Cy-Fair’s premier early childhood center and preschool opened a 2^nd location in Tomball, Texas in 2012. Our Tomball location accepts infants from six weeks.

Building Rainbows Cypress offers care for toddlers (14 months) through school age. Building Rainbows-​Tomball will provide care for children from six weeks through school age. Our Cypress location has been in the same location near Huffmeister and 290 for 30 years. Our Cypress location is located on two beautiful acres on a quiet side street.

Our Cypress location provides before and after school care to many CFISD elementary schools including Millsap, Adam, Farney, Lamkin, Black and Hamilton.

Our Tomball location provides before and after school care for schools in the Tomball, Magnolia and Klein school districts.

Both locations have a wonderful summer camp program that brings children back every year to see their old friends and participate in our onsite and offsite activities

History

Established in 1984.

Building Rainbows Day School was started in 1984 by Donna Frederick. In 2007, Donna sold the school to Steve Sandweiss. While the ownership changed, the «Family» that is Building Rainbows continues to grow. The school has continued to operate as Donna wished and most of our teachers have remained in place or relocated to our Tomball location since the transition. Several of our teachers have been here for more than 10 years and many others have been with us for more than 5 years. We now have many second generation families in attendance as previous students have enrolled their own children and many previous teachers have come back to enroll their own children.

In 2012, a 2^nd location of Building Rainbows Pre School was opened in Tomball, Tx. across from the Post Office. The Director of the new location is Veronica Gonzales. Ms. Gonzales previously worked at the Cypress location for the last 14 years in a variety of teaching and management positions.

Meet the Business Owner

Steve S.

Business Owner

Prior to entering the Child Care Industry in 2005, Steve S. was a partner in an international accounting firm and lived in Moscow, Warsaw and London. Steve currently owns four other child care centers in the Houston area in addition to Building Rainbows-​Cypress; Building Rainbows Tomball location (77 375); Tiger Land in Old Katy (77 493), A Child’s Reflection in Katy (77 450) and Grandma’s House Child Care in West Houston (77 082).

Steve purchased these schools from their original owners who had started the schools in the 1980’s.
