I received a cold call from an Auto Hero call center rep. regarding a vehicle I listed for sale on Craig’s List. Of course, the specs and asking price for my vehicle were listed on the Craig’s List Ad I posted. As per the call center rep., they shop Craig’s list, auto trader, car websites and call sellers about their vehicle. The call center rep made it seem like they were interested in MY specific vehicle, researched the info. on my vehicle & was going to match my asking price or get close! I made an appointment and showed up on time and sat there for almost 30 minutes until I was helped. The lady before me received an email«quote» for her car and was lured in by that trick! The Auto Hero sales rep. could not match the offer she got by email even though he said her car was perfect and still«smelled new». He couldn’t really answer why he couldn’t match the emailed quote she received from the company. The customer told him the amount she would take for her car and he haggled with her about it. She eventually left because Auto Hero could not match the price they offered her in the email. I was next and of course they couldn’t meet the asking price for my vehicle. They are the ones who contacted me and knew the asking price for my vehicle. Why would they waste my time & have me bring in the vehicle if they were NOT willing to pay within the ball park of what I was asking??? They had my vehicle specs to do their research BEFORE I came in. Again, they called me!!! The Auto Hero sales rep. was $ 11,000 off my asking price. The office setting was sketchy & so was the sales rep. When I walked in I immediately knew it was gonna be a waste of time and I was right!!!
