We have seen Dr. Merrill for all 13 years of my chocolate Lab’s life. Upon a recent scare in health I asked my sister to accompany me for support. After Dr Merrill examined my dog, she assured me all was well and no need for tears. On the ride back home across town, my sister commented «I see why you drive so far to this clinic. What a wonderful, caring and informative doctor.» Dr. Merrill and staff are more than worth the drive for your pet’s health and care. They also offer great hours.

Dr. Merrill and the staff at Abrams Forest are awesome! I have lived in many different places and had many different vets. By far, Dr. Merrill and staff are the best I have ever visited. I have 20 or more vets that are closer to me, but I would not go to anyone else in the Dallas area. Thanks for how well you treat me and my dog!

We’re recent transplants in Dallas and needed a vet and since I loved my vet back home, there were big shoes to fill. Had a good visit today … Dr. was very friendly and attentive, appreciated that she got down on the ground and related well to my dog, who runs on the anxious side of the meter. The wait was longer than I would have liked, 30+ minutes, but was worth it … And once we did see the Dr. I didn’t feel rushed so all-​in-​all, it was a good visit.

Ever since we discovered this clinic we have been bringing our pug Honey in for annual exams or any health concerns. We always see Dr. Myers and he is always friendly and sweet even on an early Saturday morning, which is when we always schedule our appointments. He always listens to our concerns and is genuinely interested in answering any questions we have. His staff is also amazing and super friendly. Prices are reasonable and clinic is clean. I will recommend this clinic to anyone.

When relocating to Dallas several years ago, one of biggest concerns was finding a high quality veterinary clinic that wouldn’t break the bank. I feel like I hit the jackpot with this clinic. Clean and professional facilities and overwhelming friendly staff and physicians. The prices are reasonable. Overall great quality of service for the price. Their affiliation with another clinic that is open ²⁴⁄₇ is very nice for those emergency situations. Would highly recommend them to anyone seeking veterinary services in the Lake Highlands area.

I just recently moved to Dallas so I didn’t know what vet clinics were recommended or not.
My dog Motley got really sick last night and couldn’t walk. So this morning my roommate recommended I go here.
Best decision ever.
Dr. Myers took care of her, made sure she was comfortable (since she has a habit of growling at people), very helpful at telling me what was wrong, clear instructions. Wasn’t left in the room for very long by myself during the tests that were made.
Comfortable and clean setting, staff was very friendly especially since I was frazzled the whole time.

This place is awesome! I have taken both of my Yorkies there for several reasons and every time I have left happy! Dr. Merrill is very caring and Christi her vet tech is super sweet! I would highly recommended this place!

UPDATE: Skooter’s vet, Dr Myers called me within two days to ask how Skooter was doing. Papa, like. He invited him back the next day for a check up, blood test and extra treats at no charge. Very nice. Feeling the love! We would give Dr. Meyers 10 stars if we could.
At the day of our first visit, Dr Meyers took extra care. He seemed genuinely concerned and recommended he keep Skooter for most of the morning to do further tests. He promptly called me at my office for a diagnosis update and recommendations. Two thumbs up.
Today, Skooter is feeling much better. Paws up, high five. Life is good!

I have a 6 year old boxer that recently started developing little painful itchy sores on his belly. he was always scratching and bleeding and obviously in pain. I took him to this vet, where he’s been going for a couple years, the first time it happened and he was put on antibiotics that were $ 80. the sores went away then a couple months later, reappeared. the 2^nd time I took him to the emergency vet because they had gotten worse — $ 400 and 2 rounds of antibiotics later they were gone — then they reappeared. 3^rd time I take him to forest abrams and another $ 400 and 2 more rounds of antibiotics later, they’re gone, for about 6 weeks. fed up, I started to do some research on my own– turns out the sores are hot spots and I found an online remedy of — witch hazel and or betadine to clean the areas — then a mixture of original Listerine and water sprayed on the sores — then apply Gold Bond powder to keep your animal from licking the Listerine off — VOILA! sores disappeared within one week! and have been under control and/​or gone for over a month.
moral of this story — before you get taken for $ 400+ in vet bills — do some research and try natural home remedies. I have an insanely happy non medicated boxer at home and his treatment cost me $ 15!

I am so impressed with the service that my dog Dinner and I get from this yet. They are just wonderful. I got a call today to follow up on visit to the Emergency Vet on the 14^th to make sure everything was OK. The staff here is so friendly and caring about you and your pet it is just incredible. They knew what meds were prescribed, they knew about my dog and me. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this vet practice.

With two chocolate labs we are considered regulars at this vet office. We landed here after getting way over charged at a chain vet office in Richardson. The doctor knows how to handle our guys. They get so excited to see her again. Two thumbs up from us!

Recently moved from Phoenix, AZ and had to find our doggies a new veterinarian. Thankfully, we came across Abrams Forest.
Dr Meyers is absolutely amazing. Answering the million questions I may have, calling us after a few days to check up on the doggies, and even calling us back just from making an appointment to check up on the dogs himself
The staff is super nice and every time I have a question, and Dr Meyers isn’t there, they make sure he gets the message and he calls back!
I’ve been to others vets, but not one this.

This was the first time I took my dog to a vet or any clinic in a year. I was very nervous because he sometimes has issues with new people. My boyfriend refers to him as «the meat tank.» At 68lbs, my American Staffordshire Boxer mix is a small meat tank with explosive energy. He’s notorious for trampling company. So I was not looking forward to him running over a little vet tech or stomping all over the waiting room.
Setting up my appointment was such a breeze. I generally hate setting up appointments if it’s not something I can do online because I hate phone calls and people. I had no problems setting up my dog’s appointment.
I didn’t have to wait long in the wait room. My appointment was scheduled in the morning. I arrived 15 minutes early. Checked in and was called in after 5 minutes.
The vet tech was wonderful and so patient as my dog spazzed around on the scale while she was trying to weigh him. She had no trouble getting him to go with her and she even said he behaved wonderfully while she drew his blood. She had pockets full of treats and my dog will do anything for treats. They had no problem with how excited my dog was. He ran circles in the check-​up room. The entire staff is wonderful. I’m looking forward to taking my dog to them for all his health needs.
His annual exam cost me $ 130. It’s a flat rate regardless of him needing more vaccines. He didn’t even realize he was getting vaccines. He was too busy with treats getting shoved in his face.

I was going to VCA for my doggie, but I just got tired of the high prices and different doctors I had to deal with every time we went there. I wanted to try out an independent Vet, that is not part of «big box» Vets. I read the reviews and noticed this place wasn’t too far and had good hours. I called and spoke to someone about scheduling a senior dog annual exam. They charge $ 180 compared to $ 365 that I was quoted at VCA. I made the appointment for the next day. I really felt very welcome when I walked in and everyone was so friendly! I love that they treated my princess with so much love. Dr. Merrill was very personable and I loved the individual attention that Ginger received. I thank the entire staff for being so nice to my dog. I highly recommend this Vet to anyone that has a beloved 4 legged friend.

I took my ailing cat to see Dr. Kitz at this clinic after having seen 3 other different vets over a 6 month period. I chose this vet after looking on the Internet at different vets’ educational qualifications.
I was pleased that the clinic areas for cats and dogs are separate and that everything is clean. Most importantly, Dr. Kitz was gentle and thorough AND found out what was wrong with my kitty, who is now successfully responding to treatment. If I had any criticism of this clinic and vet, it would be that I would prefer to speak directly to the Dr. rather than having to spell it all out to a tech first.

Hands down, best vet in the Dallas area. Went there for the first time this morning and was floored by how incredible Dr. Merrill is. She’s thorough and engaging and so personable. I know the dog knows no difference between a so-​so vet and a great one, but humans do and I am so happy my little girl now has a designated doctor.

I’ve been to many vets and this is the best one I’ve ever been to HANDS DOWN.
I went with my boyfriend to take his adopted shelter puppy for her first visit. Dr. Merrill was so amazing and sat down on the floor and let the pup lick and kiss and love all over her. She was so friendly, talked about what was necessary and what was extra and how to keep vet costs down. All of the staff were very helpful and professional, even the other patients were very nice!

This vet clinic is the best I’ve found in the DFW area, hands down. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean and feels very upscale, but their prices are absolutely reasonable! You can tell the staff members genuinely love the animals and share your concerns and passions regarding your pet. Also, they never try to sell you anything your pet doesn’t need and are very helpful to recommend reasonably priced products and where to find them. Can’t sing my praises loud enough!

Dr. Merrill and the whole Abrams Forest Vet team is the best. They were so gracious during our sickness with our dog of 15 years, which ultimately passed away. They were so comforting in dealing with how we could make our beloved family member. They made the very best of this time for us. Dr. Merrill even came to our house to pick up our dog that passed away comfortable in our house with his family. We will always stay with Abrams Forest Vet… and will recommend them to anyone.

After having a horrible experience with my last vet, a friend recommended this clinic to me. I wish I’d had known about it sooner — this is hands-​down THE BEST VET CLINIC IN DFW.
Our vet, Dr. Merrill, is a gem. We have two big dogs, one of which is very nervous at the vet. Dr. Merrill actually sits down on the floor and talks to the dogs, petting them and praising them and giving them treats throughout the exam. She has such a gentle and non-​probing way of conducting the examination and giving shots that the dogs don’t even realize that she’s doing anything. Our dogs are happy and comfortable with their experience.
The staff is very friendly and efficient and always remember who you are and what pets you have. I am very thankful to have this place for my pets.
