Bangkok Inn serves traditional Thai dishes based on home recipes passed down from generation to generation starting with owner Daisy C’s khu yāy thī dī (great grandmother). We have been a local favorite in the Lakewood neighborhood of the Dallas metroplex for over 30 years, and going strong!

Customer favorites include our fresh spring rolls, corn patties, and Pad Thai, which is pan-​fried with our well-​loved secret recipe house sauce. Our food is always made fresh from scratch, and we only serve the kind of food we would be excited to serve our own family. Your comfort is our business, so whether you need food delivered, catered, or take-​out, we are happy to accommodate. Oh, and did we mention we are BYOB?

Established in 1982.

Bangkok Inn has been welcoming Dallas locals under its roof since 1982. Our mission is to serve fresh, authentic Thai food to our family — and under our roof, you are family! Chuck C. grew up in the restaurant business and has over 20 years of fond memories of the sights, sounds, and smells of his mother’s amazing cooking. He inherited his family’s passion for Thai cuisine and loves serving his neighborhood with fresh and authentic Thai dishes at Bangkok Inn. This is my local secret Thai spot. Most people in the neighborhood order delivery or get carry out from Bangkok Inn. However, you can also stop in and eat it there. I will say this upfront, it’s not a fancy or stylish Thai spot, it’s just a simple, quaint local spot. Chances are you will be the only people dining there. Which means one thing. you will get very attentive service from the staff.
This is probably one of my top 3 Thai places in east Dallas. Prices are economical. And your servings are generous. Dinner for 2 for under $ 20. yes all day!
Just in case you like your Thai spicy, this is the place. You have the option to order your food mild or island spicy, which i like to call fire island.
Parking is right in front. Or if you live close, just walk over.

The pad thai, drunken noodle and sweet basil fried rice are amazing! Oh and my absolute fave is the tom kha (coconut) soup! Can’t get enough. Family owned, and friendly staff. Say hi to Daisy when you go, she’s cool.

The food and service here is just fabulous! My wife and I went for a late lunch, 3ish. We had Cake Patties for an Appetizer; my wife ordered the Tofu in Peanut Sauce and I had the Triple Spicy Chicken. The Tofu and Peanut Sauce was the best we’ve had. The Tofy cooked to perfection. There is an art to cooking tofu and they have it down to a science. The Triple spicy chicken had the right amount of burn. You can pick how hot or mild you like it. The service was very, very friendly. It is a family owned and operated, has been in the family for about 30 years now — and the service and quality is reflected in that pride of ownership. I like the quiet atmosphere. I am an introvert and my wife a little more social and I really appreciated the quiet afternoon. Anyway, this place would be great at any time! And, don’t forget to order the Jasmine tea. It was perfect too!

I walked in and was seated really quickly, they even allowed me to choose where I wanted to sit which is quite nice since most other places doesn’t allow that.
I ordered the pad see ew mild with beef and oh my gosh was it delicious! One of the best pad see ew plates I’ve ever eaten (I will definitely come back here for more). The sauce wasn’t too spicy (I ordered mild since I can’t handle spicy food well) and it wasn’t too sweet like other places I’ve been to, it was just right.
My coworker ordered a couple of appetizers plates which were the shrimp satay and spring rolls. The spring rolls were rolled fresh per order and weren’t refrigerated, which was great since the rice paper wrap didn’t harden in some areas and wasn’t overly chewy. The shrimp satay was delicious and my coworker and I have never had anything like it before. I highly recommend it!

This place is a mainstay for Thai food in the lakewood area. Super casual and excellent food. Have to give it a shot if you’re in the area. Can’t even estimate the number of times I’ve ordered their pad thai and an order of thai dumplings. Also, any place that is BYOB automatically gets a shot in my book.
One time they made an order very spicy, and I made a joke to them that my wife said it was super hot, and they delivered a second order that was less spicy for free within 15 minutes. The place is really awesome.

I wanted to grab dinner as I had obligations in the area later in the evening. There are not as many parking spaces in front of the restaurant as there are tables. Fortunately, there is more parking around the corner on Skillman.
At the time, the restaurant was not too busy and there was no wait to be seated. Browsing the specialties on the menu, I decided on the Triple Spicy with chicken. Although the description of the dish mentions chicken, I was given the option of choosing something else such as beef. Of the two spicy options medium and hot, I chose the former because I was not accustomed to the restaurant’s spicy scale.
My order arrived about ten minutes later with a bowl of white rice. Because I chose medium spicy, the heat did not overwhelm the flavor. The sauce was a bit more sweet than spicy. In hindsight, I could’ve handled the hotter option. Regardless, I still enjoyed the entrée. I’m not a fan of mushrooms and I ate every piece because they absorbed the sauce’s flavor. Although the dish is called Triple Spicy, folks shouldn’t hesitate ordering it fearing they wouldn’t be able to handle the heat.
The only surprise of the evening was when I received the check. Prior to this visit, I had only received a fortune cookie at Chinese restaurants.

The absolute grossest food I’ve ever eaten. It was vile and stank to high heaven. We were the only ones in the restaurant on Sunday at 12:15 (which is high volume lunch time), so that should have been our first clue. The restroom was dirty … everything was just yuck!

Love this family owned restaurant. The pad Thai is authentic and very similar to that you get in Thailand – closest we have found in the metroplex. We drive from Mckinney to revisit this little place because everything by us is so Americanized. The tom kha soup is amazing as is the seafood mor din with homemade fish sauce. We will keep coming back for me.

I have searched DFW for 2 YEARS trying to find a decent Pad Thai that’s made like it supposed to be (FYI if it’s red it’s canned pad Thai sauce… eeww) and FINALLY I found one! The owners are actually Thai so they no what they are doing, and the Pad Thai is phenomenal!!! I don’t understand how this place isn’t super popular, I loved it, it’s such a cute little hole-​in-​the-​wall.

Today was our first time here, and we will definitely be back– the food was delicious! We came for lunch on a Saturday, so it was not crowded at all. We had great service from the son of the owner, who gave us some great recommendations regarding what to order. We had the Thai dumplings for an appetizer and the Pad Thai chicken and shrimp and stir fry chicken with cashew nuts for our entrees, and we could not have enjoyed the food more– we cleaned our plates!

Best thai food in Dallas, hands down!!! My fiancé and I are moving to Lewisville, but this will not stop us from commuting to get this thai food, it is that incredible!!! We have visited a lot of restaurants trying to find something comparable, and fail every time. It is family owned, and we are greeted with nothing but friendliness everytime. If you are a pad thai fan, look no further. This will soon be your favorite thai restaurant. Thai tea is super good too. And spring rolls with peanut sauce is amazing. This place deserves 10 stars.

Apparently there are two sisters now running this place and they are completely overwhelmed. Although they seem nice, there is no service model to speak of. We’ve been twice in the week. Each time, although the restaurant is only ½ full, it took ONE HOUR to get a take-​out order. I saw people come in, stand around for 15 minutes, fail to be greeted or seated and finally give up and leave. The orders come out of the kitchen in haphazard order– some people are getting their food, others not, and in no particular oder. This is an amateur operation, it’s pure chaos. However, the food is very good. The bathrooms are clean. And I love BYOB. I hope they can hire a professional to sort out the service issues, we’d like to keep it in the neighborhood.

I have a habit of putting off my reviews. Here is another over-​due review on a place I dine at frequently.
First, despite some incredibly minor renovations, this is no place to look at. It’s a dive for sure. However, I find the pictures on the wall fascinating (the owners when they lived in Thailand in their earlier years).
The service is hit or miss, but it is a true family owned restaurant; meaning they own and operate the entire place. The son is usually running around taking orders while the mother/​owner sits quietly at a table, or sits with patrons. (My mother and I love when she sits with us and talks about her days in Thailand — it’s like watching a documentary).
The food is great! I don’t think I’ve ever ordered anything I didn’t like (my favorite is the Thai style fried rice, it has amazing flavor and the wonton soup which has a hint of spiciness to it), and in true Asian-​restaurant fashion, the portions are pretty generous. I definitely recommend this place for lunch. It’s quiet and quaint.

I am going to admit a bias right up front. Bangkok Inn is a neighborhood standby for me, and I have been coming here for years. The family who runs the place recognize me. I have come here for regular meals, celebrations, when sick or dumped, and on carry-​out evenings. It is an old standby for me and long a part of my Dallas life.
Bangkok Inn serves very nice Thai food for very little money. A few stand outs on the menu are the Basil Leaf with Chicken, the Panang Curry, and the Silver Noodles with Chicken. All dishes can be served with tofu, so vegetarian and vegans should not shy away. The Pad Thai is ok.
I often come here for the Tom Yum Kai soup. Delicious.
It is BYOB, so plan ahead for your dinner beverages.
Small. Cozy. Family run. A great spot tucked into a corner of Lakewood. Worth a stop.
The lunch special is a great way to give it a try. It will cost you $ 6 for a dinner-​sized entrée.

«It smells like Thailand.» I involuntarily remarked as we walked into a thick kind vapor of chili and spice, and immediately flashbacked to my 3 week stay in Southern Thailand.
For a text book hole in the wall, Bangkok Inn
Is clean and organized if Spartan and no frills, but in a magical fung shui kind of way.
«I’ve never even heard of this place.»
My roommate was shocked, as he’s a regular. «It’s good food, and super cheap.»
A silent Thai woman approached us out of the blue offering a paper to read, just out of kindness. There was a good solemn energy here, and it translated into the food.
The Tom Ka was chunky and delicious, and so were the spring rolls (3 for $ 6 w shrimp and pork.), fatter than the usual Vietnamese ones I’m used to but fresh and homemade tasting. The peanut sauce too was a bit different, rich and peanutty.
The music was cheesey and my friend imagined our apologetically Akwardly feminine waitress dancing aerobics to it in her apartment.
«Jazz fingers!» He pantomimed.
The lunch specials start at $ 5 and go up to $ 6 if you want soup and egg roll. My ginger beef was delicious but probably offered a mere 2 ounces of beef at most. A slight annoyance, but for a cheap refreshing lunch I couldn’t imagine much better.
