The Miami Personal Chef

I hired Chef Stu to cook for me and my wife for my birthday. We planned everything weeks ahead and chef Stu went above and beyond to make sure my ever need was met. The night of the dinner the Chef was on time and ready to go everything we discussed prior was set up. Not only is he a very nice guy but he is one hell of Chef! I would recommend him to any one. Not sure how the negative reviews below happened but I was impressed by his customer service and attention to detail. A+++ in book I will be doing this again for sure!

I would recommend Chef Stu to anyone looking for a phenomenal meal and excellent customer service! He was extremely professional and very accommodating. We had a group of 16 girls for a bachelorette party and Stu was scheduled to come cook for us on Friday night at our rental house. Long story short we had to vacate our rental house and ended up at a hotel. He didn’t skip a beat rearranging details and bringing the food to us so we were still able to have our personal chef/​dinner experience. The food options were endless and everything tasted great! I would absolutely recommend Stu and will use him again in the future!

I was in Miami for my best friends bachelorette party weekend and Stu was hired for the weekend to cook for us and stock the kitchen. Stu did all of that and more! For starters the kitchen was stocked to perfection, we had everything a group of 15 girls could possibly need. The meal Stu cooked for us was absolutely amazing, delicious appetizers, perfectly cooked steak, potatoes, vegetables (there was A LOT of food) — Stu even made it a point to go out of his way to cook salmon for the non-​meat eaters of the group, which was delicious as well. Followed by dessert and we were stuffed– it was so nice to be able to sit around with old friends and have our meal prepared, served, and cleaned up for us, Stu took care of it all! Lastly, I was the first to go to the airport the morning he was serving our farewell brunch (I was up and ready to go early, long before everyone else) and even though the other girls wouldn’t be out of bed for a while and brunch wasn’t quite ready to be served Stu still offered to make me breakfast and fresh squeezed juice for my departure.
Thank you Stu for an amazing and unforgettable experience! Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without you!

Hey, my name is Frank. I. from Philly. my fellow coaches and I started using Chef Stu back in 2003. As u can imagine we had quite a lot of outgoing people with a lot of different tastes. He took the shopping order and got all that done for us before we even arrived. By the time we got to the house we rented everything was set up. Apps, snacks beer wine. Dinner was cooking. Not only did was he able to please all of us, but we hired him every year since. He became our friend. And trust me, we just don’t let anyone into to our relm. It was not just the food that made us become a regular customer of Stu’s but his ability to fit in with the group and really became our friend. He’s got a huge heart and although he’s 6 ‘5″”, u would think he’s a teddy bear. Great guy, great meals and now I would call him a friend. Lastly, was also down in deerfield beach recently and he cooked for me and my pops. Did another wonderful job, it’s hard to please my father and Chef did just that. Looking forward to next trip down !!

Chef Stu was such a great help finding me the right chef for my 2 weeks I spent in Miami. We had rented a large house and needed someone to cook lunches and dinners for our group of 8. It was not only practical but fun and cost effective! I would definitely recommend his services to anyone visiting who is looking for a chef or a local who needs a full time chef!

I met the chef at my place of employment where we ordered meals weekly. I had tried everything from the grilled shrimp and steaks to caribben dishes and salads. I loved them all! My favorite was his curry shrimp with sweet onion and peppers. The curry chicken is bursting with flavor while the vetegables are fresh and tender!
I could have this (or curry shrimp) every week.

«Outstanding» From the food to service! I have had many Chefs service my needs but «Miami Personal Chefs is a cut above the rest! This was the first time that I could kick back and enjoy myself! Chef Stu was super professional in every way! It was an awesome experience to say the least. My expectations were exceeded by far! Chef Stu showed the culinary experience that I was looking for. Anyone who has used him will say the same. I was recomended from friends of mine that used him and they were spot on! The negative post that I read about Chef Stu is a joke! This just shows me that Chef Stu had to deal with classless individuals who shouldn’t waist his time and efforts because they could never be pleased no matter what he did. Chef Stu has nothing but Integrity, skill, class and a amazing at attitude all in one. Chef Stu was great in creating the perfect experience for my boyfriend’s surprise birthday dinner!
He spent 2 months finding the perfect location in Miami to have the dinner and cooked the food himself to honor my boyfriend’s contribution as a Marines Veteran.
The night went exactly as Chef Stu described it would go! He had the table set with all of the items that I brought over to him weeks before, and provided such an amazing scene that my boyfriend was so moved. He said no one had ever done a dinner like this for him before.
My experience with Chef Stu was great and I will actually highly recommend him to many friends of mine. I also tipped him because the food was absolutely amazing, that my boyfriend who can be a hard critic said he was impressed.
Thankyou Chef Stu for making my boyfriend’s surprise birthday a memory that will last forever and we will likely use you for our future wedding!

I totally agree with the review prior to this; I think this guy is a fraud. At the very least, he is a bully and incredibly unpleasant to work with. I know this first hand.
It was my fathers 80^th birthday. My large family rented a home for a long weekend in February. I hired Stu to cook one «special» celebratory meal, and to stock the kitchen. He stocked the kitchen! That gets 4 stars on its own, but what happened after gets a negative 6 stars. This guy was terrible.
First, he showed up two hours early to our initial in person meeting the day before the big dinner. Being vacation, I lost track of time. I remarked that I didn’t realize time had flown by, and I couldn’t believe it was noon already. His response «it’s 10am. I work on my time, not yours». This should have let me known all I needed to know about this guy.
The following day, he showed up several hours early. He arrived before 7am, when he was supposed to come at 10:30. He let himself in, and went to work in the kitchen.
Having 16 people in one house can get messy. Luckily I planned and had two full time housekeepers. We, the guests, didn’t leave dirty dishes on the table after dinner. We discarded the food, and rinsed the plates. We did leave the washing to the housekeepers to tend to in the AM.
Unfortunately for our early (very early, and unannounced chef) there were plates in «his kitchen». He referred to it as his kitchen. It was only his second time there. And he wasn’t a guest. He was a well compensated employee for the weekend.
Here’s when it gets great. That same morning I get a knock on the door. My bedroom door. The door I was asleep on the other side of. This was around 9:30am. It was the chef! I didn’t know it was him until he walked in. My partner and I were completely asleep 25 seconds prior. When I asked Stu why he was in my room, and if everything was ok, he started berating me for everything from leaving the kitchen in the condition it was in to letting me know how inappropriate it is to have a housekeeper bring me coffee in the morning. Had he arrived on time, the kitchen would have been sparkling. I won’t even address the delivery of coffee, because it’s my money that pays for the supplying of coffee, and the making of the coffee. I will have my coffee how I wish.
After our two «run ins» I decided I would rather figure out how to make a dinner for 15 people on my own than deal with this person again. I dismissed Stu. But, of course, not before he could manage to make several threats.
I am sure I will hear from this guy. What I said above is 100% true without embellishment. I have at least 9 adult witnesses (several lawyers, Stu). In hindsight, it was a little bit of entertainment. He managed to be the biggest drama in a family full of large personalities. But, far too expensive for the quality of the entertainment. I recommend the circus.
FYI: this guy never cooked for me or my family, though he demanded several hundred dollars for his «services». My credit card company and I couldn’t pinpoint any service preformed.
Don’t do it to yourself. Find someone else.

Ive never used this service, but A few weeks ago I made an inquiry to personal chef Stuart Shaw (
). We spoke for roughly 5 minutes and during that conversion nothing was confirmed or finalized, it was as previously stated, just an inquiry. On March 19, 2015, I was blind-​sided with the emails spewing hate and racist remarks. I’m posting this «review» to hopefully let the masses aware of how he feels about current and possibly future clients. He a local business who clearly doesn’t value those who grant him a living. His unprofessional and racist approach to dealing with people needs to be addressed.
