Established in 1953 California Pools is the oldest pool service company in Dallas, serving the Dallas area since 1953. We are locally owned and still operated by the original family. For over 60 years we have been making pool ownership fun and simple by assisting pool owners with cleaning, repair, remodeling and supplies. History

Established in 1953.

In 1953 Jim Hays had the foresight to recognise an emerging industry which had started in California and was slowly moving east. In response Jim started California Pools. A year later Jim was joined by his brother Jerry, who had just recently graduated from SMU after serving in WW II. California Pools quickly grew to become one of the predominant pool builders in the North Texas area. In the late 60’s Jerry recognized a growing void in the industry and halted new construction to pursue the expanding service side of the business. Jim later left the pool industry and started a Christian based church camp. Jerry continued to run California Pools until 1986 when he retired and turned operation of the company over to the current owners, his daughter Karen and her husband Ed.
