H&R Block

I will never go to them again. I felt rushed. My appt started 24 minutes late and I felt like the preparer didn’t want to take the time to itemize. I just finished up and filed but after thinking about it I feel that the $ 382.00 charge was alot for the knowledge that the preparer didn’t have. I regret that I didn’t take the time to go to a private CPA and get them done correctly. I will pay even more now to have them amended. Shame on me!

so i called around h&r blocks to see if they’d do a Second Look on a general partnership business tax. I was pointed to this H&R Block in Cypress on Meridian.
I did the taxes on turbo tax and it was the first time i’ve done it. the amount came out to zero which seemed weird to me so i thought i’d check it out with an expert… turns out they’re not experts though i was pointed directly to them. I just wanted to know why it was zero, and she did not seem to know how to answer me. then she thought my schedule K should show $ 0 for every partner and the business should be taxed since the profits were not distributed. I did a simple google search and found this not to be true.
I called her to tell her this, and she just said my numbers were wrong and she hasn’t gotten to look at them yet. whatever, i’m filing without her. I thought second look would take a day. I doubt she’ll call back.

It’s not a good thing when you pay more to your tax preparer than you do to the government.
$ 100 maybe $ 200 but when it is more than twice that, no thank you.
Yes, we waited till the last minute, but still.
If you have 1099 –more than one, stay away. They will charge you for each one. Our tax preparer was nice, knowledgeable, and prompt but still the whole point is to try and save yourself money, not feel gouged as you walk away. Never again.
