The vast majority of reviews are written by employees. We initially LOVED Tonchu. Then we moved 20 miles away and they tried to bill us 4K for the remainder of a black belt program we had no idea we were signing up for (for an 8 year old!) Shameful business practices. They have done this multiple times. Extortion, with uniforms. They will also try to delete negative reviews. Just stay away.

TONCHU Martial Arts Academy is an amazing experience from day one to career path level. I have been training in martial arts for 22 years, and while many of those years were at different schools learning different styles, I have learned and grown more at TONCHU in my 6 year history here than in my collective experience elsewhere. There is a path for you from white belt up to school owner and everything in between. The curriculum taught is a hybrid of old traditions with a new attitude. While many people research what style they want to train; TONCHU Martial Arts Academy trains you in every area, allowing you to have triumphs and failures to help you grow. Lastly I want to mention Black Belt testing, as this is the main objective of most students. We test at Stone Mountain resort, and complete the test by running up the mountain. Getting your black belt at TONCHU is an unforgettable experience.
