I’ve been looking for a gun store that has a specific magpul item and possibly to get my hand gun safety certificate as well so I came here since its on my daily route. Upon walking into the store I noticed it’s pretty big for a gun store which is usually a benefit but I was wrong it’s very unorganized there’s products scattered across the shelves and countertops. What really bugged me was they had ARs and rifles unattended sitting all over the counter tops one rifle specifically caught my eye bolt in and pointed straight to the cashier area. I may sound like a safety nut but that was enough to get me to leave the store never been to a gun store that leaves weapons unattended in reach of customers pointed in the same direction.

I sold a gun here on consignment, and several months and dozens of phone calls later, I still haven’t been paid for it. Every time I call, I get «We left a message for Harry,» or «Harry will call you back.» I wish I had checked Unilocal in advance, as it appears Harry has a habit of being a deadbeat.
I used to like this store, but now that I know what a sleaze the owner is, I’m never going there again, and advise others to do the same.

We’re supposed to ship a gun to our local FFL. 3 weeks and over a dozen calls later they still haven’t done anything. Sadly managed and unprofessionally run store. Buyer beware– good luck

I recently came here for a private party transfer.
Sometimes that can be a hassle because allot of Ffl shops don’t like to deal with it since it’s a low to no profit transaction. At Kerleys I was quite happy. I dealt with two young men and both were very accommodating and made the easy process just that. Easy. One of them even took the time to show me the take down and reassembly of the pistol. I had watched videos but it became crystal clear once I saw in person
I highly recommend them and will return to do other transfers as well as give them my business

After ordering a rife and a hand gun from this shop, I can finally write a review that will not be made from just one transaction but from two transactions about half a year apart.
I have ordered a AK from this shop last April from them as this shop was right next to my work. The price for the rifle was higher by 100 $ then most other places but i went with them do to convenience of walking distance from my office. After they screwed up my order they did not call me or tell me that the order did not ship. I had to call and check in to let them know that i am still waiting for the rifle. After re-​ordering the rifle from another company it took another month on top of the first month that i was sitting around waiting for the first order.
My second order was for a hand gun few weeks back. I have ordered it with the shop thinking it will be a better story this time around. No it was not. I had to call in to find out if the gun actually made it to there shop. They told me they cold me. I have never got a message or a missed call on my cell phone from them, thats fine not a big deal. I had ordered ammo for the handgun as its special round the same time as the hand gun it self. To my news the company shipped the wrong ammo that took the shop a month time to get and they did not even check back with me in regards that the shipping order was wrong and or they have re ordered the right ammo for my gun. Once again i had to call them to remind them to check my order to find out the problems and to get it sorted out. The shop seems not well organised, messy and just hard to deal with as i have wasted a lot of my time dealing with them. I dont recommend this shop as i am not going to order anything more from them from now on.
I am still waiting for my ammo to come in to this date.
Update from the last review:
I have finally received my ammo and a gift for the time it took to get the ammo and the problems they ran into with the order. Over all the shop has room to improve on costumer service at this point. I hope they get there problems sorted out with ordering and will organize the shop a bit.

About three hours after posting my review I got the first ever return call from Harry, after closing hours. The work was done — the gun was ready for pick up. I haven’t used the gun yet, but the work appears to be satisfactory, and Harry was very patient in explaining to me how to swap out barrels and other details of care and maintenance. I think they are a decent shop, so long as you have the time and patience to continually hound them to do what they agreed to do.

Outstanding service! I went in get a few things fixed on my rifle before deer season, a recoil pad added to the stock and a new scope mounted. They initially quoted me 4 weeks, but were able to rush it since the season was going to start soon. I couldn’t thank Harry enough. Went there because I heard of their good service and was not disappointed.

It’s a gun shop; they sell guns and gun accessories .
Friendly and helpful with more than just prices and stocking questions .
David T apparently has an IQ lower than his shoe size if he didn’t see the literal walls and gun cases filled with firearms ready for purchase .
Paul’s customer service is better than most to put lightly; the fact that David T couldn’t wait his turn in line is nobody’s fault but his own.

I know crap about guns, wait firearms. But I had to ship one to another state. The staff was very very helpful. Guns aren’t for me but these guys were great.

I purchased a firearm from Kerleys last fall and have been very pleased with my entire experience. The folks there are super friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sell.

People are great, Stories are great, knowledge is great. Kinda over price in guns, but repair and ammo are prices are ok.

I put a 22 rifle on consignment. The gun was sold in December, 2014. Up to date of this post, a check could not be issue. Every time, I called in, they always answered either, «next week.» or «Give me your phone#, someone will get back to you.» but never call back. This is my first consignment sale with Kerleys and once this matter is settled, I won’t set my feet into this store again.

These (new guys) have made KERLEY’S my goto gun shop.

Small shop, and limited inventory here. Main reason for 2 star rating though is I came in to get new sites on an xd9. When the guy working the counter handled the handgun he inadvertently point the barrel at me no less than three times. Nothing malicious or anything like that but I do have a higher standard of safety rules at a gun shop. They did install the sites and at a reasonable price. Would say if you are looking for a rifle or gunsmithing this may be an option for you but thats about it.
Suggest that they review basic safety with staff.

I have mixed emotions on this place. I have bought five firearms through the shop but feel the customer service can be very lacking. Casey and the owner Harry are the best people to talk to in this place. Without them I would have to find another local store.
There is definitely an arrogance among the younger staff here and a not to friendly atmosphere towards new customers. Although once you go there a few times and spend some money they do open up with free soda’s and occasional grub. A neighborhood hangout for a few local regulars for sure.
They have some nice trophy animals on the wall and the owner teaches a reputable long range distance shooting course. I also got my Hunter Safety Certificate through a class in the back of the store so it is nice they are trying to further the sport.
I’m not saying I’m right but in my opinion they are caught up in the profiteering like every other gun store since barry sotero was elected and are actively gouging customers on some transactions. I will still give them my patronage since profiteering off barry sotero is standard operating procedure for the whole industry now and they are running a business not a charity.
I just wish the customer service was more about service than about who is cooler than who and who knows what B. S legislation that isn’t going to pass is being proposed. Much of the staff just seem preoccupied with a lifelong pissing contest over who knows the most about guns and how stupid everyone else is and it creates a standoffish atmosphere. I grew up reading Guns & Ammo and Soldier of Fortune and I got this impression. I shudder to think what a new customer to the industry would feel like in this place.
I would rather they step in when someone is going to make a misinformed purchase with recommendations and alternatives.
Like I said, Casey and Harry are the main reason for my continued loyalty. That and the refusal to give my business to a chain like wallmart or target. I saw the first wallmart in Vermont bankrupt a family owned gun business and I will never forgive them for it.
Try this place out. If the customer service isn’t there then go somewhere else, as long as it’s not a wallmart or target type chain. Always go local over the chain! Semper Fi

Great place. Took my glock here this past week to have a new trigger connector installed. They almost always have to be grinded down to fit just right. I was quoted 2 weeks and $ 65 and afterwards I inquired about some of the rifles which the man helping me explained the differences of a few makes and models clearly and what benefits each has for the price range. They didn’t have the vanguard series 2 in stock but the person helping me knew about it and quickly quoted me a price if I wantsd to order one and showed me comparable models. 2 days later I got a call saying my glock was done and it was an easier job than they anticipated so they also charged me less.

What more could you ask for in a gun shop

So much arrogance here, especially with the tenured employees that really think they know it all. Let me tell you, they have been wrong on several occasions. Pretty sure the bad attitude is coming from the top down because there is a younger kid there who is actually helpful– until his manager/​supervisor chimes in and cuts him off.
Anyways, the last time I went in there I was looking for a spare box to ship a gun I sold online. I was going to turn around and buy a different gun through THEIR shop once the deal was done. Apparently, they couldn’t spare one of boxes littered behind the counter — AND they very arrogantly told me wrong information conflicting with how I planned to ship the gun. Instead, they insisted I pay them $ 150+ to ship it, trying to tell me I can not deal with that state’s FFL on my own. Turns out I can, and I did, and you better believe I bought my new gun from somewhere else.

Wow. This place is horrible. I went here for the first time today because my brother-​in-​law was doing a transfer. This place is empty of stock and is a real s**t hole. The guy who owns the place was doing nothing but berate the young kid who works there. It made me feel uncomfortable just being there. I would never give that dick a penny of my money.
On top of that, they had 2 Rock Island 1911’s there, a full-​size and a compact. Both priced at $ 750. WHAT!!! Are they crazy? Those are $ 450 – 500 guns tops at any other gun shop. Avoid this place at all costs. There are much better choices in the area.

My husband & I just bought our first gun and this place was a godsend. We interacted with four different employees over the course of two visits and they were all very kind and helpful. We ordered our rifle (Savage Mark II) through them.

The process for ordering the rifle was straight forward, and made stress-​free by the staff. The person who was primarily helping us with the purchase was Calvin. He was patient, funny, and offered advice as an owner of the same rifle.

I was nervous because I’d never been through the process before, but everyone took the time to explain everything. They never made me feel unwelcome or out of place (a fear I had as a woman & first-​time gun buyer) and I’m very grateful for that.
When we came in to pick up the rifle, we bought some rings for our scope, which they installed for us. While Harry, the owner, was mounting our scope, he was explaining what he was doing, why, how things worked. It was fantastic. My husband and I learned so much. Harry explained things about our rifle (and rifles in general) that I never even knew to ask about. He tested each of us to see which eye is dominant, and showed us proper form for holding the rifle in a standing position (I’d only ever shot from a seated position). Since my husband and I are both short, he advised us on how to adjust or rifle to make it more comfortable. Harry was wonderful.
If you’re a first time buyer, come here. They won’t judge you or make you feel embarrassed. They are incredibly understanding and will make the process so much easier than you can imagine.

I went here more for the «outfitting» part of ‘hunting & outfitting” and was sorely disappointed. A fairly empty store and I wasn’t even acknowledged, let alone assisted. They must do enough business with their regulars that they don’t need any new customers.
On the other hand, if you want to look at guns and the heads of animals killed by guns, this is a place you could go. Just don’t plan on doing any business while you’re there.
