Loma Spa

Went to the spa to get my nails done. I am not happy with the result. Finer details have not been paid attention to.

I’ve been a customer of Loma Spa for about the past 9 years. I regularly go for waxings and facials with Helen. She is great, and I enjoy my monthly sessions with her. I feel like I see her more than a lot of my good friends! And, I always enjoy our chats.
Facials: My skin looks great, and I attribute this to the regular facials with Helen, her advice, and the products I purchase from Loma. I started getting the regular facials because I was getting small hard bumps on my forehead and some acne on my temples. It took about a year for that to clear up. A lot of the delay was because I didn’t want to spend money on the products offered by Loma. What I like about the regular facials is that Helen takes care of the odd pimples I get, including the ones on the back of my head in my hairline. And, she informs me about the «state of my skin.» The facials help let me know if I’m dehydrated. Because of the regular advice from Helen, I don’t drink a lot of coffee or caffeinated tea. I stick to drinking a lot of water. I am constantly drinking water. Sometimes it’s annoying. But, it’s good for my skin!
Keys to good skin:
1. Good products that don’t irritate the skin. Even bad hair products can cause bad skin. For example, my hair stylist recommended Moroccan oil (argan oil) for my hair. I didn’t know I was extremely allergic to it. It caused loads of acne/​pimples on my forehead and temples. And, even if after I stopped using the product, it took 1 – 2 months for the irritation to completely clear. I never use free products offered at the department stores anymore. And, if you start a new product and it causes any irritation to your skin, you should just stop and toss it, despite the cost. Here’s a list of ingredients you should avoid in any skin product (
). I use the Cosmedix cleanser (
) and sunblock daily (
— note, the price seems a lot lower at Loma for this). I’ve also use the Glo Therapeutics sunblock (
) and it worked well. I used the untinted version. It’s less viscous that the Cosmedix sunblock. I use sunblock despite sitting in an office all day. Better to be cautious. I’ve used sunblock pretty religiously since about age 22.
2. Facials. I find facials useful mainly because it’s a reminder to take care of my skin and replenish any products I need. I think facials are also useful because they get rid of any clogged pores. Depending on the state of my skin, Helen sometimes recommends a hydrating facial for me. I also get a peel about twice a year. I sort of don’t like them because I get loads of peeling for about a week, and my skin feels tight during that time. But, I suppose that’s the the point of them. I get the medium extreme peel; I think it’s called the Benefit peel. It’s like getting an oil change for your car — just to keep your car going and keep your car in tip top shape.
3. What you eat and drink. I have very dry skin. So, I have to drink lots and lots of water. I should probably even drink water with electrolytes, though I don’t. Also, you should be very aware of what you eat and what foods irritate your skin. A lot of people have skin that’s irritated by things such as dairy, fried foods, meat, citrus, etc. If you want great skin, you need to know what foods you should and shouldn’t eat and stick with it. I love food, so I’m not as diligent as I should be with my eating. But, again, if you want great skin, you have to be consistent. I ate vegan for about a month — this consisted of vegetables in a miso broth over brown rice about 4 days a week for lunch and dinner and muesli in hazelnut milk for breakfast. My skin looked amazing at this time — glowing, clear, and hydrated. But, I am not disciplined enough to keep this type of eating up.
Waxing. Yes, I get bikini waxes. They sort of suck because it’s not comfortable getting them and I get ingrown hairs. Helen does a great job with waxing. I am extremely sensitive to heat. And, Helen tries to make the waxes the least painful for me as possible. I am very appreciative of her efforts. What we women do for grooming! I exfoliate that area daily with the honeycomb pad that they sell at the spa. That helps. When all else fails, I use this splinter remover (
) to get the ingrown hair out like a splinter. Yesterday, I removed a hair from under my skin that was 2 – 3 mm. Crazy! Okay, maybe this is too much information.
I’ve gotten my eyebrows waxed by both Leyen and Helen. They’re both great. I’m a bit on the frugal side, so I’ll get my eyebrows waxed irregularly and then manage the upkeep with a tweezer. But, whenever I have a special event, I get my eyebrows waxed.
Finally, I appreciate how I’m able to buy the services at the spa. I typically buy the facial and waxing packages to save money. Ask your esthetician or Lee about these. Lee is super helpful and very nice. Thanks Lee!

First time here this is by far the best experience I have had in a long time. Linda did my acrylic and she was amazing and Cindy did my toes and did an amazing job. They both made sure everything was perfect I will definitely be back.

I came in today with my Mom to get a little pampering done. We entered the salon to check in with Lee, the man at the front desk. Lee seemed very preoccupied with handling the phone calls that kept coming in despite paying customers standing in front of him. He didn’t alert the technicians of our arrival so we sat for our 1:30 appointment for ten minutes before Leyen asked if we had been helped.
Linda took my Mom to get her Luxury Pedicure started and I followed Leyen to begin my Brazilian wax. Now ladies, I want to be very clear, this process is not a pleasant one but boy did Leyen make it worthwhile! Since this was my first wax ever she talked through with me about what I was going to endure. She made me very comfortable and soon she was working away and waxing me. I was done in about 10 minutes!
I returned to the main part of the salon afterwards to find Linda taking excellent care of my Mom. Since we came in on a Wednesday we qualified for free Mani’s to go with our Pedi’s. My technician, Amy, is new and took longer than Linda but she was very diligent and focused on me despite having to take care of customers that were waiting for Lee (who was MIA at the front desk).
Overall, once you get past Lee at the door you will be very happy with your services. I intend to come back, hopefully when Lee’s not there.

Over a year has passed and I am still loyal to Leyen! I love my lashes and would not dream of going anywhere else. She’s fun to talk to and tells me about all the different classes she takes to continually be educated and on top of her game. Most recently she performed this new technique on me called Russian Volume! I LOVE IT! I used to go for the cat eye look, but now I prefer the doll look which makes my eyes pop more.
Loma Spa now has a rewards program too. So I can eventually earn free services. I truly love this place!

Leyen did it again this time with my eyelash extensions ‼ My lashes look just beautiful. This was my third visit for my lashes with her and I couldn’t be happier with results
Leyen is awesome at what she does (permanent makeup and eyelash extensions) on top of that she is super nice person to be around. For sure will continue seeing her and Loma Spa

Love LOMA Spa! It’s clean, beautiful, and chic. I love that it’s so relaxing and the staff is friendly and professional. All of the nail techs are very good and I always leave with beautifully polished nails. I had the luxury pedicure by Linda and the hot stone massage was amazing, including the cooling mask and paraffin wax, which most places do not provide. Highly recommend.
Leyen, the Owner and Aesthetician, is a true artist when it comes to permanent makeup. I had my eyebrows done and they are even nicer then they were naturally. She enhanced my natural features and now I never have to spend time doing my brows or worrying about them disappearing, which is awesome when you swim in the ocean as frequently as I do. No one can even tell that it’s permanent. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else!

I’ve been going to Loma Spa for years now and I must say they’re the only place I trust to have my facials done at. Helen gives the best extractions and always takes her time on my face. I always leave with my skin feeling so nice and soft.
My fiancé went in for his first facial and hasn’t stopped raving about how nice his skin feels. I think he might just be as hooked as I am. Lol

Not a fan. Went once based on reviews here and it was just okay. Firstly I have never had my toenails cut with a cuticle cutter. Is that a California thing? No thanks. Secondly, please scrub, pumice and massage. It is a pedicure after all and my feet need a treat! I should have known when the manicurist had perfect nails that this was not going to be the hands-​on experience I was used to back East. No getting her nails mussed. Finally, the uneven application of polish and the slow not-​so-​expert strokes were a turn off. Maybe I’m spoiled by the expert and hard working salon ladies back East. Meh.

I’ve been to Loma Spa twice and both of the times my mani/​pedi was just alright.
I called this AM and I was able to be seen about an hour later which was nice. The manager mentioned some special which I was like «oh ok!» without really understanding what he was saying. I thought I was getting a discount or something along those lines but that wasn’t the case since my total price today was $ 96. YIKES! I will never stupidly agree to whatever promo until I’m 100% on the details. Shame on me.
Anyway, the foot massage and treatment was nice so I’ll leave the price alone. (Although I never want to pay that amount ever again.)
I asked for an intricate manicure and I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Maybe Pinterest is to blame for giving me false hope in making me think salons can actually accommodate my desired designs. The nail tech I was assigned to seemed like a noobie, I would catch her stopping her work to watch the other tech in action. I know she did the best she could but I just wasn’t very happy with the end results, especially with the amount I paid.
I MIGHT come here again and if I do, I’ll keep my request simple and basic.

Called this morning to see if they take walk-​ins and the friendly man on the phone suggested I make an appointment because it gets busy but walk-​ins as welcome if they have the time.
I made an appointment to be safe and GLAD I did.
The location right by the KFC made me a tad bit nervous but I went in anyway.
The inside is so clean, calming, and organized looking. There were 4 people waiting as walk-​ins but i gave my name & I was brought right over to start my pedicure.
I highly highly recommend Holly… She did such a great job and the foot massage was awesome.

Clean, well decorated luxurious spa. Quiet and relaxing. My Nails lasted 3+ weeks, the lady who did my nails, I think her name was Linda, was super nice, kept a conversation made me feel really comfortable.
Plus they had the cutest lil puppy walking around :)

I. Love. Loma. Spa.
I searched for years to find a good spot for my spoil time and felt like every place I went was a miss. There was always something wrong, either the atmosphere or the nail techs. The moment I walked into Loma, I felt like I knew from the get go that it would become my usual spot. I have been going there for about 6 months now and could not be happier. I love Cindy, and would not trade her for the world, but all the girls there are simply amazing. You are greeted with smiles all around and they truly do spoil you.
Do not hesitate to check them out! Highly recommended.

Do yourself a favor and go to Loma Spa! They are wonderful
I was able to get in very quickly and had one of the best mani/​pedis I’ve ever had. I feel completely pampered! Cindy and Holly were absolutely fantastic, but the entire staff was so friendly and attentive! And their prices were very reasonable.
I can’t wait to go back!

My experience started between 1 to 2 months ago. My husband and I stayed down the street at the Cypress hotel for his business trip. (We live in Santa Rosa, which is about 2 hours away) While my husband was in his training classes during the week, I decided to go try out the lash extensions service at Loma because I was going to go to a big event the next week.
I literally walked 5 minutes to this place. Leyen did an amazing job and these lashes lasted quite a while considering I didn’t do any touchups within a month.
Since I was very pleased with my first experience, I decided to go see her again even though I live literally 2 hours away. Anyone familiar with the Bay Area knows that there’s a lot of traffic between there and Cupertino, but it was worth it. I decided to see Leyen again because this month is my birthday and I wanted to do something nice for myself: P
Leyen is super friendly and just an all around awesome person. She made me feel completely relaxed and she didn’t rush the job. She even added more to my set! Since it was my birthday, she gave me 20% off. I thoroughly enjoyed both times I went to Loma and highly recommend this place.
What I liked more about this place compared to the people in my area is the fact that they use these lightly sticky gel eye pads to separate your bottom lashes from your top lashes. It feels like pillows on your eyes, and at other places, they just use tape… which hurts when they peel it off when they’re done. The bed you lay in while your lashes are being done is SO comfortable as well. The price for your initial set is actually $ 50 to $ 75 cheaper compared to what’s charged in my area up north, too.
SO, all in all, I can’t complain:
+thicker, longer mink lashes that look amazing
+a tad bit cheaper than my local areas
+super friendly staff
+eye gel pads instead of tape for separating top and bottom lashes

Been here twice, a little bit pricy, but the atmosphere is good. Clean and comfortable.
I give 4 stars because of the environment.

I came into the shop this evening and while I was waiting for my mani/​pedi, I discovered that all of the skin products and makeup are all paraben and sulfate free! I have been looking for a place that provides these options since I prefer not to use products with parabens or sulfates in them. I am excited to try them out, and hopefully start a regimen with them again.
I always love all of the ladies who work here. They are all nice, friendly, professional, and they do a great job! The place is clean, which is super important. When it’s clean, you can be comfortable. These are all important factors for a business! I’ve been going here for almost 7 years now, and I’ve seen them grow and progress, and it’s been awesome to see how they’ve evolved.
One of the things I am hoping they will offer is 3 — free/​5 — free nail polishes since there aren’t any other shops that offer these options for those folks who are more aware of what they put on their nails/​skin. They are already forward thinkers on the skincare so hopefully they will bring in the nail polish as well.
