Description

History

Established in 1999.

In June of 1999, Hebron Baptist Church purchased Northeast Atlanta Christian School and established Hebron Christian Academy. Scott C. Smith was appointed President of HCA, and John Doran was appointed President of the Board of Directors. Classes began in August 1999, with an enrollment of 386 students. Nine students graduated in 2000.

During the 2000 – 2001 school year, a new eight-​classroom modular building was installed on the Elementary campus. The High School met at Hebron Baptist Church. HCA received accreditation from the Georgia Association of Christian Schools. Enrollment grew to 497 students, with 16 graduates. In September 2001, a second campus was added and the High School relocated to 570 Dacula Road. In HCA’s third year of operation, enrollment reached 584 students, with 14 graduates.

Mr. Timothy J. Hillen has a B.S. in Social Studies from Taylor University, a M.A. in Educational Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and an Ed. Specialists degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-​Michigan.

Timothy Hillen accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1957, and was baptized that year at Calvary Baptist Church, in Southgate, MI. Timothy and Marty have been married for 39 years. They have a daughter, Cheryl – age 34, former high school English teacher, school counselor, etc. and a son, Mark – age 32, a 2002 graduate of West Point, Army Captain, and now a project manager for Ernst & Young. They have two grandsons, Silas and Andreas through their daughter Cheryl. Mark is not married, but would be a great catch!
