Robert and his assistant Jeff set up a new TV /​surround sound system, and wired us up for wifi throughout the house. It was a pretty big job (5+ hours) and they fitted us in at short notice, working around our schedule. The system works great, and Robert has been very responsive and professional the couple of times we’ve had follow-​up questions. I would highly recommend Robert and his work.

Robert is just about the worst, least dependable contractor we’ve ever hired. He grumbled and complained during the entire installation process a few years back. We thought he was just in a bad mood. Now we’ve requested some additional support to fix a minor issue and he has dropped appointment after appointment. No return phone calls, no apologies. We have even taken off work to sit in our house and wait for him to arrive… but no Robert. Seriously, do we have to beg for his services? Don’t bother calling him! Get a real professional who actually knows what customer service is. Can I give negative stars? I seriously think his family is giving all these rave reviews… I just don’t see it.

Robert and Jeff came by my new home today to set up a brand new 75″ Samsung 4K tv with a sturdy wall mount. They were on time, courteous, professional, and in and out in less than an hour.
I would recommend them for any home audio or visual needs hands down and will be using them again in the future!

Robert installed a TV and Sound Bar on my outdoor patio. I received several bids and Robert was in the ballpark of all of them but his professionalism and knowledge was superior to others. I highly recommend Robert!

Robert installed some surround sound speakers and re-​mounted my TV. He did an excellent job and was very professional. His price was reasonable and I am very pleased with his service. I will definitely use him for my next project.

Robert came out and installed our TV & Speakers over the fireplace mantle and installed 2 separate AC access points that provided load balancing. It was a fairly difficult install as the ceilings had no attic being cathedral ceilings.
Couldn’t be happier with the service that was provided. Robert knows his stuff. He is very very knowledgeable about all types of technology.

Robert is THE MAN. Excellent service and reasonable pricing. Always on-​call for any questions or issues we’ve had regarding our equipment. He installed all our TV’s, media room and cured our internet issues. We’d use him over and over again. Thanks for great service Robert!

Will definitely be calling Robert for any future projects! He installed outdoor speakers by our pool and also hid some ugly wires around our entertainment center. Rob came out on short notice when installer recommended by Amazon failed to show at the appointed time and installed a large TV, surround and outdoor speakers. Rob recommended better wire than what the no-​show installer had spec’d to help avoid deterioration in the walls and attic. He also helped optimize placement of our speakers given our room arrangement and where we typically sit.
My only regret is not calling Rob in the first place as I think I could have saved a bunch of aggravation and likely some money on equipment!

We had Robert out a little over a month ago to install a great deal of equipment at our house… which we just moved in to. The areas of installation were: media room install, audio rocks by pool, patio speakers and outdoor tv, and built-​in speakers in office/​bedroom/​living room. With all of this work I was certain the price would be high to have completed at once… although Robert worked the numbers to make it affordable. It was important to my wife and I to have things simple to operate, so Robert set everything up through our smart devices.
I have waited about a month to ensure I was still as excited about the quality of work and service provided by Robert and I am happy to say things could not be better. With this much installation of technology there is a good chance some fine tuning will be required… which it was. Robert has come back out to our house twice and has everything fully operational.
I am not one to come online and write a review, but I must say that we have been totally pleased with the pride and craftsmanship Robert takes with our job and I am sure yours too!

I can’t speak highly enough about the service and install from Robert. He mounted my 64″ tv, installed an outlet and ran all wires through the wall for a nice, clean look. He’s very knowledgable and easy to talk to. As a bonus he helped me tweak my home theater and network to run more efficiently. I would not hesitate to recommend him to family and friends. I look forward to working with Robert with future purchases and projects.

Robert was recommended to us by a friend and we’re glad to have used his services. We had our TV mounted on the wall to keep our 18 month old away from it. He did a great job in hiding all the wires and cables.

Robert was kind enough to fit us in at very short notice since another company failed to show up. He was brusque and yet a little know-​it-​all-​ish at the same time. He said things like visible wires were like nails on a chalkboard and he will not do them. However, he did have a lot of good information and once we got past his demeanor, he was able to give us ideas on how to set up both our family room and our media room in our new home. His visit was on May 5. He was supposed to get us an estimate. On May 6 I sent him a text asking him to add a couple of more items to the estimate. That was the last time I heard from him. It is now May 12. I just sent him another text and maybe he will reply. My husband is disabled and we just really want to get a nice area set up for him to watch movies and TV. But I guess we will end up using another service. Thank you anyway.
Let me just edit this now to say that Robert had enough time to call me this morning and was rather upset at this review. I was just honestly stating how I felt about our interaction. Again, thank you anyway.

Text message from Robert at 11:16 a.m. today «After helping you with design ideas and telling you the truth about your pre-​wire scenario and not being able to put the TV on the fireplace. You insist on doing this. It’s easy for someone who sits at a desk to complain about companies that they know nothing about. I need to respectfully decline your project.»
I am sorry that you are so upset about this. You failed to get me an estimate. You did not have the project in your hands to decline. I am actually glad we decided to go another way, because he was really irate and obviously not able to take constructive criticism.

Awesome service. Great communication. Great price. Installer came over for free estimate and ended up charging me less than he quoted (probably not the norm but awesome for me!!) Install of mounting 60″ TV above fireplace, hiding wires, and hooking up sound bar took less than 90 minutes. With all the random individuals that claim they can do this (and most likely for a little less $) don’t waste your time. Use AV Dreams and rest easy. It’s worth a little more, even if they don’t charge it!

We used Robert for all of our home audio and video installations over the past year. We are very pleased with the job Robert did in our family room, bedroom, patio, game room, and media room. He installed a 100″ Black Diamond screen and projector in the media room and he quality of his work is excellent. He was courteous, reasonably priced, and very knowledgeable of the latest equipment. I recently had a 50 inch plasma mounted in my bedroom and Rob did an excellent Job! He moved the wiring behind the TV so everything is nice and neat with no wiring exposed. I highly recommend using them, very reasonably priced and top notch quality!

Rob was helpful in straightening out the messes that came before him with our existing audio/​video equipment. He came up with creative solutions that didn’t cost a fortune to accomplish what we needed. I really appreciated his attitude and patience.

We recently moved to Houston, and brought our TV, speakers, Xbox and Apple TV with us (since my previous home is on the market, and it is fully staged, I did not move all of my other entertainment equipment, ie: surround sound speakers, 3d TV, etc).
I explained to Robert that I want a temporary entertainment set up, and would like to have a clean and professional look without wires showing. I also did not want him to drill holes in the wall until the rest of my equipment arrived. He understood what I wanted and was able to neatly set and arrange our entertainment area. He hid the wires and made the area look clean and professional.
I will definitely hire him again once the rest of my equipment arrives. He is very creative and knowledgable.

Robert did a wonderful job mounting our tv. We were extremely happy with how fast he worked and how clean everything was after. He was very knowledgeable and helpful when making decisions.

They did a great job setting up our home theater system. All of the wires are hidden and everything works as promised. The pricing is better than online. I’ll definitely use them again!

Robert Hamer is the best, most knowledgeable AV professional out there! Just call him! You won’t be disappointed.
Robert fit me in during the crazy holiday time right around Christmas/​New Years and estimated the proper amount of time to get the job done. I have worked with about 4 different AV companies in the past from larger companies like Tweeter (out of business) to smaller outfits specializing in structured wiring/​electrical work. They all seem to underestimate the time needed to complete the job, as well as seem to take forever to do it.
Robert was efficient and exact — the sign of an expert in his field. Nothing slowed him down or gave him pause. In our Living Room, we had an existing setup that needed a new TV and reprogramming of the universal remote — an AV receiver, with multiple components (Apple TV, AT&T Uverse, DVD Player, and Sonos Connect), and 2 zones in use, and an MX-​980 Universal remote. He took down the old TV, put up the new one, and reprogrammed the remote more efficiently than it was before. He also improved the wire management behind our cabinet, and added a hard wired internet cable to the TV (added bonus) even though TV was wireless. Everything functioned better than it did before after Robert got through with it. And this is after two different «AV professionals» took a crack at this same setup.
In the Media Room, he installed the new TV, installed the TV mount, and playbar mount, ran cables through the wall, installed a surge protected outlet, and hooked up 4 components (Sonos playbar, xbox, AT&T Uverse, and Apple TV). He used wall plates for all wall openings and all were in the exact right place behind the TV and behind the cabinet. Very precise! Everything was centered perfectly with no wires showing. It would have taken be forever to do that if I could have done it at all.
He did this all very efficiently in half a day and without leaving any mess. All was very reasonably priced. I have been searching a very long time for a dependable AV guy, but all of them seem to be unprofessional. And most seem to go out of business in short order and cannot be counted on.
Robert also offers great after installation service — you can count on him going forward. The sign of a good contractor is will you refer him to your family. I have already referred Robert to my dad.
Just call Robert — you will not be disappointed!!!

Robert did an excellent job mounting our big flat screen and running all of the chords behind the wall so it is baby proofed! He promptly returned our calls and came the next day to do the installation. The pricing was also very reasonable. We will definitely be using his services again!

Great work!!! We had a TV installed on the wall in our living room. Mr. Hamer went above and beyond the call of duty. Besides installing the TV and hooking it up to the stereo, he also reorganized the many wires I had out all over the place. Now, nothing shows.

After reading the reviews I had to share my experience with Robert from Audio and Video Dreams. First let me say my review is based on my experience from 3 years ago, I wanted a two stage process of installing Audio and Video for my pool and outdoor kitchen and then I wanted to move on to installing my home theater. I had seen Roberts van in the Cypress area (at the local Buccees to be specific) I got his card and scheduled an appointment for him to come to my house. Robert was timely and very knowledgeable and his quote for the first phase of my project was good enough for me to hire him to do the work of installing two outside TV’s and audio for the pool area with the promise that when he was done with that project that we would move on to the home theater install.
The good news was that Robert was on time and started work when he said he would but this is where the trouble began and is much like many others who have posted poor reviews about Robert’s ability to communicate with his clients, after completing half the work all the sudden Robert failed to show up again to complete the remaining work. Numerous phone calls and emails resulted in nothing and I began to get frustrated not knowing what was happening. Weeks went by and with nothing from this guy so I had to move forward and find a new vendor.
Weeks into working with my new vendor all of the sudden I start getting phone calls from Robert asking when would be a good time to come over and finish his work, he stated he had been at a training seminar and was looking forward to completing the install. He acted as if it had only been a few days and that I had known the entire time that he hadn’t fallen off the face of the earth! Due to how I was treated I ignored his continuous attempts to reach me with several messages from him sounding confused as to why I wouldn’t return his calls.
A few years later my neighbor hired Robert to install his home theater, I warned him about Robert but he decided to use him anyway, my neighbor was perfectly happy with his experience which seems to be consistent with the reviews here which is either very good or very bad.
I would say that using Audio and Video Dreams is a risk not because of Roberts knowledge or expertise with audio and video but purely because you never know which Robert is going to show up (or not show up at all!!), it’s a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ risk and as a consumer that is never a good bet in my opinion!

We hired Audio & Video Dreams, LLC after agreeing to a quote for the installation of a home theater (a mix of existing equipment & the purchase of new). The quote was thorough & experienced. They were knowledgeable of equipment & installation (and gave good suggestions & information), but then they NEVER SHOWED for the job. They have been completely UNREACHABLE & REFUSE to return phone calls & emails. They are completely UNRELIABLE and an unfortunately a waste of time.
A professional & reasonable quote is nothing if the project never comes to fruition because they never show for installation.
It has been an incredibly disappointing experience. We were more than ready for the installation and anxious to get the job done. Our pocketbooks are out… we are ready… and they just don’t care enough to return our phone calls or emails (or just show up for install!). It looks like we received the identical treatment that Mr. Jerry P. (fellow Unilocal reviewer from March 2014)! It’s very unfortunate. Mr. Hammer seemed very knowledgeable, but he isn’t reliable.
We are honestly left utterly dumbfounded that someone can operate a business in such a way. He not only wasted our time, but his as well. Why quote the job, if you don’t want to do the job? He set the price, we agreed… and yet, I doubt we will ever hear from him again.

Yes, we use an alias on Unilocal but that doesn’t undermine the legitimacy of our review. What is alarming is that this company ignores so many customers per week that they can’t put two and two together. Our installation was scheduled for this week. They have refused to answer their phone, return many many phone calls we have made and to return any of our emails. Obviously, the job has gone to another company with three more in standby. I left this review with the hope that others will avoid wasting their time with this company.

Having spent many years in the «Audio Business» I had a good idea of what I wanted (sound wise) from my new Home Theatre system. In this instance., I am «downsizing» from a separate Audio and Video systems… to one, that is more «Wife Friendly»…but that would serve both purposes without giving up the Audio performance I value most! Now… even an old Geezer like myself, (after being out of the business for more more than a few years) is wise to admit that things have changed drastically in the last 10 years! Suffice it to say… the integration of Audio and Video is a whole different animal these days, and requires careful equipment selection and installation by a professional who can assess your needs, how you intend to use the system., and has the skill and knowledge to bring all these factors together to deliver the performance you are looking for…(from the equipment you have selected). all the while tailoring it to your environment!
Robert, with AudioVideo Dreams… is just such a person, and operates just that type of Company!
Even though he would probably say I drove him a little «nutty» with my questions, concerns, and specific requirements (about the installation) …he fulfilled everything I asked, and did so in a timely. efficient manor! He left my home as he found it, and like a professional… treated our home with care and respect while doing the installation work. The price I paid was more than fair (though not necessarily the cheapest)…and was agreed upon in advance. Upon completion… there were no surprises!
Keep in mind… if you want the «absolute cheapest deal»…he may not be the guy for you! There are plenty of hackers and «fly by niters» who will do that type of work! But if you want a well integrated Home Theatre…(installed in a professional manor) by someone who can maximize your investment with his knowledge of the latest formats, cables, and products in the Home Theatre Industry… Robert’s your Guy!
As Consumers… sometimes we put off getting an estimate till we’re «ready»! Then, once we have the equipment, we call an Installer and expect a detailed, (instantaneous) quote, over the phone…(not to mention «Next Day Installation») ;)
Do yourself a favor… don’t call on a Friday… expecting the work to be completed on Saturday! Plan ahead a little!
Realize that professionals like Robert are busy for a reason… and it will be well worth your while to have it done right… the first time… by a professional… who will be there if you need help, (or additional equipment down the road), and stands behind everything he does and sells!
I have another small project to be completed as we speak, and am glad to not have to «hope» I can find someone to do the work right!

To call Robert a technician is an understatement. He is an architect. I would call him Solution Architect. His IT and networking knowledge is at highest level. Why does it come handy when all you want is your TV mounted and sound system installed? Well it does if you want your home prewired with lan hookup to all the smart TVs and professionally hide the internet boxes like roku, apple tv behind tv.
We got estimates from people who said conduit was the best way to go because our home wasn’t prewired. Then came Rob to our rescue. His innovative ideas made us re-​plan the two sound systems ideas that we had. Switched them between living room and media room and viola we have a neat looking setup.
Keep in mind ROB has a smarty pants sense of humor but it goes well with his personality. Rob aka 4k Rob is a genius. I am getting compliments from everyone who sees the job that Rob has done. Calling him for estimates was the best thing I could have done. Yes it helps to shop around but once you realize the potential of the sales man and his vision, it doesn’t always help to talk him down in price. Thank you ROB. Once I get HD cable I will let you know ;)

I called Mr Hammer for an estimate for wiring my home theater room. Around the first week of march.
He seams very knowledgeable about home theaters so that was a plus.
At first I wasn’t going to let him do the work but then after some consideration we decided to go with him.
I called him and told him we had decided to go with him after all. He said he would call me the next day and set up a time. Well that day came and went so after a few days went by I sent him an email asking about a day. He informed me a day or so later he was on spring break with his family but asked about the 24^th of march.
After feeling guilty for trying to contact him while on a vacation I let the email set tell the following Monday 17^th of march 2014 letting him know that the 24^th would be fine.
I sent him another email around the 19 that we also wanted to make a change. We wanted to have our audio cabinet installed in the Master Bedroom closet with the door facing in to the media room. He quickly replied asking for pics of the closet which I sent a few hours later. There was a couple more emails about specifics but no further contact since march 19 2014 and its is now the March 27 2014.
The 24^th came and went and he was a no show.
I feel like he is uninterested either because of the changes I requested even knowing it was going to cost more. Though I stated it may have to be done separately in a couple months but wanted it wired as if it was going to be in the closet as I did not want to have to redo wiring because we needed an extra 5 feet to move it to the closet.
That or because I have everything new receiver and speakers and audio cabinet and he was unable to sell me anything else he is uninterested in doing my project.
I don’t know what the problem is!
This was the first guy I called based on reviews to do this work. While he was on vacation I had called another guy for a quote as well who seems to be even less reliable then this guy. So I have now contacted a 3^rd guy xing fingers that it will finally get done.
Word to the wise never tell a sales men what your budget is. Make them give you a price.
