Albertsons

First of all, I don’t understand the comment about how this place has gone «completely downhill» when actually it’s totally going up hill! I have lived in the neighborhood for a while now and have been wanting a sushi place close by. To my astonishment, Albertsons NOW sells fresh sushi! They roll and sell it on site! Yes!!! Finally!!! Brian sounds like he needs a drink.

I swear this place has gone down hill, like to the bottom of the hill. My daughter informed me at 8:00 that she needed deli meat for a potluck at school tomorrow. I had her call to find out what time the deli closes and they informed her 9:00. We left a graduation party early to get there in plenty of time. We arrived at the deli counter between 8:40 — 8:45. The three lazy trolls working behind the counter initially tried to ignore us, but we stood there talking and waited. 2 minutes or so later one said «slicers are closed for the night». I said we called and in advance and they said 9pm, then she started making excuses. I wasn’t in the mood at this point and walked out. I stopped by the service counter on the way out to confirm the deli hours and to let them know we were denied service. I won’t be back, I’d rather drive a little further!

I wanted to make this grocery store «my grocery store» since it’s only 5 minutes from my house, but after shopping here a couple of times, I’ve decided to avoid it whenever I can and drive a little further to another grocery store. It feels dirty and I’ve seen grey meat there before. The produce selection is pathetic and the store is laid out strangely. Also, the men at the pharmacy seem very disgruntled and verge on being rude, for no reason. Avoid this store and pharmacy.

Just went for eggs and coffee filters. Eggs on sale for .99
filters were more then I pay .so did not get them. This is a old store that every body that lives in Casa Linda, uses or have used. They are busy on most
they only had two cashiers .But it was no problem. not very many customers today. I will go back to this store when I am in neighborhood, and need a few things.

I only come here if I absolutely have to. The store feels dirty and is very disorganized. I find myself wandering around from one end to the other because the frozen good is tight in the middle of the grocery section, leaving customers to have a hard time finding things. They should have laid this out differently.

I used to shop here all the time when they had good prices. Then I noticed their prices went up, so I stopped shopping here. Everything was 50 cents to a dollar or more higher than at Walmart. Now, I only go in to buy things they have on sale. I don’t know why people shop in a store that has higher prices than another store right down the street. Groceries are too high anyway.

Disregard old reviews that granted only 1 or 2 stars. This Albertsons has improved massively since a 2009 low point. It’s my closest grocery store and I can attest that it’s clean, produce is generally fresh, selection is fine. Plenty of cashiers ensure that you can check out. quickly. The employees are helpful and cheerful. If this store were located anywhere but Dallas, it could merit 4 stars. But after all, Dallas north of I-​30 and east of I-​35 is totally spoiled with the nation’s very most competitive food market! So, this is not a foodie’s paradise nor is it the cheapest store in town. But it’s good.

Albertson’s is Albertsons. At least they have beer and wine now which is nice. The pharmacy employees are friendly.
Not a big fan of the meat department. I prefer buying meat at Whole Foods. And to be honest I would really rather go to the new Walmart to buy everything else. I think this Albertson’s will start to lose some business since Walmart opened down the road.
Make sure you watch the prices as the cashier rings everything up because I almost always find something that we are charged the wrong price for sale items. And if you are you get the item free so it’s good to be on the lookout.

i like Albertsons. My beef is with the police security guard. hes stares at you and mean mugs. It doesn’t seem very inviting.

Make that zero stars… if I could. What a nasty store, just disgusting as I saw a fly buzz around INSIDE the meet cooler at the deli. I had already ordered the dang sausage or I wouldn’t have bought it!
This has to be the worst Alberson’s I have EVER laid eyes on! It has a dingy, low rent feel through the whole store. I can’t recommend this place to ANYONE! Why does it have to be the only store near me?

I can think of few things more pretentious than writing an online review of a grocery store based not on the quality or price of their goods but on the stupidity of upper management’s business decisions.
Oh, sure, by the looks of their produce I wouldn’t buy fruits or vegetables there if I had AIDs and it was a miracle cure. I’m fairly positive my anus has less harmful bacteria in it than most of the supposedly fresh meats. Is this a former Food Lion?
That’s not really what my problem is, though. You see, I’m poor. My wife makes good money but because I’m poor I dictate that we eat like refugees. The men among you who are in a situation where your wife brings home the bank know what this feels like. I’m also lazy, extremely in fact, and when, at 9:30pm, I decide that we need bread, sugar, milk, Morning Star patties (free with manufacturer’s coupon!), offbrand cheerios and cheese, I’d rather go to the Albertson’s a mile down the road than the Kroger or Target five or six away. This despite the fact that I know it’ll take longer to complete my purchase at the self check than it would to sit through Lars von Trier’s «Antichrist» and then write a voluminous essay precisely detailing how and why anybody who liked it is a fucking numpty poofter.
Therein lies my real gripe with this Albertson’s: it’s run like it caters to poor people… because it does. I’m convinced that the second you are hired here you are taken off to a brainwashing camp where they show you videos of people dying of radiation poisoning and say «these people are trying too hard». To these employees «doing the bare minimum» is something hard up junkies do for a fix. They excel at finding new and awe inspiring ways of not only not caring but apathetically displaying just how little they give a shit. I have never seen people work so insanely hard at looking like they’re not caring that they’re not working.
This would not be an issue if the self-​check worked. Every time I use it I am positive that the Lawnmower Man is real and he is choosing to extract his vengeance upon the world by making my shopping experience as fucking miserable as possible. I scan a bottle of milk and bag it and it insists that there is an unknown item in the bagging area. I click «skip bagging» and it freezes up. I take the unknown item out of the bagging area and it screams that I took items out of the bagging area and to put them back, at which point I do, then click the prompt, then it freezes up again. I feel like Darth Vader at the end of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Shits, where he mourns the destruction of the Great American Film Franchise, decrying the slaughter of millions of American’s childhoods by George Lucas with a pathetic «Nnnnnnoooooooooo!» (that is what he was upset about, right?)
Any attempt I make to flag down one of the roving hambeasts to to put things right that once went wrong, as if they are my grocery store Sam Beckett, is met only with glazed over stares, as if they are deer in headlight and I am their vehicular grim reaper. My ability to speak English must have them in awe of my power, as if I have descended from Highland Park (and down ten income brackets) to shop at their store out of pity or rage, but I assure them that I make less than they do, and that it is I whom they should take pity upon and assist me in finalizing my purchase, and lo, with a mighty key turn, they shall take mercy upon my shopping soul.
Tonight the machines again had risen, unanimously against their human tormentors, and their conspirators chose to take no mercy upon any of us. I preached to my brothers in poverty, «Let us not be held hostage to the whims of these contraptions, these, these abominations, aided by our treasonous brothers and sisters of flesh and bone! Nay, NAY I say! To Target, Winn-​Dixie, or even… even Wal-​Mart we should retreat! WE SHALL BE SLAVES NO MORE!» Then we proceeded to slaughter the hambeasts, those who were once our own kind, poverty stricken and unbathed, who sold us out to secure their own comfort., and we sent a message to those who would seek to use the weakest of our kind against us, that we know their game, and we shall righteously triumph over their evil schemes.
At least, that’s what I wish I could say I did. Instead, in my only fit of protest, I left my groceries in the bagging area with my transaction unfinished then came home and wrote this awfully fucking pretentious Unilocal review. Lucky you. Don’t shop here because it’s run by douchebags. The end.

This has been my grocery for the last two years and I’ve never seen it dirty or had trouble finding anything I needed (except maybe a pizza once when they didn’t have the flavor I wanted).
I’m surprised by all the 1-​star reviews, they have really nice staff and with 4 self-​checkout stations I’ve never struggled to leave the store even on the most packed days.
They’d have 5 stars except everytime I go in to get balloons for an event, it always takes foorreevveerrr. But, that’s really not the main part of the produce guy’s job description, so I understand it takes time.
They’re a great community store with everything a normal grocery has and located very conveniently right off Buckner and Garland! What more could you want?

I used to shop here regularly until I realized that I was paying 20−30−50% more than I needed to. The place has been remodeled so it is more attractive. Nice selection of everything. But a box of whatever is what it is, so why pay more for the same box? I have not shopped here for quite some time, and Albertson’s has market share problems.

Wow, I’m so shocked at the 1-​star reviews!
I lived in the neighborhood, and did nearly all my grocery shopping here. Never had bad fruit or veggies. Service was always good… deli food was fresh & tasty. Lines were always short, store was clean. never had a problem.
As for the no alcohol, it’s strange. it’s actually a local ordinance — it’s a dry neighborhood. No kidding.

Stopped in for a few simple items… milk, fruit, bread, no biggie… right?
WRONG!!!
Ok, so I indulged in some strawberry shortcake, 86ed the shortcake subbed angel food cake and raspberries…
Ok, the RASPBERRIES HAD MAGGOTS… completely infested… still have not been able to eat since this happened.
Also, on top of the maggots, there was one cashier open and 3 self checkouts, at the busiest time of day…6p ish. Took 30 minutes to check out those maggot infested raspberries.
Albertsons…we are DONE, finito, no mas!

Those are the four words (are they words?) that go through my head when I step into this place. The fruit is moldy. The meat is rancid. They don’t sell booze.
I once brought a pint of moldy raspberries to a manager and he said, «Aw, I thought I was gonna get out of here with no complaints tonight.» Er… how about don’t put moldy fruit out?
This place is the devil.
