We specialize in Electrolysis (permanent hair removal), microdermabrasion, facials and peels, including the new VI Peel, permanent make up, Botox, Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane injections. History

Established in 1987.

I began my Electrolysis practice in a tiny room in the back of a hair salon. One year later I moved my office to a private suite in a medical building. I started out by myself, but soon added Estheticians and a Physician’s Assistant who offer skin care, Botox and injectable fillers for the growing clientele. I then obtained my Esthetician license so I could provide skin care and product recommendations for my clients. I have been at the same location since 1988.

I’ve been a licensed Electrologist since 1987, and licensed Esthetician since 2002. In addition to providing Electrolysis and Skin Care services, I also manage the office and run all the day to day responsibilities.

Elaine is the only electrolysist I’ve seen, so I don’t have much to compare against — but it’s been a very smooth process, and I have nothing but good things to say about her work and expertise. She’s also an easy person to be around, and I appreciate that. I would definitely recommend her.

Elaine is fantastic. Not only is she very patient in answering questions, she is very straight forward with her input and guidance. As a first time electrolysis customer, it was a little nerve racking but Elaine did a fantastic job and keeps up a steady stream of communication so the process goes by quickly. Elaine is the best electrologist /​electrolysist in the bay area.
Elaine has a VERY steady, gentle hand. She has been practicing for decades, and the treatments have been successful. She is very friendly and talks to me about all sorts of topics to keep my mind occupied during treatment sessions.
She has experience working with clients with a huge range of skin tones; this is important because it seems correlated to the damage electrolysis can do to your skin. As someone with darker skin, I really appreciated that she advised me on how to minimize skin damage (i.e., scarring, pitting, etc.). She taught me how to pick sunscreens to prevent hyperpigmentation after treatments, and she helped me figure out how frequently to schedule treatments to allow my skin to heal properly between visits.
Because I’ve visited other electrologists in the area, I can say, without hesitation, that Elaine really is the best.
A small thing: Elaine is quite popular and therefore very busy, so you may need to wait a few days to schedule an appt over the phone. Don’t be discouraged by the wait because she is DEFINITELY worth it.

I go here for electrolysis with Elaine Staats. The woman is an absolute genius when it comes to hair removal. She really knows her stuff and works hard to make sure she doesn’t go beyond your skin’s pain threshold. Elaine is also very easy-​going.
Electrolysis can be pricey, but it’s worth every penny if you see Elaine. Highly recommended.
