Specialties
We are a fully operational vineyard and winery, growing vines on 4.5 acres of North Georgia countryside. We are the «baby» of the county vineyards, but we take great pride in our work, and are proud to set our own pace to viticulture. Our staff and owner got into this trade with a true desire to make great wine and provide a fun and inviting atmosphere for our guests. These things we do with great pride!
History
Established in 2007.
Cavender Creek Vineyards and Winery got its start with the foresight of Raymond and Donna Castleberry, as well as with the volunteer help of family and friends, in 2007. In the summer of 2015, Raymond and Donna finally called for a second «retirement», and sold Cavender Creek Vineyards to our new proprietor, Claire Livingston.
The first vines planted at Cavender were two red grape varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon (a vitis vinifera species) and Norton/Cynthiana (a vitis aestivalis species), with our first harvest being in the summer of 2009. The third plot (Petit Manseng), a small white grape, was planted in 2008 and premiered its first vintage in the Spring of 2011. Here at Cavender we endeavor to produce hand-crafted wines that reflect the personal attention to detail and «pampering», from planting to bottling.
