History

Established in 1945.

Casa Linda Animal Clinic was built in 1944 by Dr. Robert Weinberger and Dr. Roland Mallett. Eventually, Dr. Mallett left the practice for a higher calling – to join the World Health Organization – and Dr. F. D. Prater joined the practice.

Dr. Stacy Lackey became an associate in 1969, and Dr. Rick Perry joined the practice shortly thereafter. Together, Dr. Lackey and Dr. Perry purchased the clinic and have had numerous associates over the decades.

Dr. Debora Charles joined our practice in 1983, Dr. Tamara Johnson joined us in 2000, and Dr. Nancy Vrla in 2007. Until recently, Dr. Dawn Brittain also treated the pets of Casa Linda; however, she retired due to a career path change – to motherhood!

Originally, the clinic was less than half its current size and completely surrounded by fields. The closest landmark to the area was the Casa Linda Center, so the clinic was named after this location.
