I am saddened to learn the Dr. Winkle sold his practice. He has been my doctor for over 40 years. When he was able to do surgery, he removed my gall bladder. In fact, I was his last surgery ever because at the time he turned 60 and the insurance company jacked up his rates, so Dr. Winkle decided to not do surgeries any longer. Apparently, Dr. Winkle will stay on for a while during the transition, so I hope to see him again before he retires. He was the best doctor ever. His office staff can be rude at times(Jenny), but at the same some of his hired help has been the greatest. When people complain here, they are talking about Jenny, a New Yorker who often appears completely disorganized and lost in paperwork. If the new doctor doesn’t live up to Dr. Winkle’s standards, I will find a new family doctor after all these years. I am truly sad to see you go, but you deserve a rest.

DR Winkle is a DR who really cares about his patients. He takes time with you and is thorough in discussing all your concerns. It is a casual but professional office atmosphere that puts one at ease. I have every confidence in his ability as a DR and feel as if I’m part of a family. While there may be a bit of a wait(unless an emergency arises less than an hour generally) you are provided with a large, flat screen TV to watch entertaining programs(not tapes of how to lower your cholesterol).

I was using the medical network provider directory to call around and Evelyn was nice and patient even when I called back after we got disconnected a few times. She was even informative enough to let me know who I was assigned to and that I would have to call medical to get reassigned. Appointments were not available until the following week though starting Monday.

This office is the by far the least professional that I have ever dealt in my life. First I spoke with the gal Evelyn and she came up with the excuse that the system was down because of the(weather). Next I spoke with the office manager(Jenny) and she said it wasn’t because the weather but because I was not found in the system. Again I highly recommend staying away from this office due to the fact that morons are running the operation. Overall, what a joke for a medical practice.

Literally the rudest, least helpful staff I’ve ever dealt with in any establishment, ever. I show up 15 minutes early for my appointment, and the whale working at the front desk reprimanded me for being so early. I wait for half an hour before being told they were too busy and couldn’t see me– even though I had an appointment. Been trying to get in here for weeks. Sadly I was assigned here as my primary care physician by my insurance. That was a mistake. Doctor might be great– who knows. The ugly chicks up front clinging to the little bit of power they have in life prevent him from being able to do his job.

Dr. Winkel is a very good doctor. He’s an old-school doctor that really knows how to take care of his patients. I was a patient of his for almost 2 years until I ran into a situation with his office clerk Lorena. She was very rude and unprofessional to me so I had to file a grievance with the state of California and my insurance company to complain about her for refusing to do her job which she is paid to do and file an authorization for a medical procedure that I much needed. I had explained to her why I was able to keep my previous appointments and this she did not understand and she went all Dr. Jeckal and Mr. Hyde on me. I highly recommend that you do not deal with her. Talk with with Dr. Winkle only. I have now changed doctors and I am very happy and I am glad to get away from the rudest staff and the attitude that I would have to put up with every time I checked into that doctors office. I’m the wrong person to piss off because I do file lawsuits and I do complain.

My friend John had such a Bad experience with Dr. Winkle and his Upfront Staff that I brought him to see my Doctor! He has a Tumor in his Chest and a Tailbone injury thus he cannot sit that long. He is kept waiting for 2 or more hours and then is told you can’t see the doctor! Today he finally wanted to pick up his long awaited results which he had called earlier about and was told that he could not do that! The reason because the Medical Records Personnel was not there, why wasn’t he told that she’s there on certain days! He just wants a doctor that truly cares about him and others!

My family has been going to Dr. Winkle for 11 years. The wait is often long, but that is because he spends time with his patients. He actually listens to the patient, and in doing so, sometimes needs to spend time on a matter the patient hadn’t come in for. However, if you have an urgent need, you can almost always be seen the same day you call.
