History

Established in 2012.

For most of my life I think I wanted to own my own business… after many starts and stops, mostly in my thought processes, I gave in to the desire at 64. Having a love for vintage anything, shabby chic, costume and vintage jewelry (what woman doesn’t love jewelry), knick-knacks and home décor I finally decided that I had found my niche. From the beginning, I wanted to name my business «A Tisket a Tasket»… but discovered that there were dozens of stores across the US named «A Tisket a Tasket» so I started throwing words together with my favorite color purple… and thus PURPLE SAGE.

Did I think I would become a millionaire? No, but that would be a nice side effect… Did I think I would love what I was doing? Yes… and I do. I love meeting my customers… new and return. I love them finding something that excites or pleases them… I even love it when someone comes in and looks around and says «What a wonderful store… I’ll be back for sure» and doesn’t buy anything

Meet the Business Owner

Marjean C.

Business Owner

After graduating from CSUF I was privileged to be the director of an Adult Day Care Center. Following this I went on to become the Coordinator for City of Santa Ana Senior Shared Housing Program and worked closely with the Orange County Homeless Coalition. Both programs were not only personally rewarding but were also where I began public speaking. All funding was lost for Shared Housing Programs so I fell into working with the Job Training Partnership Act. After working as a monitor and marketing coordinator, I began to work one-on-one with job seekers providing assessment, coordination of employment plans, vocational and career counseling and job development. This also began my love for writing curriculum and conducting job search workshops. Now as the Career Services Manager I am able to use skills I acquired along the way: coaching, counseling, presenting, writing, event planning, assisting businesses. And now, I also own a business. What more could a person ask for?
