Specialties
We start with the freshest chicken — never frozen — and add simple seasonings to enhance the natural flavors. Traditional, «southern comfort» sides include many favorites like mashed potatoes with cream gravy, black-eyed peas, baked beans, green beans, yeast rolls and many more.
History
Established in 1981.
In her home kitchen, with her husband and children serving as taste-testers, Mary Beth Vinyard developed and perfected the beloved recipes still served at Bubba’s Cooks Country restaurant today.
Mary Beth and Paul (you may know him as «Bubba») opened Bubba’s in 1981, bringing traditional, southern comfort food to the Park Cities area of Dallas.
Their mission was simple: share the old family recipes they grew up on in West Texas with as many people as possible. Paul converted a 1929 Texaco Service Station into an Art Deco-style diner, and Bubba’s was born.
Bubba’s only serves food the family loves and, luckily, the family loves mashed potatoes, chicken-fried steak, green beans, yeast rolls, black-eyed peas and fried chicken — lots of fried chicken. The highest quality ingredients, which are prepared to let their natural flavors shine through, and Mary Beth’s time-honored recipes ensure that the customers love the food as much as the family does.
