She want something sweet. So here I am. Before the long drive home. And some H2O. When I’m always on Greenville this is why stop before I head home

Man, I don’t remember coming here at all. Kidding, I kind of remember running around here searching for some Four Loko cans while Pat Baby painfully decided which chips he wanted. I’m so glad he was there because this is like the hobo bump spot or something. At least no one bothers you while inside. It’s pretty clean, well stocked and somewhat smaller then other 7-Eleven stops. They still have those hot dogs rolling though. The next morning there was a packaged 7-eleven breakfast croissant in my fridge which I happily enjoyed. I’m still alive so I’d say their prepared foods are just fine. If you’re still not convinced, bring a body guard or stealthy weapon to ease your mind.

Always the 711 that we stop at to pee and pick up a slurpy. It’s a small 711 and the location is nice. While on those festival days in deep ellum you can stand inside you can stand by the cooler ad pick out your drink at the same time! How fun.

I live about a mile from where I volunteer on Saturdays so I like to walk. I was running a bit late so I had to power walk to volunteer so felt pretty thirsty on my way home, especially since it had started warming up outside. 7-Eleven was a block away so I decide to head over for a drink because a fountain diet coke sounded so amazing. Now, I am not all that familiar with 7-elevens(actually, I think this is the first one I’ve ever been in) but as far as convenient stores go they are pretty small. I went to get my diet coke and it was running clear so I let the clerk know. The clerk told her associate to go change it and there was a misunderstanding. The amusing part was the associate brought me a can of diet coke.(: So we cleared up the confusion and they changed the diet coke out. Now the really awesome part: they had cherry syrup to add to the diet coke! I know, it’s no longer diet but you don’t need much and it makes it all that much better. I thought the staff was friendly, seemed clean.

The Deep Ellum 7 – 11 is my local one and it has just about everything you need in a pinch. It also seems to be cleaner than what some previous reviewers have said about it. I’ve never been approached for change or «spare change,» yet, at least. I like the convenience, easy place to go for small things you may have forgotten at the grocery store, or if you need to stop in for a quick 6-pack to go or a bottle of soda. Pretty ok in my book.

This is my neighborhood 7 – 11. Something has changed over the past several months and there are less people outside begging for change. Not that I ever felt threatened before, but I was always watching my back. Still do, but it seems like less and less of a problem. The same clerks have been working the almost three years I’ve been back in the neighborhood, and they are mostly friendly. More so when they see you are a regular. They have all the necessities that most convenience stores have plus beer and wine. Woohoo. Their coffee station rocks too. So many things to put or mix in your coffee, and its so cheap. Everything else is pretty standard jacked up convenience store prices. PS — The photo Chris M posted is not for this location.

Is this the one in Deep Ellum? If not, well — this is a misplaced review for the 7 – 11 in Deep Ellum, aka: Dallas’s unofficial homeless shelter. There is a lot of panhandling at this location, and you will get asked for cash/food/(and maybe even more if you’re lucky!) on your way in and out, often by the same person. That’s where it gets annoying. I’m not a bleeding heart, nor am I a snob, but I also don’t understand the concept of being a parasitic pest to get your way. Maybe this is why many of my relationships ended. I digress. The takeaway here is: This location is not for the faint hearted, those who are scared of homeless people nor those who are sympathetic to them, because the same ones are often here, and they WILL latch on, trust me. And your Slurpee habit just turned into a government assistance program. The couple that owns this place is a really sweet Asian couple that are constantly there. 3 am on a Saturday? Check. 7 am on on a Tuesday? Check. They have started to recognize me and always fondly call out, «Girl!» when I walk in for my daily caffeine(yes, Diet Pepsi strikes) fix. Yet, we have never exchanged names, but it’s nice to go somewhere. .. cue music: «where everyone knows your gender».
