats with their hair, may it be cowlicks or whatever, and my hair being thick its easy to mess up. But the stylist figure out how to make my style more manageable and cut accordingly.
This place is definitely on the high end. $ 40 for a Men’s wet cut. That’s a premium, but you get attention to detail here. Well worth the money.

I could not say enough good things about Chad Rookstool Salon!
I went for the first time today, and was impressed from the time I walked in the door until the time I left.
I was immediately greeted by the front desk and offered a wide array of drinks – I went with the mimosa after dealing with Dallas’ traffic.
Tovi was my stylist. She is new to the salon and recently moved from San Diego. She was easy to talk to, listened to what I wanted, and offered her honest professional opinions, which I appreciated. I will definitely request her the next time.
The salon is gorgeous and trendy. It had a great vibe. Everyone there just seemed to be in a good mood.
I had a Brazilian Blow Out, Color Break, and Cut. I am very satisfied with all of my services, and my hair has never felt healthier!
I will definitely be back for all future services, and would recommend this place to anyone!

UPDATE:
I have now been going here almost a year. I still love Chad. He does such an amazing job. I get compliments on my hair from the day it is done to even 6 weeks later. His style is unique from any other salon I have been to.

I had been going to another upscale salon until I finally asked my friend where she gets her hair done. (It always looks phenomenal)
A little background: I have brown hair and in the past I would get my hair done and $ 150 later, NO ONE could ever tell I just had it done. urg
It always looked good but never a big difference.

Chad is amazing. I just love him. I have received more compliments the last 2 times he has done my hair than I ever received before. My hair looks amazing, people notice a difference and compliment the tones and how it is done.
Worth every penny!
Salon is clean, classy and easy to locate. Parking is easy too!

I am really surprised by the first review because my experience was NOTHING like that. I really enjoyed my experience at this salon and I don’t often say that about hair salons because I don’t really like getting my hair done. Also, the salon is gorgeous (I really want to steal one of their mirrors because they are SO cool looking) and they make sure your wine glass is never empty long.
I had my appointment with Cory and he was really fantastic. First off, he’s really talented, but also, he doesn’t do that awkward I-have-to-make-conversation-because-it’s-what’s-expected kind of thing. It was really nice to have just normal chit chat with a stylist. The girl who washed me out was really nice too.
So I had a full head of balayage highlights done. I’m a pretty easy person to style because I’ve had my hair just about every way you can– dark dark brown to medium light blond to hot pink (only on the underside, in case you were concerned) from a swing bob (a la Jennifer Aniston from season 8 of Friends) to how it is now– simple, long with long layers. So when he asked me what I was looking for, I told him to do whatever he wants and my hair looks really great. He put in a bunch of caramel-​y highlights so I now have that trendy bronde color (its a thing– google it) and I LOVE it. Plus the process and technique of balayage is super cool. It looks much more natural– I will never be able to go back to foil.
All in all, I will definitely be going back and I would definitely recommend the salon and Cory to anyone. I rarely give 5 stars:)
