This feedback is from a guest attending a wedding at the clubhouse last Saturday. Insights to help others and help the establishment. In terms of a wedding venue — good points: secluded location; outdoor setting was relaxing and picturesque; outdoor patio was intimate; smoking was permitted outside; reception banquet room was large; dance floor was good size; parking lot was big; bathrooms were clean except for cockroaches running around and late-​nite lack of hand towels & toilet paper (an awkward position to be in dressed up, checking the restrooms is needed). Areas for improvement: 1) The outdoor wooden pavillion had spider cobwebs hovering over your head yuck! and in need of painting; 2) Outdoor sound system was non-​existing or wasn’t used. It had portable speakers setup in the back behind the guests with the sound emitting to the guests backs, you could not clearly hear exchanging of vows in front of you, this was a really poor sound setup; 3) The white plastic chairs the guests sat on were dirty, left some white marks on dark clothes; 3) The older lady officiating the wedding was reading vows from her notes like it was her first time doing a wedding, stumbling over her words, comical straight out of SNL; 4) Wedding planner was a bit tense and stood out too much like a bad trombone player in an orchestra; 5) The reception bartender had a bad attitude, lacked professional manners in how he tossed cocktails together acting like he really didn’t want to be there; 6) The sound system in banquet room, maybe it was the DJ equipment but it was amateurism, squeaky whine microphone during speeches & toasts, depending on where you were sitting you could not hear well, banquet room needs a sound system with speakers in all corners; 7) Food was so-​so but on cold side, don’t understand why wedding venues can’t serve hot food of more desirable presentation, do not order the stuffed chicken! Bread rolls were fresh and tasty. The late night dancing til midnight made wedding a fun time. Only if they had ceiling strobe lights it would have made the party much more festive.

Great food for a Naval installation. The fish was great along with the sides. Who would have thought good luck d Navy chow but it was.

This is a hidden gem. If you ever visited the Naval Shipyard in Long Beach when you were a kid, this place is reminiscent of the CPO club at the base. I never knew this place was here. Hidden away in the Los Alamitos Golf Course is this restaurant called the Eagle’s Nest. We actually attended a luncheon in the banquet room of the facility, next to the restaurant and it’s quaint. Service was great and the set-​up is nice. It took me back in time and I loved that about this place. The views were very pretty.

Working with Hoss and Pamela at Eagle’s Nest to plan our wedding made the entire process so stress free!!! The team there was so accommodating, patient, and professional through the planning stages and even more amazing on the day of our wedding! The food, the drinks, the service, and everything in between were exceptional!!! My husband and I truly could not ask for a better team to help us plan our special day! Thank you Hoss and Pamela for making everything memorable!

My friend had the pleasure of holding her reception here, it was a nice venue with very helpful staff! It is amazing that one person can take your entire experience from good to great, Jamez Palacio was that person! He should be recognized for wonderful customer service! A great wedding is made in the small details and he definitely understands that! Thank you so much Jamez! You were awesome!

We had the pleasure of having our wedding (Ceremony and Reception) at the Eagles Nest Club House on 5.1.15. It was the perfect day! We would not change anything about our day and with the staff at the clubhouse.
We are blessed we came across this venue!
Pamela K, the catering manager is absolutely amazing to work with. She is very easy to work with and was quick fulfill any questions/​needs we had along our journey. Our day would not have been possible, and amazing, without Pam and her amazing staff. Everyone was simply easy to work with.
You get ample parking for your guest. If you are doing an evening event, it is perfect as the only cars in the parking will be your guests at the end of the night. You do not have to worry about guests having to walk so far before they depart.
We lodged our guest at the Courtyard (less than a mile away) and Hyatt House (maybe 1.2 miles away. This made it easy for out of town guests.
We served our guest with the Filet Mignon and Salmon with veggies and mashed potatoes. Other than our guest complementing how nice the venue was, a large amount of guests thanked us for the amazing choice on food and expressed how good it was. My wife and I even said we would sit down in the future for dinner, from time to time, just to have their food again. When planning our wedding I came across people stating it is important to have a good DJ and good food. With this venue, you are already half way to «having a good wedding».
Do not hesitate to use this venue! you will not regret anything! Even down to picture locations, this venue has it all and something for everyone!
I would look to use this venue for future festivities. Yes it is that good.

I recently had my wedding reception here last month (March 28 2015) and everything turned out AAMMaaaaaaaaazing i wouldn’t change a thing and if i could i would relive that day again, thats how awesome it was.
Pamela the Catering Manager is AMAZING. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was ready for my special day from the first day i met with her till the big day. She connects with her clients which made me feel like she was 100 percent with me throughout all the planning arrangements. Not only is she super sweet and helpful but she is a pleaser and will do anything in her power to work with your ideas for your event which i really loved. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with.
I also worked with Kierstin and Jose throughout the planning and they were also GRRREAT along with their awesome serving staff and bartenders. Everyone was always happy to help and were super friendly.
I held my wedding reception at the eagles nest club house which worked out great since we only had about 75 guests. Jose worked with me to customize the seating arrangements and tables exactly the way i wanted. When i walked in the day of the wedding everything looked beautiful. The setup looked great, the staff even set up my center pieces and decorations for me because i was running late. The food was delicious, i got a lot of good reviews from my guest about the food and drinks. We added the cash bar option to our package which was great. The prices were reasonable which worked in our favor since there was no room for a open bar in our budget. I did want to provide at least 1 free drink per guest so Pamela customized a great ticket option for us that worked out perfectly and was super easy to hand out to our guests. i had a hard time finding a good dj that i liked that would play both english and spanish music, Pamela recommend DJ Louis so i contacted him and i am so glad i did. He was amazing! He was super nice and energetic, everyone loved him at my wedding and i would recommend him to anyone especially if you are planning a event at the navy golf course.
Over all it was an amazing night that i will always remember, i owe it all to the great staff that made everything perfect and i will recommend this venue to everyone i know for any future events. Its places and people like these that can make you special day perfect and i am forever grateful!

This venue was absolutely amazing to work with. I have the pleasure of doing business with Kirsten, and she was extremely professional and knowledgeable. This is high praise coming from me because I have been in the event industry for over 30 years.
My event was a celebration of life that was planned from start to finish in three days time. The room is absolutely lovely and was set to my specifications. The banquet staff what’s also helpful and most accommodating.
The food was quite good and frequently replenished. It never looked like anything was running low. That is saying something because 100+ ravenous locusts can quickly deplete a buffet.
I would love the opportunity to work with the Eagles Nest again, hopefully under happier circumstances.

Went to the Eagles Nest Bar/​Restaurant after playing golf and was truly disappointed. There were no limes for a margarita and there was not popcorn or peanuts. I’ll be going elsewhere after golf!

My husband and I live in the neighborhood next to the Naval Golf Course in Cypress, at Orangewood and Valley View. We watched them build the new Clubhouse a couple of years ago, but just saw a banner saying the Eagle’s Nest restaurant was open to the public and thought we’d check it out. We walked over this morning for breakfast, and really enjoyed it. There wasn’t a soul in there when we arrived, but golfers came in for breakfast during our stay. The food was quite good and very reasonably priced. Not fancy, but tasty and satisfying. We both ordered omelets, which came with home-​style potatoes and toast. Everything was fresh, the servings were ample and at $ 7 each the price was totally reasonable.
It does say they do a Sunday Brunch as well as dinner on their website, but that is no longer the case, only breakfast and lunch. But the bar is open all day, so if you wanted to have Mimosas or Bloody Mary’s with breakfast you totally could!
There’s also a huge banquet room, outdoor patio and Gazebo. The décor is nice and cozy, with lots of beautiful dark wood trim and furniture and fireplaces in the dining areas.
We really enjoyed our breakfast and will definitely go back. Perfect local spot for us.

Best place you can go to with family. Beautiful view and the food is great! Love love love this beautiful restaurant!

This review is for our experience with the Clubhouse as a whole. Eagle’s Nest was the very first reception venue we looked at during our search.
The venue is massive with great décor and ambiance. The golf course is pretty for photographs and we really loved the white gazebo in the back. The ballroom is beautiful and spacious.
We continued to search for a reception venue, but eventually came back and booked Eagles Nest as we fell in love with the place and their packages and prices are VERY REASONABLE. They are also very easy to talk to and very accomodating.
The only hiccups we ran into were all related to the coordinator. She kept forgetting details about our wedding and was sometimes… for lack of a better term… «bipolar» on us. One day she was all smiles, the next she was demeaning. She never called me back for anything — I mostly had to keep trying to catch her on the phone. Also, two weeks before the wedding, I personally called her to remind her that we need to finalize everything and settle the balance. I felt like I was doing her job for her. Finally, when we were getting ready to settle the balance, she kept forgetting what was added/​removed from our package. She insisted to charge us for the projector rental, which she had verbally said will be included in our package. It’s too bad we neglected to have her write it – we lost that battle and had to pay even though the conversation really happened. Then a few days before the wedding, she was saying our package should have included the projector! And when we told her she charged us for it, she immediately retracted her statement and indicated she really was supposed to charge us. VERY CONFUSED LADY!
Don’t get me wrong, the crew and the venue are awesome, but the lady can be tough to work with at times. She is a sweet lady and can be fun to talk to, but she has her days.
You will have a great time and experience at this place — it is well worth every penny. Plus, they all work hard and are very accomodating. Just make sure you look past the coordinator and bring a lot of patience with you!
Now, if you are the type of bride who will not have an actual wedding coordinator like I did who will mostly be dealing with the coordinator at Eagles Nest, I would weigh out all options very carefully. Brides are already stressed as it is and without your own wedding coordinator to deal with Eagles Nest — it may not be worth it after all.
Food was great during the tasting, but disappointing once mass produced. The tri tips were tough the day of the wedding!

More things that I forgot about:
When I’d pick decorations, colors, theme options~ she would always discourage it and make me feel like it was going to be ugly. My cake for instance, I didn’t want flowers on it and wanted it to be really plain. She gave me such a hard time for it.
The venue coordinator should be helpful and supportive, not another annoying opinion that has nothing to do with my day! She also showed us pictures of cakes other brides chose that she thought was ugly.
I do NOT want the venue I chose for my wedding to go around telling people how ugly my wedding was or my choices in venue. SO INSULTING and unprofessional.

Came in for a quick lunch, kinda of busy but Alisha was an excellent server. She was so knoweledgeable about the menu and restaurant. She was patient and sweet when i couldnt decide what i wanted. she took care of us start to finish, even after we payed. The food was good but the service was better

Looks like a good place for a private event… OK place for breakfast.
Limited selections. Limited hours.
Free parking though! And you’ll have the place to yourselves!
The server was very helpful nd very patient.

This review is soley for the venue and interaction with the wedding coordinator.
This was the 2^nd venue I looked at for my wedding and was impressed by the site. It is very pretty and the layout is spacious and has beautiful scenry. (check out my photos to see if you agree) The price of this venue is also very affordable for a bride on a budget as well. The packages are very reasonable, you can trust me because I have searched and searched venues and vendors since this whole wedding process started (all because he asked… darn him, lol). There is adequate restrooms for your guests and even a bridal room (the board room that is right next to the woman’s restroom). The sites for an outdoor ceremony is really pretty. I especially love the tall structure above one of ceremony sites. You can do so much with that, decorating wise.
Now as for the wedding coordinator that I was in contact with, her name is Gina M. and she was very attentive at first through email and phone calls. But when my fiancé and I were serious about actually signing a contract, she seemed to flake on us. She was not returning our emails and voice mail messages. I was really disappointed because she was so good at getting back to me in the beginning. I was also able to bargain the price down a bit per person, which would have helped us save more money if we booked here.
In the end, we both decided against this place even though the price was right and the venue and location was perfect. We figured that if we were going to get this kind of service through email and phone, then it made us wonder what kind of service would we get on the day of our wedding? Ya I don’t think I would like that added stress on top of an already stressful day.

I loved the location as soon as my husband and I toured it for our wedding. When we finally decided on the venue we were thrilled.
We did have some hiccups on the way to our big day. I honestly the biggest headache was the event coordinator at the location. She wasn’t very timely at getting back to us when we either called or emailed her and that was very frustrating.
The day of our rehearsal there was a wedding that was going on and she never informed us of that, so we had to practice in the lobby. i was so embarrassed that we had to do that. It would have been courteous of her to inform me ahead of time that way we could have come earlier to practice. She didn’t even inform us that we had signed our contract just for our reception until i emailed her a week before I ordered our invitations for the event. I was quite livid at that point and wanted to go elsewhere to have our wedding. But at the end of the day the wedding was perfect. the location is beautiful, food drinks and the staff were great. I just would recommend not using that coordinator unless you have the patience to deal with her.

Two things to ignore:
(a) Their website which says they serve Sunday Brunch and also have dinner hours. They only did that the first couple months they were open, but business wasn’t sufficient to maintain that. Really a shame, but not surprising given it’s hard to maintain fine dining when the room is constantly being utilized by the golfers. So now they are only open for breakfast and lunch.
(b) Google maps instructs one to go east on Orangewood … well, don’t … head West young man!!! The street dead-​ends into the Naval golf course and the driver will need to show one of the guards a driver’s license.
Our waitress was absolutely delightful, super duper helpful, and contributed to a great experience. While the menu is mostly sandwiches and salads, that sort of thing, they do have a lunch special in the $ 7.95−9.95 range. My husband tried that, fried chicken, and it was served with a salad and a massive heaping of delicious potato salad on the plate. I always say that sign of a good place to eat is whether they make their own salad dressings — which they do — and the blue cheese was great (so good my husband dipped his chicken into it). My taco salad was fine.
We’d definitely feel comfortable going back. Neither of us anticipated a relatively attractive clubhouse on what is basically naval property. The dining area has comfortable chairs, and it’s a nice place to grab a bite, sit back and relax. There’s also a full bar open.

Sshhhhh… I’ve got a secret. Come closer… it’s a military secret.
The Naval Golf course in Cypress has a restaurant called the Eagle’s Nest and get this. You don’t have to be in the Navy to eat there. Yeah, that’s right, good food and drink at great prices.
I went to their Sunday brunch which is from 9 AM-​2 PM and all I have to say is, «what a deal!» Great spread in a classy environment. The Navy has always been know for good food and this just confirms it. They also have an outdoor patio area which would be perfect for sunny days. You can also rent the space out for events like weddings.
Normally, they serve only breakfast and lunch, but on Sunday they have a brunch. They also have Holiday Buffets for Easter, Mother’s and Father’s Day and Thanksgiving in which they serve shrimp and crab legs. I’m be there, reporting for duty!
