Sandra greeted me as soon as I arrived. I was a walk in and she was able to find someone to do my hair. Parvin did my hair and I love it! Super nice lady and color corrected my hair and made it feel so healthy. I am so grateful. She definitely has a new client! I am a hair fanatic so my friends are always asking me where I go. I will for sure be referring this place.

I’ve been going to John Douglas for years now and am completely happy with their service. They have a great staff and great service. Stacey does my hair and never lets me down. She is so detailed with her coloring and is great at cutting and styling. She has reasonable prices as well.

I have been going to Sandra, the owner, for several years. She always does such a precise haircut. She works with all textures of hair. She is so friendly and personable, too. She is so good that she can be booked three weeks in advance, but she will put you on a waiting list and call if there’s a cancellation. I called today for an appt., thinking that it’d be about 3 weeks, but she put me in immediately! Her prices are reasonable, especially considering the amount of time that she spends on each client. They do save Brazillian blow-​outs that are amazing! She’s a great colorist, as well. Her hair styles are current, but she’ll do any style you want. Most of their clients are females, but they style men and children, too. She has a day spa in the back of her salon, so don’t think that this is a tiny place. All of the customers that I’ve seen there have been very happy with other stylists, too. I highly recommend this place!

I’ve been going to Parvin to get my eyebrows threaded since I was you get and she does a amazing job not only with threading but also facials I have gotten from here that transform my skin and waxing services. I recommend her to all my friends and family !! She always accommodates with time as well and adjusts her schedule for me ! Definitely try her out and you won’t go anywhere else ;)

Once again… Awesome job Sandra did on my hair! I have received soooo many compliments on it!!! I could live with this color forever :)

I LOVE John Douglas Salon! I have been coming to the salon since 2000, after losing my hair to chemotherapy. After growing my hair back and finally ready for my first «real» hair cut, I came to Sandra and gave her full reign to do whatever she wanted. Using her many years of experience, training and expertise in hair-​coloring techniques, she literally had me blown away by the time she was finished. Not only was my hair styled gorgeously, but the color was a beautiful shade of blonde with highlights that were absolutely striking.
Over the past 13 years of having my hair styled at John Douglas, and having a front row chair at the entrance of the salon, I’ve had the ability to see hundreds of customers who have had their hair styled here, and I’m always in awe of how amazing the customers look as they walk out the door. I’ve seen everything from girls getting «up-​dos» for proms to women who have had the bad experience of a terrible dye job from other salons to elderly women who come in for their weekly hairstyle, and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed by what I’ve seen — not from any stylist at John Douglas — ever.
Over the past couple years, I started to incorporate some of the other amenities of the salon, including facials and manicures/​pedicures. Genna, who has worked at the salon for several years as the esthetician and skin care specialist, has an amazingly soft touch, and every time I get a facial from her, I feel absolutely and completely pampered. The same is true for Chelsea, who is the manicurist/​pedicurist. She puts 1,000% into everything she does, including everything from the creativity she uses to polish your nails to the foot massage she gives with every pedicure. My only regret is that I didn’t start using their services earlier. Another absolute must is to ask for Somya, one of the stylists and also Sandra’s assistant, to wash your hair. She is a trained therapist who literally has the unbelievable ability to make the «dreaded» hair washing sink an enjoyable experience.

I was told to go to this salon and ask for Trang.
I needed to get my roots done and tone down some brassiness. I told Trang everything I wanted and got some AWESOME results. I absolutely love my hair and will continue coming here.
I honestly never would have known this salon was here. All the girls are friendly and it’s not like those huge superstore salons that are hard to navigate and have the talking buzz set on high.
I will definitely be coming back!

I first started seeing owner Sandra Dee Kirkwood when she worked at another salon, and followed her to John Douglas when she opened it over 20 years ago. Not only is the salon itself, and all of the staff terrific, but Sandra’s work just cannot be beat anywhere! Believe me when I tell you that if you want an ARTIST to take care of your hair needs, Sandra is the person to see.
I also highly recommend this salon for any GOOD stylists out there that are looking for a fabulous place to work.

I went to Parvin Avari to get my eyebrows threaded. She always does an amazing job and she is so affordable. For $ 13, she cleans up my eyebrows for great definition and cleanliness. I have been her customer for over 8 years and would never change. I would never trust my eyebrows to anybody else.

I was referred to Sandra by a good friend, and have returned 3 times since. I plan to keep her as my stylist, even though it’s a long trip for me. I came in to get a Brazilian blowout. According to her, I had the curliest hair of anyone she’s done it on, and I am very pleased with the result! I gave her free rein to decide what hair color & cut would suit me best. She presented everything to me & asked for my approval before starting in. I feel like I look the best I have in a long time. It is the rare stylist, in my experience, who truly understands how to look at a person’s face & skin tone and then come up with a total package that looks great. It is not inexpensive, yet she rivals many out there who charge much more and don’t make you as pretty!

Nancy no longer cuts hair here, but I had Natalie instead and she did a great job — I cut 12 inches off for Lock Of Love and she shaped a short bob out of my curly hair, and sent me home a happy camper. John Douglas Salon choose their stylists well.

Just had my eyebrows done by Parvin Avari. She shapes and maintains eyebrows wonderfully. I have been her customer for 17 years now and the people who referred me are still her customers as well. Douglas John Salon is lucky to have her as well as all of the customers who frequent there. I was suckered in to purchasing one of these promotional packages. In my defense, the guy was a very very good sales person. Anyways, I chose a stylist at this place because it was a few minutes away from my house and wanted to find a new place other than the salon I frequent in Irvine. I did, however, complete all 3 of my visits because I felt guilty for buying the darn promo, so I HAD to get my moneys worth.
I’m not sure how the other stylist are. but mine. the one part of the promo, who should be trying to get a clientèle, Tina, with a G, was pretty horrible. I am also a very prompt person and she was late. The 1^st visit consists of a consultation, and a free wash and cut. I decided to color my hair back to its natural color as well. Let’s just say I wasn’t sure if she was dying my hair, or making splatter art on my body. Spots all over my arms and I had to mention something when i felt flickers of it getting on my cheeks, chin, forehead… Good thing I wore a black t-​shirt. Another thing that irked me was that after the wash, the robes were not long enough, nor did she tie my hair in a towel, so my entire back was wet when I left.
2^nd visit. woohoo she was on time and actually beat me. Nope, she was in the middle of talking with a co-​worker so I still had to wait for them to finish. This was for deep conditioning so can’t really mess that up. I asked how much this would normally cost and she said about like 20 bucks. Man, stupid promo was not worth it.
3^rd visit. I decided to get hidden highlights to add a little texture to my blacker than black colored hair. I believed she messed up because it took extra long at the sink to re-​color some parts. Normally, I wouldn’t have minded, but she couldn’t figure out how to get the seat back to recline so my neck and back were not able to rest comfortably while she washed it.
I asked her how the promotion was doing for her and if clients came back to use the 50% off card. She said ‘Not really.” Gooooo figure.
