By far the best Mexican food I’ve eaten in a long time(asides from mom or Mrs). Being on patrol in Dallas we get to eat everywhere but this is on the top 5. Homemade flour tortillas, beef fajita enchiladas, sweet tea, old school Tejano music and most of all the hospitality. Very attentive never left thirsty and didn’t leave hungry.

I’m sitting here in the vip area and I’m totally loving the vibes. The staff is top notch and the food is killer… The music is good and it makes everything just come all together! I definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a good texmex place nearby!

I stopped in for breakfast tacos. Theyre huge, delicious, fresh, and on the best tortillas. Good thick flavorful salsa too. I will be back to try dinner!

the staff here was friendly but the food was less than desirable. I ordered a taco and the meat on it was burnt. that’s all it took to turn me off. I will not be returning

If your looking for a new Mexican hole in the wall then this is the place. There are tons of regulars that come to this place for lunch, and if you don’t know someone here you might feel left out, but the owner is usually there and she makes you feel like home. But this place is totally on the way to no where land, so you have to be coming here for the sole reason of eating the food. I would have to say that my dish today, carne asada ranchera was pretty good. I am lowering my score from 3.5 to 3 because the tortillas are not home made. I feel like the tortilla is the attention to detail that I require from an excellent mexican restaurant. Even though my review today was a 3, I would give the Tuesday special a 4.

Before I moved to Dallas this year in January, almost every trip that I made to Dallas before on business required a visit to Carmen’s Mexican Restaurant. The thing about Carmen’s Restaurant is that it is only open for Breakfast and Lunch on Weekdays and Weekends. They are closed for Dinner. The part of the town where Carmen’s Restaurant is located is 100% sketchy purely because it is surrounded by a neighborhood that looks like the 3rd Ward from Houston and industrial buildings and warehouses are hugging it left, right, front, front, and back. When you drive to Carmen’s, don’t let the outside scare you away. Just park your Car and be brave enough to go inside. The rest will be history :) Aunt Carmen runs this place with her 3 daughters who are there everyday to help. They are really really nice. One of the waitresses even knows how to wear an Indian Sari and was telling me all about it on my last trip there on Thursday afternnon for lunch this past week, which I thought was pretty cool. I thought that was quite impressive. The place is always packed during lunch time. And the food is probably THE Best Mexican Food in town. Its well known for their Steak Ranchero dish and I love their 3 Amigo’s Fajita Lunch Special. Go and give it a shot. You will not be disappointed at all. I promise!

Love Carmen’s! I was introduced to Carmen’s by my husband and his co-workers. They go here all the time. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is always warm and welcoming. Food is top notch. As to a prior comment regarding people being seated based on race, I have never noticed such a thing. Carmen and the staff greet everyone with a smile and treat each person as family. If you want authentic Mexican cooking and not Tex-Mex, this is the place to go.

Definitely a hole in the wall like the previous poster noted. You could drive right on by and end up at the tune-up shop next door without noticing. Great food, daily specials and the staff is fantastic. My fellow co-workers and I are fairly frequent regulars(2 – 3 times a week for lunch) and I have yet to have a bad experience. I have probably patronized the business at least 40 times in the past 6 months and I keep returning. I can’t say enough about the staff: very attentive and they take the time to socialize when they catch a break. They make you feel like part of the family.

Hole in the wall that is packed at lunch. Food is good. Staff friendly. Typical TexMex selections from a family owned restaurant.
