The teachers love the kids, and very reliable! Miss Monica and Miss Midory both are really caring the kids~~ Good place for kids to learn and play.

My daughter started attending TLC since last year.
I had visited many pre schools in Cupertino before deciding about TLC .None of the pre schools I visited gave me the comfort feeling that TLC director Ms Theresa assured me in my first visit to TLC.
MY daughter is speech delayed but TLC director never made this an issue. Most of the preschools raised concern about it and asked for an helper to accompany my daughter. Ms Theresa assured me that all her teachers are very well trained to handle the kids. I am very happy that I believed her and as a result my daughter got most lovingly teachers to look after her. I am thankful to Ms Shweta who takes care of my daughter very well.
The best thing I like about TLC is that they never complain for any kid. They always try to adjust as per kids need and are always smiling and accommodating.
They have very loving and trained teachers, good school program and as well as good summer program too. And yes they have a very big play area and well maintained classrooms with lot of toys and books. My daughter loves the whole environment.
I highly recommend this pre school which is now like a family for my 4 year old daughter.

TLC of Cupertino is by far one of the best preschools around. I feel confident making this claim, as my children have attend a couple other schools and none compare. My son attended TLC starting when he was 3 years old until he entered kindergarten in the fall of 2015 (3 years) and we started our daughter the day she was old enough to attend TLC. The teachers provide the right amount of love, attention, kindness, and structure that developing toddlers needs. All of the teachers know all of the children, regardless of the class and every morning they make the children and parents feel welcome as the kids enter the school. There is a lot of structure to the school and parents are expected to respect the policies around drop-​off and pick up as this is a educational preschool, not a daycare to come and go as you please. The curriculum is top notch starting in the youngest class through the pre-​K. In kindergarten this year, my son is well ahead of the other kids in his class and a top reader because of everything he learned at TLC. My kids love TLC, the teachers, and the friends they made at school.

I am in the process of being transferred to Cupertino, CA and needed to find a preschool in the area. I quickly found out that the preschools quickly fill when vacancies occur. I selected Tour TLC of Cupertino because of its close proximity to Apple. I enrolled my 3 yr. old right after the Director completed the tour of the school. I was very impressed with the Director, he being very knowledgeable and very caring, as were the teachers. The school provided a fun learning environment. The place was clean, and the four classrooms are divided but can be seen from almost any vantage point, which is reassuring for monitoring purposes.
I found the school and its staff very comforting, which met all my needs and concerns as a parent. The school has a great reputation and has been in business for 34 years that I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Clean, friendly, and lots of kids for my son to play with. I was only up for a short while visiting my bother, but we had a great experience.
I was a little surprised that it was a house, but it looked like it was well kept when I showed up and the staff was very friendly.
There were a few bad reviews of the facility, but I didn’t have the same experience at all. I’ll use TLC again next time I’m in the area.

After visiting several preschools in the area my aunt and I have decided on TLC. My aunt asked me to help with the decision since I have gone threw the process several times with my kids. For those of you who haven’t like my aunt there are factors to consider before choosing like location, this school is perfectly located across the street from Apple where my aunt works. The appearance of the school from the outside is more like a home rather than institutional building which is a big plus for youngsters.
We had a friendly chat with the director who gave us a tour of the place. I liked their strong academic curriculum blended with social interaction component. The director was kind and I liked her emphasis on security especially the fact that each parent has a individual code for entry and classrooms are visible from the directors office. When observing the teachers in action I noticed they seemed caring and kept the kids attention which is huge when it comes to preschoolers trust me. They also seemed to enjoy what they were doing which was comforting and made our decision easier. Now my niece is in good hands which makes me happy and my aunt feeling confident. For parents seeking a good preschool with academic emphasis for kindergarten prep– this is the place. Other schools we visited were more like giant play pans with babysitters rather than teachers, this one stood out and we feel is the best choice.

Our daughter is in kindergarten now but attended TLC for about two and a half years. She really enjoyed going there and learned a lot.
When she first started at TLC she was still in diapers even though she was on the old side for their youngest class. TLC really helped us work through potty training with her. We’d had a failed start at potty training before TLC and there were a few more false starts before we finally got there, but the teacher’s at TLC kept at it along with us and that helped a lot.
She started in the youngest class but quickly moved up to Ms Monica’s class as the second up of four. Ms Monica’s and Ms Sara’s classes were her favorites and where she spent the most time. The mix between learning and play was just right and you can just feel how much the teachers care for each of their kids. The teachers are genuine, good people. The director is wonderful as well and is often helping out, hopping between classes as needed, which works out well.
The converted house location for TLC works well for the number and size of the classes. Parking is sometimes challenging depending on when you drop off or pick up. The house does seem to need a bit more lighting, but that actually works well for nap time — our daughter had a very hard time napping even in low light. It’s nice that the outside play area is all in the back and fenced in — have to go through the house to get there — and that makes it that much safer.

First of all I truly cannot say enough about what a fantastic preschool TLC is. My daughter attended for 3 yrs and went through all 4 of their classes during that time. The teachers are truly exceptional and the balance between education and play is perfect. I am going to break it down in a way that I think makes sense for those evaluating and comparing different schools.
SIZE: TLC of Cupertino is in a converted house which I think ads a level of comfort for kids. It isn’t a giant facility where your child will get lost in the crowd and isn’t so small that it feels unprofessional. There are 4 classes with roughly 10 kids in each. And in my personal opinion it’s the perfect size.
TEACHERS: The teachers are exceptional and really seem to care about what they are doing. Communication is encouraged, and you never feel left in the dark about how your child’s day was. No silly journal notes about your child’s bowel movements and eating habits, but real one on one face time and conversation. And when I first visited I was very impressed with how friendly, relaxed and happy the teachers where. None of them looked stressed or overwhelmed like I noticed at other facilities that I toured.
EDUCATION & PLAY: One of my favorite aspects of TLC is how well they balance play and education. It’s not an education pressure cooker that you are throwing your toddler into and it’s not a free reign play all day kind of place either. They receive an excellent education well still being allowed plenty of free play time. And upon entering kindergarten my daughter was very well prepared.
My daughter and I both really miss TLC and we talk about it all the time. Thanks TLC for the exceptional care you provided my daughter and the peace of mind it afforded me knowing that she was happy and safe.

I looked at many schools in the Cupertino area and I have to admit almost looked this one over because of the «bad» reviews in Unilocal.I am so glad I didn’t. This school was the perfect choice for our 3 year old daughter.
The big pluses of this school:
— both students and teachers are from diverse backgrounds. Not one single group is over represented.
— all the teachers have been there a long time. Many of the other schools I looked at had high teacher turnover. This is a sign the teachers get treated well and like to be there.
— children get a good amount of outdoor play time. The playground is also a real garden, not a parking lot.
— the student teacher is about 12:1 which is standard, but it feels like it’s lower than other. The teachers back each other up but they are all fully experienced and professional. At other schools they really have classrooms with 24 students and 1 teacher and one assistant or intern. Note for the younger classes the ratio is 6:1
— they have a good balance of academics, arts, and playtime. Children get to play plenty which is what children have to do and they will still be prepared for Kindergarden.
— They have a very exciting summer program. They bring the field trips to the school. So busy working parents don’t have to juggle their schedules to volunteer to carpool to field trips.
— The hours are good (at least on the early side in the morning), again good for busy working parents.
— The cost is competitive with other similar schools in the area
I have to say that our daughter had some challenges when she enrolled. English was a distant 2^nd language, and as much as we wanted her to be bilingual, we were worried she would not adjust. She was also not fully potty trained. They patiently worked with her on these issues. They also give useful but generally positive feedback. Our daughter has made huge progress while she’s there.
I encourage other parents to take a look at this school, don’t pay so much attention to the rating which seems unfair or some of the bad reviews that seem to be overweighted. If you do, take a look at the «not recommended» ones as well. It’s a mystery why so many of the positive review are hidden. Hopefully others with positive experiences will post similar reviews to make it more representative and balanced.

Prior to moving out of the Bay Area we had our kids at TLC for years. Our experiences with TLC couldn’t be any different than the 1 – 2 Star reviews posted. We found TLC to be professional, courteous, caring and most importantly nurturing of our kids. They worked with us on the occasional special request and we always felt comfortable leaving our kids with the staff at TLC. Give these guys the opportunity to earn your trust and confidence. You will not be disappointed and your kids will thank you for their time and experiences at TLC.

My kid has been going here 2 months. Already has shown huge signs of improvement in talking and has learned a lot! He is always extremely happy in the morning knowing he gets to go to his school! He likes all of his teachers too.

@Bert (he deleted his comment to me) When my daughter attended I never even met you once, so for you to reply about my review as if it is not valid is what is really disheartening here. Instead you should look into why TLC does not follow their own guidelines on the packet you hand out to parents. Stop bribbing people to write reviews to bring up your stars because you guys failed my daughter. Thank you for kicking out my toddler who just wanted your teachers to pay attention to her, and be nice to her. What kind of daycare kicks out a child under 2 for that anyways? Maybe you should tell your teachers to stop bashing innocent children while you’re at it. I heard the same teacher talking down about other children so loud word for word. Totally unprofessional. (By the way I take the 5 «funny» clicks were from the workers there, just proves my point of how they have no respect for the families or children)

I’m shocked at reading the other reviews (and particularly snap decisions made based on a ½ hour interview!)
I toured this facility along with 5 others in the area a year and a half ago when we moved to the area. I’m a working mother of 2 and my daughter had been in daycare 3 days a week from — months old till — years old, and full time preschool from age 2 to 3 (2 different previous preschools). She was potty trained and ready for the big girl classes, and she was quite the discerning & opinionated preschool attendee.
During my tour and in every interaction since, director was open and friendly, invited me to see the facility during class and play time, and answered all my questions. All the other facilities were comparably priced (2 Montessori, 1 Chinese language, 2 big-​name institutional style). Was the director businesslike and direct? Certainly. But I’m a no-​nonsense woman and I don’t waste a lot of time with pleasantries (call me brusque! :-)
I chose TLC and my daughter stayed at TLC because it is the perfect combination of small size classes, open caring environment, and (age-​appropriate) academic structure that is *perfect* for children to thrive. Their play area doesn’t have to be huge — there aren’t ever 50 kids back there at once. It’s the size of a large backyard, and it has trees — not concrete like those institutional daycares.
Their class setting is 4 half-​wall-​height rooms so that it is completely open and light (except during nap time). I always found it to be very clean and neat, even when I dropped in unexpectedly to pick up my daughter.
My daughter moved from the 2-​year old class all the way up through the 4 classrooms to the 5-​year old pre-​K class in 1.5 years. She had *all* the teachers at this facility, and my (very verbal, very outspoken) daughter loved them *all*. Most preschools wouldn’t like the quick moves up (because they have space issues or would want her to stay preschool as long as possible to get the associated tuition $$).
But TLC recognized she was ready and acted accordingly, fully supporting my decision to move her to Transitional Kindergarten this year, and immediately moving her into the Pre-​K class as soon as I let the director know.
If I could give 6 starsto TLC, I would!
If you like a large, institutional daycare with 30 kids/​class, high ceilings, and huge concrete playgrounds, then TLC is not for you. But if you like a small, child centered, warm and loving learning-​focused environment (where preschoolers still get a chance to be kids :-) By all means go and check them out! You won’t be sorry.

Excellent! TLC has been nothing but a GREAT EXPERIENCE for my daughter. They have been so welcoming and caring from day one! TLC is lots of fun and has great learning activities for the children. Mrs. Sara and Mrs. Theresa always had the most positive things to say about my daughter. Mrs. Sara was great with communicating with my husband and I about our daughters learning development and would even recommend great learning advice. In all we had a TREMENDOUS experience with TLC and wish they had a kindergarden class! Thank you TLC!

I’m a mother of two boys. My older son has graduated from TLC and currently in kindergarten. I cannot believe how much he had learned socially and academically.
The preschool is so well prepare for him with no kindergarten transition problem.
As for my younger son, he used to have a bad habit of biting the others when he was mad in the younger class. Even at home he did the same thing to his older brother. It was very fortune with the helped of the teachers and now he had stopped biting the others.
So, I would say the preschool is diverse, nurturing, balanced in play and academics.
The most essential I feel about TLC is I always feel welcome with a big smile from every staff members when I drop-​off my kids.

We wanted to love it. My son attended the youngest class for 10 months. Some of the teacher was very hush on kids. After about 10 months, my boy refused to attend and will cry at the sight of the building. avoid it if you can.

I have been reviewing many preschools this week and this was the last one on the list. I am a teacher myself which allows me to understand the professional standards one would expect at a school. I have never written a negative review but this place qualified my precious time. Here’s what I experienced (if I could go negative stars I would):
The director was not friendly nor did she really greet me when I came in. She kept talking to another person while we waited outside. She was curt and unwelcoming. She became flustered about her information packets being unorganized. When a two year old child came up to wave hello at her window she slammed the curtain close and it made a loud crashing noise. This was not friendly nor caring and if she is like this in front of a parent, I worry how she is when parents are not present.
She did not give me a tour of the facility but rather I had to ask if I could see more than just her office. She seemed really unenthusiastic about giving me any kind of tour. As a professional she should understand that parents want to see the program in action, see if children are happy and safe, check if the facility is clean and respectable. This was not offered and from what I did see it was less than impressive. The tour she did offer I saw literally less than two minutes of the classroom and the children seemed sad. Then a few brief moments outside where the playground was mostly concrete. The bathroom glimpse seemed dirty but hard to tell. It was pretty dark throughout the facility in general and not cheery perhaps reflecting the directors disposition.
Additionally when I spoke about my child’s personal history she was judgmental and uncaring. If the director took time to interact with others in a kind way and actually show the facility perhaps I might think differently but her negative actions closed the doors.
I would not recommend this place at all. As I teacher I know that education and child care is a service industry. If this is how parents are treated on a «tour» I would be afraid to leave me child here. Additional when I asked a few other friends about this place, they had similar experiences from their «tours»… unfriendly director and not welcoming.

My son has been going to TLC since May and he loves it. This is his first time in a public preschool setting (he had an in-​home nanny before). He has made friends, excelled in his academics (for the age of 2) and loves his teachers. Miss Sandra is very attentive and loving all the time but especially when he’s having a rough day.
The class sizes are small which allows more one on one time with each child. The summer program has been a lot of fun with exciting activities. All the teachers, especially Teresa, the director, are wonderful and know all the kids by name.
Definitely worth the price!

Our 3 year old son starting attending TLC in the spring, after about a year in a small home-​based daycare. I am amazed at how smooth the transition was for our son. The teachers at TLC are smart, warm, and welcoming. It doesn’t feel institutional or intimidating since it’s a converted house in a neighborhood. The backyard is safe and private and the children are easily seen. There’s a nice play structure, sand area, trikes, basketball hoops, and water play during the summer. Everytime I go there the children are happy and the teachers are actively engaged. They help with potty training and you can go full or part-​time.. It’s a balance of academics and play with lots of time on art, reading, music, science, and numbers, as well as free play. They have a nice summer program, too My child has made friends, likes his teachers, and is proud of what he does there. I have so much peace of mind knowing he’s having fun and in great hands when I’m at work.
They provide snacks, not meals, but this hasn’t been an issue for me. It’s kind of fun to pack his lunchbox :)

Our daughter has been attending TLC for almost a couple of years now. I think it is a very good pre-​school. The most important aspect of any pre-​school is the teachers. At TLC, I found all the teachers to be genuinely caring and nurturing. You can tell by the way they interact with the kids. TLC has a very good kid-​to-​teacher ratios, especially in the younger 2 year old class. Which is good for kids that are first time outside of the home. The teachers can provide almost one-​on-​one attention to help ease the transition. It took my daughter over a month to initially adapt, but now she loves going to school.
The academics for the older kids (3 and 4 year olds) are well balanced. The material is well organized and adapted for different ages. They do a lot of crafts too.
I like TLC because it is not a big institutional pre-​school. It is very cozy and comfortable for the kids. They provide good structured routine for kids development. And TLC is not too small. I don’t worry about teachers calling in sick or going on vacation. The kids know all the teachers. So if the teachers shift around, everything just continues normally.
