B B Bop Seoul Kitchen

I’ve been going to B B Bop for several years now, even though I’ve never lived in Dallas since I’ve been going. My family lives in Dallas, and I get to go home 3 – 4 times a year for a few days at a time and one of my go-​to meals every time I go home is B B Bop.
Think fresh, fast, affordable, healthy Korean bowls that satisfy my every craving as an Asian food connoisseur.
I usually get the Old School bowl BiBamBap with less rice (boo carbs!) and extra vegetables (yay vitamins!?) with KBBQ beef. The beef is perfectly seasoned, the rice is perfectly cooked, and I add a big fat over easy egg on there to juice up the bowl in runny yolky goodness. I usually steal the Seoul Fire sauce that you is on the condiment table and hoard it and add it continuously to my bowl as I’m eating. Spicy, yummy, amazing.
I live in Koreatown, Los Angeles now, and love me all of my LA Korean eats, but I have yet to find a fast food Korean place that reminds me or rivals BBBop Seoul Kitchen. You Dallasites should consider yourselves lucky.

I’ve never had Asian fusion, and I wasn’t even sure what it was. Delicious meat, and various selections of vegetables. Their employees are some of the nicest, and courteous people. They are very relatable, and willing to explain everything. Love it, and definitely coming back!

~$ 10 for a bim bim bop of moderate portion size (~ ¾ filled 8″ in diam bowl by 6″ deep). They are a little heavy with the sauce, but otherwise no complaints.

This is one of the few places that does Korean fusion well as a brick and mortar place. Normally I’m unimpressed by non-​mobile Korean fusion places but BBBop has their sh*t figured out.
I’m usually a fan of their coconut curry with tofu and their Gangnam style fries. I’ve had better Korean style fries and I definitely think that they need to add in a ton more kimchi but then again their namesake isn’t «kimchi fries». However I do request that they start slathering on the fermented goodness of my people on top.
Their coconut curry is very tasty and their tofu chunks are always crisp. I usually will eat around the rice or you could be smarter than me and order a different type of carb. What? This is what happens when you A) don’t like rice and B) trying to watch your figure. You can always build your own bop bowl (bop means rice in Korean) and go HAM. Totally up to you — think of this as Subway but for Korean food and you won’t «smell like Subway».
This place is fast, self service, and great as a quick place to grub or to chill out. They have way too many sauces for you to choose from so have at it.

Went to BBBop for the first time and was expecting more than I got (maybe my fault for having higher expectations). My husband got the old school bowl and I did a build your own. The service was good and they were friendly. When we got our food it was nice and hot. Once we started digging in we realized how bland our food was and how dry it was — we went to get more sauce and it helped a little but not a whole lot. I love asian food and love bowls but was expecting more out of the flavor. The portion size was good and I would maybe go back to try the other things on the menu which looked pretty good, but otherwise it was just ok.

I wasn’t really impressed with this place despite a good friend of mine speaking so highly of it. The workers are very friendly and will help you decide on different options if it is your first time there.
I did the build your own BOP, which gives you one choice of protein, a choice of rice or noodles, 3 vegetables, and an egg. Sounded so good! I chose the chicken, with white sesame rice, mushrooms, green onions, and corn. They ask you for your name and you wait patiently for them to bring it to you.
I was with my friend David who ordered tofu, and when they gave him his order I thought it funny that they gave him chicken… I thought OH NO. Please not again. My name was called next and… TOFU. I never understood how David and Daniel can get mixed up as many times as it has for us, but I was really disappointed! I can’t stand tofu. We switched bowls and it was fine. The food was ok but I’d rather eat at Genghis Grill. Maybe I will try them out again someday without David.

not your mom’s fried chicken– amazing juicy fried chicken.
downside was the short rib protein i had in my rice bowl. it tasted a bit sour and was cold.
also, this place has the best sweetened ice teas. i would go back to bbbop just for their ice teas!

I’ve had the old school bowl which I thought was okay, but the thing that I would eat over and over again would be their kim chi fries! Their kimchi fries is topped lightly with a powder flavor, kimchi, jalapeños, meat, and an egg and it’s just a party in your mouth ;) tbh I think their kimchi fries are better than la burgers And their teas are good
The vibe of the place is really relaxing and nice as well

Great fast casual Korean, focusing on bibimbap, hence the name. I think we all got the customizable bibimbap, which is pretty cool. «Korean-​style» chicken wings are just okay. Good service.
I eat low carb and they even make that easy, with lettuce instead of rice (or noodles). They have a choice of a few meats and egg to add in, a huge selection of veggies, and a few other addons like egg rolls. Plus 7 sauces, ranging from sweet and savory to spicy.
We also got 6 of the sweet chili wings, which didn’t seem that different from chicken wings elsewhere. A little more crispy, and good flavor, but not the aggressive crunch I expect from Korean fried chicken. Not bad though.
I had paid for an extra egg on my bibimbap and only got one, and after asking, quickly got my second, with an apology. So I was very happy with how they handled that.
I would happily return.

Friendly service! Food was great! Food came out fast! Price was not expensive at all. Will Def return. We were impressed!

I went to this place on a Monday evening. It was really quiet so there was no wait time. I got this rice bowl with steak and it was delicious. On the side, I had curry fries and those were also a great choice. Overall, quite pleased with my choices. Would recommend for anyone needing a quick bite and craving Korean food. I’m giving this a 4 due to my precious choice of a bowl with peas and carrots which was not a great option.

I really wish there was a BB Bop in North Dallas because it would be my go to take out place. I even have had to come up with a version at home when I can’t get down to Greenville. My husband works nearby so I usually only get here when meeting him for lunch. But this generally the only place we go because I don’t get to eat here enough I don’t want to consider another place.
I love the old school Bop so this is mostly what I have tried. We are trying to make an effort to try more things, but its just so good, we have to get this and share it and add on another item. The combination of rice, steak, sauteed vegetables, pickled vegetables, fried egg and of course the seoul sauce is just perfect. All the veggies taste fresh, the steak always has great flavor and is tender. The pickled veggies really round out the flavor. All their sauces are great, but the seoul sauce is my favorite. This made me fall in love with gochujang and its now a staple in our household. They should start selling their sauces as I would probably keep several of them at home.
Last time we tried the seoul fry wings. They are good, but not as good as the ones I have had in New York in Korea Town. They aren’t quite as crisp and spicy.
Service is always fast and great and it is good prices. It makes for a fresh and reasonable lunch.

I’m currently on a «no carb» diet, which really means «less» carb diet, so coming here and ordering was a little bit of a trouble since most dishes have rice in it.
I opted for the soup of the day and a side of their samosa egg rolls instead. I was pleasantly surprised by the soup — it looked like miso soup but tasted more vinegary than salty. Whatever it was, it was pretty good. A little on the expensive side though for a bowl of soup ($ 7) — yummy nonetheless!
The samosa egg rolls were also quite delicious! You can definitely taste the curry and it pairs nicely with the crispness of the egg rolls. They come in a set of three so I would highly recommend it as a side or an appetizer for sharing.
Will definitely be back to try their rice dishes though once I break this diet, which probably means tomorrow.

Having spent well over two years on my Dallas bookmarks list, I finally got around to paying a visit to B B Bop Seoul Kitchen, and with such a gap between bookmark made and fulfilled, it was hard to not have a wave of hype at my back as I walked through the door. While that very hype may have played a factor, my experience at B B Bop was a tad bit of a letdown, and I wouldn’t say it was anything beyond A-​OK.
To summarize, the bowls are good but not too difficult to recreate at home, and the wings are a letdown.
Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere?
B B Bop Seoul Kitchen fully embraces the new fast casual vibe from the modern décor to the layout, and placing your order is quick and easy before it’s conveniently delivered to your table. Certainly nothing to complain about here, and the crowd on a Thursday evening told me that this place does some good business. Star Granted.
Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?
I opted to put together my own Braised Spicy Pork Bowl for $ 8.75, and while the picture below may not insinuate as much, there was a lot of food here. A large portion of rice was the foundation for a good portion of meat, veggies of my choosing, and an egg cooked over hard, and all of this was more than enough to satisfy a single meal.
The wings were a bit of a different story, and having experienced massive meaty Korean wings elsewhere (Bonchon, etc.), I was disheartened to find that $ 4.95 got me four very measly wings that each covered maybe a single bite. That in and of itself wasn’t enough to drag away this star, but it’s worth noting that the value at B B Bop is in the B B Bowls. Star Granted.
Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?
My Braised Spicy Pork Bowl was good, and I’ll take a little credit here for having pieced together a pretty good concoction with jalapenos, mushrooms, and cabbage, but all the while I couldn’t help but think that what I was eating could be pretty easily replicated at home. Yes, there’s something to be said for fresh ingredients and the hassle it would be for me to aggregate and chop them up myself, but there were no flavors here that had me wondering what secret recipe or style might be at play. I’m by no means a master chef (far from it), but there really wasn’t a wow factor here that made the dish incremental over being a sum of its parts. That’s frustrating to both write and read because I honestly can’t even recommend what to change or improve, but it’s worth noting nonetheless.
As I’ve hinted at, the wings here were a huge disappointment having already been knocked down a notch by the pretty absurd price. I opted for the «Sweet & Spicy Chili» flavor, and these were neither sweet nor spicy. As indicated by the size, there wasn’t much here, and I finished wishing I’d spent my $ 4.95 elsewhere. Single Star Granted.
Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?
I like Korean cuisine, and I really wanted to love B B Bop given the reviews and reputation it has in the area, but for reasons I think I’ve explained pretty well below I can’t say I’ll be returning on the reg. No Star Granted.

Bbbop is always on Dallas eaters top 10. I’ve never thought about trying this place out because it seemed to be a typical Korean «bibimbap» joint. Last night, before our trip to Aurora, we decided to try this place out as it was on the way. We ordered the not your mamas fried chicken and the coconut curry rice bowl. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy. The curry was good and my boyfriend loved it.
Service is awesome. Very kind and polite while taking the order and delivering the food to your table.

I was excited to try this restaurant. Coming from the East Coast I was well versed in the nuances of Korean fried chicken wings and wanted to see Dallas’s take on this. If there’s one thing that the south knows it’s how to fry food.
Unfortunately this KFC is more like Kentucky Fried Chicken than Korean Fried Chicken. What was most disappointing was that each wing it was relatively small. I’m used to steroid inflated gigantor wings. Also the wings weren’t all that crispy.
I thought the different dipping sauces were a cool touch, but they really weren’t all that good. Plus if you’re going to have a sauce with wings you got to have ranch!
This place is not all bad though. The vibe was pretty cool and the wings were pretty cheap. I had a come back and try the rice bowls next time but I will definitely not be back for wings.

In essence, maybe I was expecting too much…
I was referred to B. B Bop, as being really good, so I decided to give a try…
Having tasted korean food, I had a somewhat knowledgeable taste history and what to expect. I ordered the Kalbi steak with spicy sesame topped with an over easy egg. Overall I thought it was decent, although i felt that the protein to carb ratio was low. I would’ve enjoyed a bit more steak, the overall steak portion was lost between the rice and veggies.
The spicy sesame rice tasted unorthodox to me, but was welcoming to me, it wasn’t anything to brag about in my opinion.
I felt like this is a spot I could mentally put a bookmark in and check back, there were other menu items that I am curious to try, and perhaps it could make me like it more.
The gangnam kimchi fries were definitely unique and amazing I would say. They give you the option to have your fries topped with either chicken or pork which made me think wow «great concept». Their green tea mint lemonade is amazing !!! If you’re skeptical or unadventurous to try much here, get the tea and you will love it!
While B. B Bop defnitely breaks the barriers of traditional korean food, their fusions are definitely something to admire.
I hate to compare this place to Fast & Furious, because its like comparing apples to oranges… but since they both dwell and battle in the world of «Asian Fusion» … I would pick Fast & Furious over this place.
ONLY because of spicy taste/​and portion size.
This isn’t an overall win, but as far as the first round, Fast and Furious wins.
I will give this place a 2^nd round, and my mind could change… In which case I
will give props to the best 2 out of 3 winner.

Had my first B B Bop experience this past week and I’m mad I haven’t come here sooner.
I came here with my girlfriend after hearing the awesome reviews from peers and we’re excited to try it out. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and quickly given the run down of the menu and what they’re known for. Paul (the manager) assisted us by answering any questions we had and giving great recommendations.
We ended up ordering the old fashion bowl, the gangnam fries, and the incredible limited quantity «Not your mama’s fried chicken»!
The old fashioned bowl was very flavorful and had all the tastes of a traditional b b bop with a mix of American cuisine. The fries were crispy and not soggy like most k-​fries I’ve tried. But the star of this place was that Fried Chicken.
Good Lord that Fried Chicken was incredible. It was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender in the inside and crispy on the out. It came with two delicious Korean sauces that enhanced the flavor greatly.
My girlfriend being from Korea told me that this Korean style chicken was one of the best she’s had. And we recently found out that Chicken actually won an award an beat out Babe’s Fried Chicken. Incredible.
We will be back. Make sure to not try to go too late, the fried chicken is made in limited batches that do sell out.

Service was friendly and welcoming from the second we stepped in. It was post lunch rush so the place was relatively empty and calm.
I had the make your on bop with extra chicken on salad greens. Overall, the dish was okay. To make it better, I’d liked more greens given that I chose the salad over the heavier carbs. I’d had also liked a choice of the sauce that my dish was sauteed in (if there were options, I wasn’t aware of them).

Pros: I received great customer service; the woman who took my order got every detail right.
The restaurant offered unlimited options, with an incredibly large veggie menu. Wow! Also, all information on where the veggies were sourced is available outside the mirrored Windows (see pic). I loved that touch. With a choice of a normal’ or large sized bowl, there’s no reason to be hungry after dining on their food. The price couldn’t be beat, even for a large bowl you’re under $ 10. I would definitely go again. The brown rice alone is reason to return. It was oh so good with fluffy grains and a good, nutty taste. They gave me lots of it (split into 3 meals). Best ever.
Cons: The carryout order didn’t look super fresh, maybe because tofu is not what they keep on tap normally. The tofu looked like little fried squares. The lettuce looked like it was in hospice. Also, aside from the sauce that I added, the food had little flavor on its own. Thankfully, I added kimchi for flavor.
Great concept. Decent execution. I like the taste and quality of food served at Fast Furious Japanese Grill better (I know, different ethnic food, but the bibimbop portion of the menu is quite similar), but when in this neighborhood, BB Bop is a good choice. 4÷1÷15

Came here with my boyfriend before a concert at Grenada Theater cause I was craving Korean food and it was the best we could find in the area. With a rating of 4 ½ stars, I was expecting this to be Korean fast food heaven, but it was just a taste of mediocre earthly food.

SO. MUCH. SALT. I got the kimchi bowl from the favorites menu (substituted peas with corn) and I felt like I must’ve consumed an entire can of salt. The first bite was really good, but after that, I felt like rice was accompanying the salt instead of the other way around.
Way too pricey. Everything on the menu really should be at least $ 1 cheaper. The kimchi bowl costs $ 8.95 and I added the samosa eggroll for another $ 1. I recently just moved from Texas to San Francisco and one of the things I missed most was cheap food. $ 8.95 is SF pricing. C’mon Texas, y’all can do better than that. Also, the samosa roll was puny. I thought everything is bigger in Texas? Should’ve saved my dollar and gotten a Costco hot dog for 50 cents more.

Aside from the sodium overdose, it actually tasted pretty decent. My boyfriend got the old school bowl and it was a much cleaner version than the kimchi bowl. The beef is really tender and cooked well.
Fast service. I’m always a bit ambivalent about food that comes out really fast, but I was quite impressed with the quality of food given the service time.
Overall, I can’t say I’d come here and spend $ 10 again, but if I’m ever in the area and need a quick Korean pick me up, this would definitely be a viable option.
